"Shuffle Along": George C. Wolfe on a "footnote" of 1921

As a Broadway Musical Theatre dork, I've read just about anything that has ever been written about it and I must say that while "Shuffle Along" is always mentioned as something influential (in 1921 that is), no one has ever rescued it from the dark corners of history and revealed it to us. I hope this thing becomes every bit the smash I think it deserves to be.
