So when you ask things like "is Cosima a lesbian?" Are you asking us in the comments or just invoking the show to reveal an answer in the following episode? I'd like to tell you, but I just want to be certain about what you consider a spoiler. Also, I've been waiting on someone to cover this show from the beginning! Subscribed.
Thank you so much for asking!! I definitely don't want any spoilers!! Mostly it's just me talking to the show out loud or asking questions impulsively like I do when I watch with people 🤣. If I ask something you can answer without spoilers, or if I'm asking for clarification on the episode I'm watching and I'm just confused about something I don't need to be confused about, then go ahead and answer!! If I'm asking a question that would need a spoiler to answer then just let me squirm!!

No-one ever asks if Sarah sleeping with him is rape or not. Its a weird, interesting question, but i would say yes. It puts a different spin on the series if Sarah starts off by raping a guy.
I’m so happy hearing other OB fans having this reaction😭😂 That was literally my exact thought when I saw it in 2013😂 I was like “OH?!? THAT’S WHERE WE DRAW THE LINE??? Beth’s private letters?? Not Beth’s PRIVATE BOYFRIEND??”
This weird little show has had a surprisingly profound effect on my worldview... eta I remember being really drawn in about this time, too. And the "negative space" the story draws around the Beth character was really drawing me in. It's not really a question, per se, on the show that anyone is asking (who beth is) bc we know going in that everyone in the story already knows who Beth was, except Sarah and her group, so we're kind of forced into Sarah's viewpoint where there's a question about who Beth was, and if she's in some way "Filling the shoes" of Beth since this is Beth's life and she got drawn into this because she ran into Beth when she left her shoes behind and jumped in front of the train. If you rewatch you pick up early dialogue where Sarah's identity is messed bc of it.
DELPHINE!!! The most gorgeous, French babe but also an adorable little puppy at the same time. I have some serious heart eyes for her. Plus her VOICE. And her HAIR! Okay, I'll stop. I love the moment in this episode when Cosima is fed up with Sarah. It's not the last time she gets fed up with her lol. Paul is the worst. I don't like his character plus I don't think the actor is great either. I can see him acting.
@@KelseasComments Did you know Evelyn was the front runner to play the clones until Tat walked into the casting session and did her "thing." Funny story goes: Tatiana's agent rang her after the audition and put on a strange voice and asked, "Can I speak to Allison please." Tat said, "I think you got the wrong number." The agent said, "Oh, well, is Sarah or Helena there then. The penny dropped and Tat squealed. The production team were so impressed with Evelyn, they gave her the role of Delphine. The rest is history.
“Yeah, I KNOW Cosima. SHE DOESN’T F*CKING LISTEN.” This sums UP my entire relationship to the character of Sarah Manning.😂😂 love her, but my GOD does she cause more issues than she solves😂😂
Who is your favorite clone is of course the question everyone has to face. Obviously Sarah is the MVP. She gets the most done over the course of the show and no other clone would survive without her in the end. But who your FAVORITE clone is varies enormously among fans....Sarah, Alison, and Helena are top choices. Some people love Cosima the most. And then there are all the others you will encounter...each clone is, despite being a clone, unique and uniquely acted by the two main actors (yes another clone actor does appear...small spoiler but only small). It is an amazingly done show because each clone, whoever they are, remains unique.
Sarah drives me crazy sometimes which really drives a lot of people crazy in the comments. 🤣🤣🤣 But I think I relate to her a lot so I'm hardest on her. Like a lot of my worst traits I see in Sarah so like, I'm hard on her like I am on myself if that makes sense. 🤣 I think Alison is my favorite overall, Helena a close second! I love them both so much. 🤣
@@KelseasComments Despite being a soccer mom Alison is a psycho...and I love her for it. Both she and Helena will become even more favorites. Mrs. S may well be my favorite character, but then again I loved that actress in the movie The Commitments where she stole the show with her singing. Thank you for doing this show. It is so underappreciated. And don't be so hard on yourself! You're good.
