    Working through your birth chart report I ordered and it is so compelling and beautifully done. Thank you for that! The aesthetic is so appealing and different from any other I’ve purchased from other astrologers. I have a question about interpreting Saturn. In my chart Jupiter is weak but Saturn in good dignity. How do I interpret “the symbols associated with a planet will be unusually good if in good dignity” when 1) the planet is Saturn with symbol “pessimism.” How do I interpret “good” pessimism? 2) Likewise, how do I interpret good dignity in D-5 misfortunes and accidents. Does strong here mean likely to cause them or prevent them? I understand your concept of “clashes,” contradictions I am not as clear on... 🙏🏻 Thank you

  • @mari2710br
    @mari2710br 3 года назад +1

    But in practice we realize that there are so many factors involved...people with debilitated venus having more fulfilling relationships than people with exalted venus, for example....the fact is that the interpretation of planetary dignity must be weighed by other factors - house placement, aspects, dispositor of the planet, if the planet is close to an angle of the chart, the situation of the houses ruled by that planet and I'd also look at the navamsha placement of the planet. I've seen people with several dignified planets being stuck in different areas of their life... the more I see charts the more I realize that dignity by itself (
    disconnected from other factors) give us just a little taste of the deep reality of the planet in question.

    What role do the nakshatras play in dignity? For example I have Saturn in Aries which is the sign of debilitation but it is in uttarabhadrapada nakshatras which is the height of Saturn energy. Do you take both of these into account or how do you choose to give more weight to one factor over the other?

    • @VicDiCaraAstrology
      @VicDiCaraAstrology  6 лет назад +3

      They don't play any role in dignity.
      But of course they do affect the planet, so although its not a part of the mathematical calculation of dignity, we have to be aware of how the nakshatra will fit into the picture.

      Thanks Vic! So is the overall dignity more powerful than the effects of the Nakshatra ruler? Is the order of impact something along these lines: 1)Dignity of the planet 2)Nakshatra of the planet 3)House the planet is sitting in 4)Dignity of the host of the house the planet is in?
      I understand that the best and only approach should be holistic. However, there is so much to consider and so many opinions. It is confusing. Rasi, Nakshatras, Padas and degrees should all be taken into account, correct? But when do said units of analysis matter? And if they all always matter, what is their order of importance? Please refer me to a video/book/class if appropriate.

    • @VicDiCaraAstrology
      @VicDiCaraAstrology  6 лет назад +4

      There's no such thing as a nakshatra ruler, in my opinion. The dignity of the host, conjunctions, and aspects must be factored in with the dignity from the sign in the main chart and the subdivisions, then you get total dignity. House position affects prominence, not dignity.

    What about the detriment of the planets as in Western traditional astrology. As an example of Jupiter, it exalted in Cancer, fall in Capricorn not totally detriment while in the Gemini or Virgo it is detriment no power left. What're your thoughts about this?

    • @VicDiCaraAstrology
      @VicDiCaraAstrology  3 года назад +2

      Same basic concept using the system of host/guest relations. The owner of the detriment sign is always inimical with the planet detrimented there.

    From what i have noticed:-
    If a planet (lets say mercury) is in an enemy or debilitation rashi (lets say Pisces) but if the owener (jupiter) is in is a Kendra or Trikona (even if it's in a enemy rashi) it can help mercury more than if Jupiter is in a friendly rashi but a difficult house (6,8,12). I could be wrong.

    • @rjtj530

      Rashi is like the mood of the planet. House is occupies decides the power. I could be wrong.

    Great vid!! I have Sun and Saturn in Hasta 9th, Saturn in Libra is exalted, but is combust with enemy Sun; sun is strong in 9th, weak in Libra and holds the lower degree at 7° and Saturn at 12°. How does combustion affect exaltation? I believe this is a Raj yoga, sun Saturn Jupiter 9th house Libra. Does combustion nullify own house and exaltation; especially if with enemies? Namaste~°*

    • @VicDiCaraAstrology

      Combustion doesn't affect dignity. It affects PROMINENCE - which will be the topic for the next video.

      The combust planet is invisible in the sky, the Sun's rays cover it. It's prominence isn't cancelled, but muted, and given over to the Sun.

  • @atulkamath6627
    @atulkamath6627 6 лет назад +1

    Hi Vic... Many thanks for this video.
    But, what about MoolaTrikona?? It's very surprising that you haven't attributed any "dignity" to such an important position/placement of a Graha!! Any particular reason?

