Hey hey, thanks for watching my fondle session with the Nokia 5710! Let me know what you reckon below and please ignore the Telegram spammy scamsters as usual - there's no giveaway, only ****s after your cash. Cheers!
The video on this got a bit late. Many tech yT channels made it a while ago. But Nokia 5710 is waste with the wireless earbuds as it does not have Sportify in it.
They've definitely missed a trick here not having access to Spotify. I have two phones due to work and I'd have no issue swapping one of the smartphones for this if it had access to Spotify. A phone like an old blackberry with earphones and access to Spotify would be great.
I think what they're now switching to is changing the design every 3 years (the third year would be the S23 or whatever it will be called, should theoretically look different to the S21/S22). If not then I have no clue what they're aiming to do with their flagship devices as it seems they'll put a design change into the ultra variant so going by that I think we'll have the new galaxy flagship looking similar to the S22 ultra or a combination of the S21/S22 ultra. If not they could throw us off completely as it looks like Apple is switching up the models so we may have a completely different set of models compared to the usual normal/plus/ultra variants
Unfortunately it doesn't look like this phone is gonna make its way to Europe and North America. It would it be hard to make it 4G LTE and even 5G compatible.
I have nothing but trouble with this phone. The reception is not good, the caller often only hears a distorted voice. The battery is already at the limit after five hours, "BATTERY ALMOST DEAD". SMS are not received. I just bough it - it is practically brand new. Now I'm again using my old phone and using this one as a mp3 player. I also thought about returning it because the bad battery siruation is a joke.
It seems like a great phone but one thing that comes to mind is one of the first Nokia phones with spotify compatibility, the N79. Now, finding such phone today 15 years later would be a kerfuffle but still... It had dual speakers, 3.5mm jack, wifi ( I believe), a really good camera and ran spotify through Symbian and gps. Does it work today? I don´t know. But at the time it was an epic little phone and would probably do it´s job even today. Oh and it had a fm transmitter so back then you could listen to your spotify on any radio and in your car.
Oh snap! This brings back a lot of memory indeed. I actually had the plain old version of this phone (Nokia 5710 Xpressmusic)..still even have the box in great condition. I got to watch reviews of this phone cos I am thinking of getting one, solely just as an mp3 player.
Good shout, as a chuck-in-the-bag MP3 player it'd definitely do the job, especially for that deep nostalgia buzz! I never had an XpressMusic, only the Sony Ericsson Walkman handsets, but I do love the design
I had a 5800 expressmusic not a bad phone, nice chonky design, built in s pen. Ridiculously good audio. Then I got a Sony Ericsson live with Walkman, and it blew the 5800 into the weeds. Volume 1 on the Sony with live switched on, was like 80% volume on the 5800. Full volume was like a Bluetooth speaker!
Get a new battery for the old xpressmusic, the sound quality (the quality of the hardware) is almost certainly infinitely better, if the very disappointing 5310 xpressmusic is anything to go by
Honestly I had a deep connection with these old school phone. Even I had to use one of these but four years ago, so if that had come in those days I would prefer to give this phone a shot because I only had the requirement of the music on the go in those days and I had my own collection so yeah this phone will do a great job for me in those time with those wireless buds 😍
@@Ark-sz6dp these phones had their own sort of nostalgia so it is sort of good seeing that they are gaining some love as per requirements of modern day of flagships. They are still behind though but the gap is the essence for me
@@asphalt1327 it was about time that Nokia adopted the BT 5.0 Le a2dp in it's line of feature phones, at least, Nokia could integrate wifi and hotspot, since it's a LTE device
I wish it was USB-C for those who wanted to use wired headphones. Still, I'd take this with me on vacation to a place where it ain't safe for a smartphone as No One would steal this.
If they made an android version, it would fly off shelves. I love the old school style OS, but I love seeing retrofit styles that hide powerful modern operating systems. I'd love to see them keep this version and do an Android version.
A KaiOS version of this phone would be great... Some basic integration with music streaming services would make this a great choice... I would make a really nice, round package. I just got this phone for my son who's now on a trip of exploring "retro tech".
I love these "new" Nokia feature phones. I live in the US and currently have the ones that can run on T-Mobile. I wonder if this one would run here too. I would be happy to ebay one if that's the case.
