  • Learn how to make an incredible boiled and fried cassava dish in this episode of #TastyTuesdays with Chris De La Rosa of CaribbeanPot.com Cassava is boiled then fried with pieces of salted cod, herbs, tomatoes and other flavorful ingredients, for a classic Caribbean Dish.
    You'll Need..
    1-2 lbs cassava
    2 tablespoon olive oil
    1/2 cup prepared salted cod

    1/4 bell pepper
    1/2 scotch bonnet pepper

bruh that trini accent is fire - it's like calypso music. it's Friday in lent, I was looking for fish dish. I am Ugandan, I would have loved fried cassava, fried nile perch, avocados and tomatoes instead thanks to your vid, I will have cooked and then fried cassava, fried mackerel, tomatoes, garlic, onions, parsley and then top it up with fresh avocado - yah man.

chris i love your saltfish casava recipe it is simple and effective and to the point, what i like about it, is that though it is simple it looks very rich with all the ingredients added and it does not take long to prepare, keep up the good work.

    1000% Guyanese dish.
Its usually potatoes, cassava, and plantain, or whatever substantial root veg you cooked. This style of cooking was to use up food left over from the night before. If you made it from left over Methem, you did a quick fry up in the morning, and you would also have yu duff in there from the Methem.
Add onion but no tomatoes as it makes it wet.