To be fair, if it weren’t for the fact that Paul is a duplicitous, invasive a-hole, I’d consider him somewhat of a victim. I can imagine the absolute hate a male main character would get if he were sleeping with an unsuspecting female pretending to be her boyfriend. We give Sarah somewhat of a pass for this gross behavior and even call Paul the “creep” in the situation(even before discovering that he’s in on the conspiracy) because she’s female. I mean, imagine if the genders were reversed in this scenario and tell me I’m wrong about that.
Ya I mean I think either way you spin it they were both being creepy, either way one was sleeping with someone and lying to them about their ENTIRE lives for a job, and the other slept with someone pretending to be their girlfriend. I still think what Paul did was way grosser if we're going to compare, but I totally agree that Sarah, and female characters in general, get away with that shit while the male characters get judged more often for it. Paul is definitely a victim in some ways but I don't think it makes him lying to Beth about her whole life any less disgusting. His situation is complicated, and the characters are all in the gray area which makes this show so much more interesting.
@@KelseasComments 100%. My point was that if Paul wasn’t being duplicitous and lying, then he’d be a victim in this. I just find it interesting how we, myself included, judge certain behaviors more harshly when men do them. I like to examine that because I find it interesting. Like in the next episode (I know you’ve already seen it) when Allie violently attacks Donnie, ties him up and tortures him. You found it humorous….as did I. But I realize that if the genders were reversed, I’d find those actions heinous and disgusting.
no? she's creepy definitely with the paul and pretending part but her "victims" were all into her, so there's still consent somewhat. also she's openly pomiscuious and she's inviting people instead of forcing herself on people unlike how men usually are. they force themselves on others instead of inviting ppl on their own free will.
Your reaction when you realized that Cosima could be gay 🤣🤣 I never understood why gay people get so excited when they find a queer character, luckily today it is more common for it to happen, but you still get excited haha I don't mean it as a bad thing, I hope you don't misunderstand, I'm just saying, anyway these reactions make me laugh and even make me tender haha. For my part I have to say I could never stand Delphine haha but I must be the only one, I don't want to say much more. I felt bad for Vic too, even though he's an idiot. The actor, Michael Mando, was in Better Call Saul too and he's great, I loved seeing him in both shows.
The short answer is that most of us never grew up with gay (i'm using this as an umbrella term) characters to watch on TV, someone you could relate to, that they were showed in a positive light but at the same time that there sexuallity wasn't there whole personality and been able to show nuance like there straight counteparts. While it may seem that today representantion has gotten better, the truth is that only an small percentage of characters on TV are lgbtqi and from that most are side characters with small irrelevant stories to support the straight ones, and only the few got to be a protagonist. It should 't be this way, but the lack of representation means that when one of us appears on the screen we get exited. When you have seen your whole life characters with stories and personality you can relate then representantation becomes a non issue, for now we haven't got there yet.
For me I get excited when a character is a lesbian because then there's a possibility of a Sapphic ship!!! I don't necessarily care about them being gay in and of that itself, but realizing that she could be gay, and therefore I could get to watch her in a Sapphic relationship, was very exciting!! Sapphic relationships are so much more fun for me than straight ones because I like to live vicariously through the shows I watch and I don't have a beautiful woman to have a relationship with so I need to get excited over ones in shows. 🤣
@@nightnaughty Yeah I understand what you're saying. I guess I never felt that, when I watch a series or a movie I don't look for or expect queer characters or gay relationships, so I don't feel that excitement, I just fall in love afterwards if the character or the relationship is interesting and I feel that chemistry, I don't care if it's gay or straight, I can enjoy any kind if it's well written and well acted. I guess it has to do with the fact that I don't consider myself gay? I don't really know yet haha I prefer not to put labels on myself, but well, I hope the representation continues to improve until we get there as you say.
