Hi! Thank you for your question! Yes, we used Lifetime Adoption Agency (lifetimeadoption.com). They are a christian based facilitator. They counsel and match birth families and adoptive families. Let me know if you have any other questions! T
I love your videos! I’ve been binge watching them all day!Can you explain a little more about the difference between a facilitator and a private agency?
Hi Rachel! Hooray for binge watching! Did you bust out the popcorn? :) Absolutely - the main difference is paperwork and relationship building. A facilitator acts like a match maker. They will match up adoptive families and birth families according to everyone's preferences. They don't handle any paperwork. They offer counseling, education, resources, webinars, walk with you through the entire process before, during, and after. A private agency will handle the paperwork (you'll still need a lawyer) and they usually have an in house social worker to perform your home study. Sometimes the matching process is a little less personal. I hope that helps! Thank you for watching and being here! xoxo , T
Thank you for watching! I’m so excited for you as you consider this amazing journey! Please let me know what you decide and if you have any other questions! xoxo, T