    • @VicDiCaraAstrology
      @VicDiCaraAstrology  6 лет назад +2

      Moola Trikona is nothing but the male own-sign (except for Mercury and Moon). In my system I just give it slightly more dignity (95%). It is practically the same as own-sign.

    • @atulkamath6627
      @atulkamath6627 6 лет назад

      Nonetheless.. when the MahaRishis --- the originators of this divine knowledge --- have given a Graha's MoolaTrikona placement it's due prominence and pride of place, shouldn't it be adhered to verbatim; instead of omitting it completely and calling it "my system" ?? After all you are purveying that original knowledge, isn't it? Besides, going by your videos refuting Sam Geppi's "warped" Jyotish theories, I always thought you were an absolutely staunch 'purist". :)

    • @atulkamath6627
      @atulkamath6627 6 лет назад

      By the way, your above reply, w.r.t. Mercury, is erroneous because Virgo is also Mercury's MoolaTrikona Rashi from 16 to 20 degrees. It begins achieving exaltation from 0 degrees Virgo onwards, and is at its deepest exaltation point at 15 degrees Virgo. FYKI.

    • @VicDiCaraAstrology
      @VicDiCaraAstrology  6 лет назад +2

      I just told you I do not omit it. I give it 95% dignity, rather than 90%. This follows parashara's virupa system.
      Yes, Virgo is own, trikona, and exaltation.

    Hi Vic, one question is the harsha bala and the planet dignity the same thing?

  • @rohitv6757
    @rohitv6757 6 лет назад +1

    But this does not take house placements of planets in the divisional charts into consideration

    • @VicDiCaraAstrology
      @VicDiCaraAstrology  6 лет назад +2

      Nor does it take house placements of the main chart into consideration, because house placements influences the PROMINENCE of a planet, not the DIGNITY. I will cover prominence in the next video.
      I do not consider house placements in the divisional charts when calculating prominence either. Maybe I should, but it is something requiring research because it is not traditional or classic. Brhat Parashara, for example, does not consider divisional houses at all in calculating Ṣaḍbāla.

  • @aholegames4207
    @aholegames4207 6 лет назад

    Hi vic. Why doesnt the birth chart have more of a percentage compared to other charts? I thought that divisional charts show specific areas of life. If the birth chart is a snapshot of the totality of the person, why are the divisional charts given equal weight?

    • @VicDiCaraAstrology
      @VicDiCaraAstrology  6 лет назад +3

      As I mentioned in the video, they ARE weighted. The vargas are not all equally important. The weights are given in Parāśara Hora. The interesting and important thing is the the most weighty is the d60.

    I love the chart I ordered from you... but having such bad dignity, especially in two very prominent planets in my chart is worrisome. What can be DONE about bad dignity? I have two VERY prominent planets that are in 46-50% dignity (Jupiter and Venus). Is it basically just there’s a tendency for excess, hedonism, exaggeration, lust, etc, etc than benevolence, wisdom, good relations, joy and all that?

    • @OZCONSCIOUS
      @OZCONSCIOUS 3 года назад

      @@rabeechowdhury Yeah it’s annoying when you find out you got low dignity. It’s like ´well wtf do I do now?’ lol. I wish there was more solutions and practical things to DO about bad dignity, rather than just finding out oh you got bad dignity.
      However, I have found my low dignity to be true in life, in the sense that it’s hard for me to manifest Jupiter Venus topics the way I want, it always feels like the environment Im in doesn’t support it... but it’s led me to find creative means of expressing it.
      There must be some way to do it with your planets!

    • @VicDiCaraAstrology
      @VicDiCaraAstrology  6 лет назад +1

      No, only the ascendant vargas are highly sensitive to birth times.
      Incidentally, with the record keeping standards of modern times, the birth times are quite accurate

    • @atlantean1209
      @atlantean1209 6 лет назад

      VicDiCarasAstrology which ones are the ascendant Vargas? How often does the D9/D10 change?

    • @VicDiCaraAstrology
      @VicDiCaraAstrology  6 лет назад

      The ascendant's vargas. Only the ascendant moves quickly. So birthtime affects only the vargas of the ascendant. The planets move slowly, a few minutes of birthtime doesn't even affect their d60.
      d9/10 are about 3º. Ascendant moves 30º in 120 minutes. So d9 changes about every 12 minutes.
