  • If your rear engine riding mower won't go forward, you may have to replace your drive disc. This video shows how to do it. My mower now runs beautifully!

Thanks. I was trying to find out if there is supposed to be stuff inside the drive disc. The other videos didn’t show that

Excellect!!! At least you got the nerve to tackle it :) Now if it drove, very good. If it didn't, then you have to readjust the clutch spacing and the linkage. That is far more complicated. But for 8 out of 10, that will do just fine. Never never never get rid of that mower!!!! It is, without a doubt the best one ever built!!!! The first one I had lasted 22 years mowing my yard, my dad's and my grandmother's every week. I got so tired of working on my John Deere that I bought one out of a junkyard and rebuilt it!!! That one is now into the 5th year with no problems whatso ever!! The John Deere was sold. Don't need no more of that trash!

So nice to see a female making things happen. Not afraid to get her hands dirty either. Just remember using a torque wrench for loosening is not the purpose of the wrench. The torque wrench is to accurately achieve a specific thighness of fasteners. Removing tight nuts and bolts use a breaker bar and then a proper sized ratchet. You forgot to state the cost of the drive disk. Make sure you check the spring tension is set properly too. VF

The problem I am now finding is that the Stens aftermarket drive disc is packaged with the inside liner unattached in the package. There are no instructions.
I guess the inside piece needs to be bonded onto the disc. But not sure. The one on my mower now is just loosely inserted with no bonding. It drives fine but the braking isn't so great.
Sure wish someone would address this issue.

Greau video! I am now having issies with my brake/clutch cable not having enough tension to release and the brake os sticking to the inside of that disc and i can smell the rubber. There is a coupling on the cables holding them together, but its loose one both cables, allowing the coupling to slide on both. Shoild it be loose on both or tight on either?
