- This video is to show you how I change the headlamp bulb on my 2013 Suzuki Alto. If you choose to do this yourself on your own vehicle, then you do so at your own risk. I can't be held responsible if you damage either yourself, or your car. If in doubt, please take it to your local garage, and they will do it for you.
Thank you for watching.
If you'd like to, you can buy me a coffee if you think this was useful to you. Thank you.

I cannot thank you enough sir. I am 68 and never changed a headlight bulb before. All the service stations were closed when I discovered my headlight out. I bought the bulb and came home, watched your video and voila! I did it!! Thank for the very helpful video
Thank you Helen for your lovely comment. I'm really pleased it helped you. I think seeing a job done first gives you some idea before starting yourself. There's a few other little jobs covered by my videos too. Thanks again. ☺👍
Thanks for the video. Just replaced my left bulb and it took me like 10 minutes. It's so much easier when you get to see someone do it first!
Thank you, glad it was of use to you.
Yess thank you very much from the Netherlands!!
Very nice video, I’ve got a clear understanding of how to replace a bulb now, thanks for posting
Thank you! super clear instruction, changed my bulb in one go and it's perfect
Thank you. I'm pleased it was helpful. ☺
top tip. mine went out . luckely the right side.
best to practice in daylight,
great video just changed my bulb in 2 minutes because of you thanks very much!
Thank you. Glad it helped you. 👍👍
Thanks David. Very useful video
Thank you
Thank you for the informative video. I just replaced my left headlight bulb. The only difficulty I had was that the rubber cover had become hard over time, so I needed a flat-bladed butter knife to assist with prising the rubber cover
Thanks for your video from France! Very useful! 🙏
Merci David !
Thank you buddy .. it helps me
The only thing that would have made this more useful would be mentioning the buld replacement code, everything else confirmed what I thought I should be doing so thank you.
Yes I could have. The only thing is if a different model had a different type of bulb. Should say in the book which one it is. Thank you for watching and pointing this out though. ☺️
Thanks, just now did it the same why you told. Thanks :)
Many thanks, very helpful.
With your help i changed my Bulb at mid night..
Thsnk you. Glad you managed it ok. It's always difficult in the dark isn't it!
thank you sir
Thank you for this very nice video! I will go try it out now.
Thank you. Take your time and don't force anything, and you'll be fine. Good luck. David.
Thanks David! I took my time and it really was easy! :)
That's good then, glad you managed it OK. If you find that light isn't quite level with the other one when you turn it on in the dark... It'll be that the bulb isn't seated properly before fitting the retaining clip. Just needs re-seating if so. It's most likely OK though. Thank you again. Regards. David.
thank you very much!
Thanks..... This helped me.
That h7 bulb
thanks too you
Thanks
cheers
thanku sir to teach these details about alto car i have maruti alto 800...
Thank you. I hope it helped you.
@@DavidGarside i will try tomorrow sir and if i have any question then i will ask u.
@@danishbeg1379 OK. Take your time and don't force anything....good luck.
@@DavidGarside ok sir do u know the new bulb price ..
You saved my time once again Sir ;D
You are the only one person posting videos about alto in all the internet :D
Do You know if Alto got cabin filter?
Regards
Thank you for that, much appreciated. Mine doesn't appear to have one as I don't have air-conditioning, but other models might do. I will do a bit of checking to find out.
Thank you again.
I've had a good look on mine and I think the only place it could be located is behind and slightly above the glovebox. There's what looks like a cover about 8" wide and about 1" high but isn't detachable on mine. It might be where a filter is located on another model. If you have one, could you let me know. Thank you.
@@DavidGarside Thanks for reply. Sure. I will check it as soon as I can then let You know. Have good day :)
Sir ,sorry for late respond. I couldn't find cabin filter looking under glove box but I found this video and I think in alto should be the same .
Regards !

Great video tutorial. Can you also demo how to adjust the beams from L-R (or R-L) and also Up and down? not sure which way I should rotate the knobs (or if I am rotating the right knobs). :) Thanks in advance.
Morning Avhen. Thank you for watching and your comment. I normally only make videos of jobs I actually need to do or have done. I will have a look for you but I don't really want to move them as they're perfectly aligned at the moment. Park on a flat surface about 25 feet from a wall. Mark two chalk marks the same height as your headlights and you can see if they're out of line. Try each adjuster a little at a time and you can see where the lights are going and adjust accordingly. Hope that helps. A garage would probably do them for you very cheaply too, better as they have the proper alignment kit.
Thanks for the website
would you be making any videos on changing suzuki alto outside door handles? I have a 2002 model and now 2 of the 4 door handle are broken...don't know if it's a common problem for others too, just a thought, thanks again!
I'm not planning to unless mine need changing. Mine is also a later model so you may find it's different which may cause you a problem. I'm not aware if it's common fault with them. I think there's a Suzuki Alto forum on line. If you join it, you should be able to get more information from other members who will have a similar model to yours. I hope this helps you. Thank you.
Hi David, first, wanted to say thanks for great and helpful videos! I have a problem with my alto (2011), when I switch from the second to the third level of the headlight knob, nothing happens, it stays in the second state of the parking lights, and the dashboard lights. The high beam is working fine. Can you please try to help me with that issue? Thanks :)
Hi SD. Thank you for watching. Bearing in mind I'm no mechanic or auto electrician, I would first check the bulbs themselves ( unlikely both dipped beams have gone at the same time), followed by the fuses and relays relating to the headlights. Failing that, I personally would suspect the switch or connection somewhere. If that doesn't give any answers then I would get in touch with an auto electrician. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful than that.
Please let me know how you get on and the solution. Thanks again.
@@DavidGarside Thank you very much for the answer, you already helped a lot! Is it possible that the high beam works but the low one doesn't? even if it's the same bulb?
Anyway, I guess I will go to an auto electrician. I will update.
The headlamp bulb has both the dipped and main beam filaments in them so yes, the main beam could work and the dipped be faulty, or the other way round too. Hope that helps too. Good luck.
Just a thought. Search dipped beam faulty on RUclips.... You may find some other videos that will help. 🙏🙏
@@DavidGarside Will do :) Thanks
thanks for your video what type of headlamp bulb have?
Mine is a 60/55w H4. Hope this helps. Thank you for your comment.
@@DavidGarside thanks for your comment I have the same car but 2014 thanks for fast message
Is there any customization options for headlights? Like changing the colour of fog lamps/day time running lights
Hi there. My particular model doesn't have fog lights or DRL's so I can't answer that one. I think it's illegal to changed their colour on the front anyway. There's a Suzuki Alto group on Facebook of you're on there, lots of custom idea too which you may find useful. Thank you for your comment.
@@DavidGarside uh-huh thanks mate
I have an alto 2008-2014. I want to ask. To change the front lights do I have to remove the bumper first?
I didn't have to on mine to change the bulb, not sure if you're changing the whole light unit though. Hope you manage to do it ok. Thanks for watching. ☺
Saves my bacon*
Didn't mention the exact type of bulb. I think it's a H4?
@newsgetsold . Yes, I think it is, but should tell you in your manual.
Thank you
Thank you
No problem. Hope it helped.
David Garside Great help
David Garside
car horn doesn't work
Do you have idea
Zooro mark. Hello. I would check the fuse first, if it's blown, replace it, but if it blows again then you have a short circuit somewhere. You would need a meter to check further. Get it checked at a garage, that's the safest option. Hope you find it.
