Indeed. Well, SLP kind of slipped this one by. And Corvette did have the 405hp ZR-1 in 1994 so the fact that the Firehawk handidly beat the LT1 Corvette was sort of ......okay
I own a 94 and its number 186 of the 500 made that year and it makes me laugh the lowball offers that people have tried to make towards it. It's not going anywhere!!! 😇🔥🦅
The 1994 Firehawks with the optional exhaust are some of the best sounding cars ever. Who cares it exited only on one side. This video gives just a hint of how awesome they sound
I remember when the 92 Firehawk came out and how badass that was. Then with the body change in 93 the Formula Firehawk looked so cool with the different wheels and ram air hood but lost some power. This car is badass. I'd love to drive one to compair to my 94 Z28 M6.
"State of the Art sound system..." With ONLY a cassette player and am/fm..... Gotta love how far we've come with cars over the years. AWESOME car line!
I have one for sale with 55k miles it was also sent to Lingnfelter, it is a stage V Car with 448 horsepower, 6 speed from SRP T56, with true track 3:42 pOSI.
These are the cars that sent ford back too the drawing board they wouldn’t be able too see performance like this until they came with the supercharged 2003 cobra and the I can’t keep spark plugs in my cyl head 4.6 3 valve engine the coyote in 2011 help regain fords street credibility.✌️😊
I own a 95 firehawk, car number #160 Mine has the optional muffler, and suspension package. Slp used eibach springs, and bilstein shock/struts The ride is a little rough, campared to the 96 ss camaro i used to have. But it handles extremely good.
Challenger is way too heavy at 4000+ lbs as compared to 3400lbs for the little bird. I guess that's what you get when you try to build a musclecar on the same platform as a Chrysler 300.
The platform is really based of a e class mercedes. Sedan. It's been that way since the challenger, charger and 300c came out. They still are to this day. mopar is really german engineering as far as the chassis.
@grenade350 your CAI, a catback exhaust system, lowering springs, wider wheels/tires, and you'll pretty much be there. 25hp for the ram air is being overly optimistic though
Is it simple to upgrade my stock '95 Z28 to perform this well? Actually it's got the K&N CAI but otherwise stock. Sounds like I just need stickier rubber (those rims are nice too ^^) and new springs and control arms. Any input would be appreciated.
Is it possible? Yes. Is it simple? No. To get to these numbers and to this performance level will require a lot of modification and work. If you have the cash it shouldn’t be a problem
LOL I have no problem roasting those over weight pigs in my 93 Firehawk. I Beat a SRT 8 426 hp 2010 Challenger by 3 lengths from a roll on and a 375 hp RT Challenger by 5 lengths. If it would have been from a dead stop it would have been real ugly. Raced a 392 (475hp) Challenger from a dead stop and had him by a length to 70, then we ran into traffic. Those are much quicker and really pretty cars. I may have been able to hold him for 1320 ft. Dont really know.
I believe him. The LT1 had a lot of Torque and a few simple mods they poured out crazy power numbers. I own and modded both 97 and 99 Camaro's and those LT1/LS1 are no fuckin joke. I have won many races even when they were stock. They are very light and the power band is from 1400rpms to redline perfect power. You want to know why they still keep up with modern muscle? Take a look at the dyno graphs and see are the power just builds.
Power to weight ratio. LT1's have a lot of torque and can jump lots of faster cars. I know that my 98 Z28 LS1 with full bolt on's gave a supercharged SRT8 challenger a serious run for his money up until I got locked out of my 3rd gear shift.
Back in those days, when I was a fox body owner (with mods), I knew that if I didn't have a perfect launch on the F bodies that I was toast. I had to make them play catch-up or else. I still love the look of the F body.
im bout to buy me a 95 firehawk tommrow its #49 out of 569 6spd... been doing my resreach on them since i been looking at this one im very impress i feel like a fat kid getting choclate cake for his birthday
@camaroman101 Sweet, I'll be at that level soon with my '94 T/A. Just need to get my 17x9.5 front, 18x10.5 rear C5 Corvette rims. After that I'll be getting my port work done and most likely be making power figures in the high 300s or low 400s. =D
Derek Secrist I had a 1995 Fire Hawk #421 white light blue stickers bought new kept it until 2010 with only 5,740.miles big shame sorry I sold it, and in 2001 had a new Ram Air kept until 2009 and sold with only 7,600.miles ,, kicking my self for selling them. 22.K for Ram Air and 17.K. for Fire Hawk, I really wish. I still had them
If it was a 6 speed with long tubes , off road y pipe and a good tune/lower control arm relocation brackets and good street tires it would give you a run for its money
I don't know about roast Maybe if the firehawks driver is a shitty but with a proper driver that can launch the car properly it should have a slight edge on my 2015 Charger RT. 06 RT would get walked because the 2015 RT is the fastest RT so far with many magazines hitting 0-60 runs in the low 5s on stock shitty tires. I tend to spin my tires a lot on the launch and it takes a while to finally get traction.
This was very rare for GM to allow their flagship Corvette to be upstaged..hence the limited production...what a car for the value

Proud owner of car 396 here... Grew up with it in my garage, and the way I see it, I'm responsible for it until the next generation.

Still have my 95 #606 second owner bought in 98 with 3,000 miles. It has 32,000 now love that car.
I have a sweet 97 low mile Firehawk 6-sp It's White , Very Nice and Rare !

They are excellent sound systems for the era!
Yeah shame on them for not having Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay back in 1994 🙄
Damn!! This was my dream car...I always wanted one.

@@nsx1998 sold or still have it?
These cars are so beautiful. I watch this video everyday
Wow SLP, I used to make composite hoods for them.
And your pic is a bimmer... bro??? Eh thanks for helpin anyway. Respect
Do you happen to know what was up with the light wieght hoods for the 1991/1992 model? 3rd party supplier? Aluminum or also composite?
I miss my 94 FIREHAWK so mush... This video almost makes me want to cry.
Same here bro I feel your pain ....I miss 1994 red firehawk

Pontiac and Chevy under rated their muscle cars to not ruin sales of the corvette
"The Winda" LMFAO

Great reviews. It’s a shame he’s not around to do the hellcat
That's funny cuz I roasted a new challenger rt a couple weeks ago with my 97 WS6.
I wished SLP was still in business, it’s a damn shame that they closed their doors
They certainly brought a lot to the automotive world
The company is still in business and doing just fine in Tom's river New Jersey 🤣

Interesting, thanks JoA
Road Test Magazine and 1990's F Bodies!😄 Great!😄😁

The ride is much rougher in the hawks. I have 95 #326 and it rides much stiffer than either the 96 WS6 or the 96 Z28 I had.
Is it simple to upgrade my stock '95 Z28 to perform this well? Actually it's got the K&N CAI but otherwise stock. Sounds like I just need stickier rubber (those rims are nice too ^^) and new springs and control arms. Any input would be appreciated.

Would it beable to take my 2011 mustang gt 5.0?
It would give you a run for your money
@@505racing3 not stock. It would take full bolt on and heads/cams for an old lt1 to run with an s197 5.0
@@redfire281GT I've seen bolt on lt1s with a tune take 5.0s from digs all day

i have a 95 firehawk I might be selling its number 49 out of 569
nick s pussy

I got a red Firehawk with a rebuilt motor and headers with 1000 miles on it now for sale
Nice car, but nowhere near a 405HP ZR1 of 1994 in any aspect.
Pontiac was teasing people my 94 now has 400 horsepower

Its mr.tipton from ernest goes to camp! Mayor murdock from ernest scared stupid! Unreal lol.