The quality is poor. Nokia should just put the N82 back into production exactly as it was. Symbian and far superior to these new gimmick feature phones in every single way.
Love the form factor and wireless earbud storage. Shame about the hard ear tips, lack of support for streaming music, lack of headphone socket... But with a few improvements I'd love to have something like this (with longer battery life, USB C charger, decent camera and ideally, for me, 3.5mm).
I tell you what! If Nokia added a better battery, add Wifi and more importantly it make a good hotspot/tethered on their retro phones, that could be a very handy device. Use the phones data and hotspot to use for a tablet or laptop. Would also be nice if these phones were NOT made in China like everything else these days.
I want this. Not much for nostalgia, never had one. Just because I like music and to be honest I am bored of slabs, I want to move levers, press buttons, and so on.
@@linndrumfan1959 for 320kbps it is enough for many albums. Having used DAPs with limitations and carrying different microSDs I know is not comfortable but not impossible.
They should revive Nokia 6700, the way it was with metal casing, 4G or 5G, at least a decent camera and a good screen and good specs like at least 4gb ram and 128GB storage
thanks for this - I do have a question for the earbuds to work does the phone have to connected to internet or not ? I only use a prepaid card for my mobile phone - thanks if you can
I can remember getting my Nokia 8210 in my early teens loved it and actually using it again at the moment 2 jobs 2 different phones so it's nice in my spare time to turn off my smartphone and live life and if I'm desperately needed guess what do what a phones for and call lmao. I admit I rely on my smartphones too much
No DAB? It should have a music streaming app either amazon, deezer or Spotify or an expandable storage slot for your music if you have a sd memory card with music on
I hope there will be android versions of this even just the lite one.. just for the basic features like messenger, video call and spotify and opening emails
They might as well have the kaios operating system if they're gonna do that. This phone looks awesome. A Bluetooth headset, fm radio, games, good speakers, and nostalgic. That's what I want.
Just like the one in the video is already very promising. :D I suggest to give it more time, so hopefully better features will be implemented, like: have usb type c, better buds for the wireless headset, sportify or any online streaming service along with 4g internet, etc :)
Would you say the size of the buds are bigger than the earpods or old airpods? Not a fan of in ears and the earpods are the most comfortable for my ears, but every clone I've tried is bigger and not comfy
To bad it didn't have a proper headphone jack. This phone could have been for me. SONY headphone jack (the prop. amplified) and FLAC and various format support. I don't stream music so i could have liked this. Podcast support and thouse earbuds couöd have been good as well.
My problem with the Nokia 5710 is that the battery is completely empty after just one day and the phone switches off. Most of the time I didn't even make a call. So the phone is not really used and yet the battery shuts down so quickly. Is there any power guzzler that can be turned off?
Well, someone must be buying these things for HMD Global to keep manufactoring them. Question is, who? I like the concept of integrated ear buds, but as you rightly point out they're a bit naff. HMD Global should have a range of more expensive ear buds that would fit in this phone that had silicon tips etc.

Spotify sucks. Im more worried about the actual sound quality, even when paired with decent earbuds. The 5310 xpressmusic 2020 was shit.

Phones getting fun again!
Just imagine if Samsung or Apple make such a unique phone, people would go crazy for it and willing to pay hundreds of pounds
DankPods is gonna have a field day with this
Would love to see this on his channel
@@Primus_075 It's gonna happen sooner or later
😂😂😂😂
I've been seeing you shouting out dankpods these past two days, something is smelling fishy
Its a pretty big nugget
Honestly I'll buy this phone for it's uniqueness alone.
If it would make its way to North America I'd make this my primary phone. If I need to have a full-blown internet experience I use a computer.
same
Even the camera takes pictures in a nostalgic quality!
I love that integration of the headphones, so smart. Getting tired of the same old galaxy every 2 years!

This should have been a collaboration with Spotify. Dedicated Spotify button and storage dedicated to it.
Would definitely make sense to have some streaming support, not just an FM radio...
That or an i heart app, tune in app, RUclips music app, or a SiriusXM app in addition to having the fm radio and an mp3 player.

@@ネメシス-h1z or a button that is a dedicated streaming one. One that you can customise to whichever service you use.
