I'm honestly not sure *what* Laurinaitis's lawyer is claiming. He *denies* Grant's allegations and called her lawsuit a "misguided complaint", but in the next sentence claims that Laurinaitis is a victim just like Grant.
What he means by "misguided complaint" is that her anger should be directed completely at Vince McMahon, and not John Laurinaitis. He's claiming that she's putting blame on a blameless source, and that Laurinaitis was "just following orders", like a Nazi soldier during WW2, and that he's not held culpable. *BS*
He's saying they did it but Vince made him do it!
"Vince forced me into it!" is certainly something to claim, although Laurinaitis seems to forget that over a decade ago he got demoted from his Talent Relations job by the company because he got caught banging a subordinate and then fired her afterwards; they had to pay out $1.5 million in an NDA to make her go away.
Hard to claim years later that doing *the exact same thing you got busted doing a decade ago* happened because you were afraid of what Vince would do if you refused.

According to reports, Vince was drafting up all those NDAs without the WWE's knowledge. He was signing them on the company's behalf. Which would make them unenforceable.
If that's true and the judge nullifies them, game over. Everyone will be free to speak if they choose to. No chance this goes to a jury trial now. It'll probably end in a massive settlement.
You can't be coerced or threatened to sign an NDA either. A judge can also nullify the NDA if it is used to cover up illegal activity...

Honesty, i think that WWE knew that this was coming out. In fact, I am inclined to think that this was all preplanned, and that once the Netflix deal went through, this information was leaked so as to blackball Vince. Which explains how Johnny Ace is now scrambling for a footing, and all but confirms that this did happen. The knives are out now, sharpened, and ready to be plunged into the back of Caeser.
Given the timing of this even on this show they thought there was a whistleblower that let either Nick Khan or the board know, "this Washington Post article us about to drop involving Vince, any big news you might want to announce right now" So Netflix deal comes out and The Rick becoming part of the board same day. Next day the Washington Pist article drops and it is a bombshell. So more than likely TKO ir someone very high up knew.
