That’s why (little spoiler) he tells Jack that he’s sick and that he just needs help. Jacob was trying to do his best not to to kill him, until he finally realized that Jack couldn’t be saved. But it’s still hard for Jacob because again, Jack was like a son.

A detail that I really love about this sequence that I'm surprised nobody talks about is that Jacob has duel hidden blades. Main characters havn't had them since Rogue, so I just think that that subtle detail is really awesome.

PS: He’s slashing with both hands during his fight with Jack and you can just make out his second blade if you pause at the right frame, there is also the sound of two separate blades ejecting as the fight begins.

Nothing against the accurate historical portrayal of the games - as a fan of history myself I applaud it . nope. in canon, we don’t play syndicate on an animus, we play it in a helix, something like a gaming console where you can relive someone’s genetic memories. those memories are already directly programmed into the helix, which means that the assassin you’re playing as isn’t your ancestor. abstergo managed to get their DNA and install their memories into the console. that’s basically what happens, and it might explain why we can play in jack’s POV, because somehow they also retrieved his DNA. there’s another theory that says jacob is jack the ripper, only a more demented and twisted version of him. but, for me, that seems completely impossible since in the ending evie encounters them both, and if evie killed jack, she would’ve killed her brother as well.

In the fight with Jack, (first one where player had control) why did they reduce Jacob who can take on dozens of men and emerge with scratches. Fight like a level 2 AI he didn't even block.
for me this dlc is a thousand times better in characters, gameplay, setting and story than the original The story of the original should be the DLC showing the younger siblings
Sorry, but AC Syndicate just didn't completely show how gruesome and murderous and horrifying Jack the Ripper is. Sure, it brings chills and frights to the AC 'verse, but not enough....
