Prenc Audio - Kinglake Drums Demo & Mix Walkthrough

No talking, just showing you guys my settings on screen and what my go-to plugins are. The first verse of this song is weird, I just threw some dark trance samples in there because my inspiration striked, haha.
Also, my mix buss, which I didn’t show plays a key role here:
- EQ (making everything mono below 100hz)
- Trimmer (turning down the gain going into the next plugin)
- SSL Buss Compressor (3dB of gain reduction on snare hits, 1dB on kicks)
- Tape saturation
- Gullfoss for the last few percent
- Limiter to catch all the transients
I am no pro, this is just my approach to a drum mix.

Sounds really great man. You should just enlarge the low end of the bass so it locks in with the kick imo.

I don't have the Gojira one. Kinglake is awesome for aggressive styles.

Those are the toms, rack 1, rack 2, floor 1 and floor 2. Disto is just a distortion channel.
