Best Negotiation Strategy for Tough Buyers

  • One of my first deals in the industry ended up being one of my most crafty deals. Sometimes, when you have a buyer that is adamant about their right to a discount you need to pivot in your negotiation tactics. Instead on making dropping the price for the buyer to meet his demands, I raised the ceiling to give him more room to come up to the asking price. A weird trick that works for weird situations. Try is and let me know how it works for you IN THE COMMENTS!

Anyone -- that thinks this is a scam, it’s 100% not. I say this as a licensed Realtor in 2 states. First, the original buyer already knew that the original price was 1.95 mil. That’s public info obviously, he was already looking at the price. He simply said as a principle that “he doesn’t pay full price” - So Ryan, representing the seller and only having a (fiduciary responsibility to the seller), had the ability to publicly raise the price to 2.5mil. Here’s the thing about rich people, usually they want to FEEL like they are winning or getting their way. Ryan was smart enough to know that it wasn’t about the price… as was proved… it was about the man feeling like he won. The buyer knew that he had essentially forced the seller to appease his principal, thus not giving in, thus winning the battle. The real prize to rich people is WINNING. Upvote if you agree, so we can shut these haters up. All the best.

This is not a scam it’s just psychology, the way it works is that if you over price your asset consumers will assume that is the base price and will ask for a discount similar to the one they would have asked for if the price was lower, thus the consumer would be paying more. Nothing about this is a scam, nor is it the best strategy to make money from real estate. It’s just a basic straightforward strategy to sell real estate
