Great tips mate thanks it was driving me to despair I mean I've been playing FIFA for many many years but still just not that good. Just started 22 so I think these tips may help with practice. Some times it needs someone to remind you of the simple things. You can't always remember everything.

This game pisses me off so much, every team I come against, they have so many people clogging up defence, when they attack me my defence is nowhere to be seen
I actually concede a lot of goals from crossings.. don't know if im actually doing something wrong.. it would have been nice to touch that part of defending on this vídeo too

I just switched from FIFA 19 and my defending was more than decent. Now I'm literally dogshit in defense. I lose a lot of games. I score a lot but concede a lot (my career mode team is the top scorer team and worst defence 😭)
Man I just want some one to tell me how u make the players do the animations blocking early and on time I'm always in the correct position and every time they either get megged just watch the ball roll by them like wtf
Some facts. Second man press is NOT good against all those pesky players that just take an agile player and draw circles in your box. Right stick switching is a good thing to learn, however, it is not working how it is supposed to be and therefore not reliable at all in this game. Also, you kind of have to defend with your cbs and fb when your cdms are not even trying to help in defense (even though they are high defensive, medium offensive and have stay back)
2nd man press is indeed good in those areas, combined with you manually defending. Right stick switching is one of the best things to get good at regardless of it’s issues. Have to manually bring your CDMs back. Hope that helps 🤙
I play TOTS Marquinhos and every time I use second man press, he's just running straight past the attacker, leaving him open from the spot. Then you can't even bring back your CDMS most of the time because you getting outrun by all those moments Peles, R9s and whatnot running around in Elite. Right stick switching is so broken that you need 3 or 4 attempts to land on your CDM most of the times and by that time, most of your opponents are already in your box, 1v1 with your CBS. These tips might be good for players who are already good at defending to sharpen things up even more, but if your average like me, these don't really do much for you, as you invite your opponent to score more often than not.
Hi mate I’m having the problem with the last tip that it’s really hard not to do that because the auto switching activates every time the other team makes a pass and it’s always the furthest back players like the CB’s, then the player I’ve dragged back to defend goes back up field to where they came from when the ball is practically in the box or almost there??? I have my CDMs set to set to stay back while attacking I don’t know why the f only my back line defends, I literally have 2 CDMs
Don't dive in too much, use the manual jockeying and standing tackles. People are still getting used to the new dribbling so take advantage of that as you can steal the ball away from them if they keep hold of it for too long.
People tell me why are the players on fifa22 stil expensive like messi and ronaldo mbappe neymar no the game is finish very soon let them reduce it cause we cant affort them
@@alyohin8876 ye. i played football games before fifa existed. nintendo 64 world cup, where u could score with "van wijk" every time by shooting from midfield in a 45 degree angle. (van wijk is a game name player, not a existing player duo to licensing)

If it randomly chooses the CB, It could just move him out of the way and its so annoying.

Usually happens in a row or only in some matches aswell. FIFA is the least consistent game I've ever played with ridiculous physics at times.

Did you watch the video? Multiple times where examples are shown on how to use 2nd man press while you cover the other pass e.g cross

Just press circle/b before as the ball is about to come to your player, you will win every header

Defending against skill abusers is useless, ea should make it so that when you use skills you lose some amount of stamina

Why should you use auto switch in this game? It gives you no control on your defence. Just set it off and switch with the right stick alone.
