Excellent job and instructions about how to transform my Barbie house to a spooky mansion for my 22 yr old granddaughter who was born on the eve of Halloween and is such a natural gothic 🖤I am doing this to surprise her for her next birthday.
Mattel could make so much bank if they just made a limited run of Barbie houses that looked like this. Heck, make them seasonal and as a collectors item and you'd be reselling them on Ebay for $$$.
They seem committed to the ugly plastic pink and bright colors, and while I know they're "kid friendly", this video shows how CLASSY a simple quick repaint can turn garish into stunning.

amazing how upscale it starts to look as soon as you begin spraying it black.. i mean we understand that little kids like bright/fun colors, but just seems like the color stories of kids toys in the last 40 years just make everything look exponentially more cheap/tacky/plasticky than they need to..
I JUST got thus exact house at Goodwill for $1.59....no joke. Just cleaned and disassembled it and I can't wait to get going

That looks so pretty for a haunted house for Halloween now you need to look for some scary looking furniture even the Dollar tree furniture painted black make it look scary just put a few pieces in it just to make it look like old furniture from a haunted house that was left behind or something and get some of those fake skeletons and little ones from Dollar tree hang them out in there something I mean it's a cute little house for Halloween thanks for sharing it with everyone

They make a trigger handle for paint cans which is soooo much easier on your fingers and faster- i got mine at ACE hardware

You can buy a trigger handle that attaches to top of spray paint can. Easier on the fingers.

With COVID, I put my haunted dollhouse on a table with my candy and all of the neighbors loved it. The kids helped themselves to the candy and stayed to look at the dollhouse.

You should do more Halloween related videos! Loved this DIY! You are a pro with spray painting! Just a little advise for the blister on the finger for the next time: gloves! Doesn't do much against sore muscles in the finger, but prevent from blisters ;)

I love this video! I started this project at the beginning of October but stopped because I couldn't figure out how to paint the plastic. The acrylic paint doesn't stick to it so I'm thinking I might have to sand it first to rough up the texture so the paint sticks. Did you have that issue come up when you were painting it? If so, how did you solve it? The staff at Hobby Lobby were not helpful. Thanks!
Hmmm I’m not sure! When I spray painted it, the paint stuck perfectly! All I did was wash it beforehand. I only used acrylic paint for the details & it also stuck on well. Not sure what happened with yours!
My son so a doll house he liked in the store, and ofcourse it was every girly color you can think of… I think I’m going to buy it for him and paint it the colors of a regular house.

Before seeing others were doing the same, I did this with a fisher price house that a neighbor threw away. Even used a very similar tree .
A VERY ODD TIME TO LIKE THIS BUT I MADE ONE OUT OF CARDBOARD LAST YEAR AND IT WAS A TOTAL HIT BUT THE BLACK LIGHTING AND FLAME POT HELPED A LOT. LOVE YOUR IDEA AS WELL. THIS YEAR I'LL DO A 4FT CARDBOARD ONE AS THE LAST ONE WAS 16 INCHES HIGH! WE HAD 500 KIDS LAST HALLOWEEN IN SPITE OF C-19 AND I'LL PUT OUR HAUNT ON MY FACEBOOK PAGE SOON UNDER MY REAL NAME NORM LOR IF YOU'RE INTERESTED!!
