Was written by Andrew Farriss about his newborn daughter: “Beautiful Girl was on our Welcome To Wherever You Are album, which I think went in at No 1 in the UK. At that time, we were playing stadiums around the world and for INXS that was a really big thing. I wrote it because my eldest daughter Grace was born on 10 June 1991 and three weeks after that we were performing at Wembley Stadium. I didn’t live in England at that time so for me to leave my first child to go and perform was a big thing. Leaving the intimacy of my family to go to a foreign country - which England was and wasn’t at that stage, we loved the Brits, always did - but the point was when I wrote the lyric for that song I started off writing about Grace."
If you see the real video , instead of this crap someone put together, you would understand the depth of this song. Which is that we are destroying the souls of our girls by valuing unachievable physical beauty above all else. Too bad you missed it.❤
INXS has several different sounds, they do not have to be rocking to sound great. One of my favorite bands of all time and Michael's voice is missed so much especially in today's music.
The original video for this song that deals with women's issues with body image, weight, fashion choices gave a different feeling to this song and I felt it was more powerful. Check it our.
You two need to check out INXS' concert at Wembley Stadium in 1991. Start with the performance of the song "What You Need". It's one of those epic concerts with masses of people and unbelievable energy! I rate it as highly as Queen's concerts. Also, what was this video!? Some random footage cobbled together? Bit of a fail, sorry to say!
The original video for this was about destructive body images. The song is sensual, but the video had girls battling obesity, bulimia, etc. It was ahead of its time, for 1994. It was one of the last major hits of his life. It also came from an underselling but critically acclaimed album. Maybe a lot of folks felt like Jay when hearing the album and missed the more in-your-face sexiness of KICK-era INXS.
Know how an actor can become typecast and end up only getting a certain type of role? This can happen with bands, also. INXS is in my top 5 favorite bands, sensational music. After listening to several of their more high-octane songs, this one might seem a bit out of place for these guys. As much as I love their full-tilt bangers, I also love their diverse works. To me, it keeps them from becoming typecast. We love Billy Idol for "REBEL YELL" and "MONY MONY", but when we hear "SWEET SIXTEEN" and "SUMMER RUNNING", we know he'll never be typecast. It's the same with INXS. Glad you chose to revisit them. Next time, check out "SUICIDE BLONDE" ruclips.net/video/Ma4TOv2f_WY/видео.html and you'll be in familiar territory. ;)
Beautifull song about a serious topic. This is a fan made video with clips from their various videos..that have nothing to do with the topic of the song. Bizzare compilation. It does sound a bit monotone as Jay said, but as Amber says its on purpose and you get into it the more it goes on. The official video helps make more sense and enhances the message.
Come on! Time to do a live performance INXS are at their best live! Highly recommended Wembley stadium in 1991 Live Baby Live. Start with the opening song Guns In The Sky Thanks ❤
If you want to see INXS at their absolute best, check out the full live concert performance of “Live Baby Live”. Easily one of the most iconic concerts of all time. And you would love hearing the Sax live.
INXS is one of my favorite bands besides Duran Duran from the 80's era. This band made so many incredible songs & albums until the day Michael Hutchence died. This is a beautiful song. This isn't the original video, but a mash-up of videos. The song is simple and it is done this way so that the focus can be on the story. You could easily have gotten swept up in making it all about the music & himself, but this song is about the feeling. Other INXS songs to react to - "Original Sin", "Not Enough Time", "Suicide Blonde", "Calling all Nations", "Kiss the Dirt", "Good Time (with Jimmy Barnes - from the Lost Boys soundtrack)".
You've done a lot of INXS for sure but there is a video for a song you need to see. Mediate is a short song but they did something with the video that makes me still remember it almost forty years later.
As others have said, it’s unfortunate you did not pull up the official video. You would have had such a different reaction! In one of the very early reactions, Amber said that INXS is now her favorite band along with Pink Floyd. It is time for you to experience more live performances because you will fall in love with all of the band members - and they will rise to the top! They were one of the best live bands ever. You have to do something from Wembley-either Suicide Blonde or Original Sin or Lately or Guns in the Sky or truly anything from that concert. 74,000 were at that concert so the energy is surreal. Then if you can do this, please check out Bitter Tears from Saturday Night Live. Even Jay will have a Man Crush. Next, Good Times with Jimmy Barnes. Either live or the video - both are great. And a few earlier songs like Kiss the Dirt (Falling Down the Mountain)- it has one of the best drops ever- and I Send a Message would round things out. Then we will have to do some later songs. You should start with Elegantly Wasted or the live version of Searching from the 1996 Aria awards- Gut wrenching performance by Hutch.
OMG INXS. I am so happy. I can't express my gratitude enough. Thank you for my boy. Michael RIP. I am so in love with every aspect of them. Canadian Grandma Lori. C.
When you take this song in the context of the whole album, it takes on a different vibe. Definitely my favorite INXS album. So cool from start to finish. The song Communication is AWESOME!
INXS - Suicide Blonde / Bitter Tears U2 - Desire / Angel Of Harlem AC/DC - You Shook Me All Night Long Billy Idol - Hot In The City / Cradle Of Love Baby Bash - Suga, Suga Mark Morrison - Return Of The Mack George Michael - Monkey Peter Gabriel - Shock The Monkey Eurythmics - Would I Lie To You Annie Lennox - Walking On Broken Glass Culture Club - Church Of The Poison Mind Naneh Cherry - Buffalo Stance David Lee Roth - Just A Gigolo / California Girls Live - I Alone / Turn My Head / Selling The Drama
I think it's a beautiful song. Light and airy music, an intimate and sultry voice and the deep lyrics and message in the original music video. Every time I hear it randomly it makes me happy and nostalgic. I also like another INXS ballad “By My Side”. But, to keep Jordan satisfied, another vote for "Suicide Blonde"!
Please hit INXS' album The Swing. Strings, great and unpredictable arrangements, jazz, punk and alt rock influence. The *entire album* is great, but "Original Sin", "Johnson's Aeroplane", "I Send A Message" and the funky swing of "Face The Change" are faves.
I know he sings the lyrics to a “beautiful girl”, but i often find myself singing the line “stay with me” to Michael himself. As if he could hear me, somehow wouldn’t have left us
The official video is all about what women do to themselves to try to conform with society's ideals of beauty. very powerful and what this song is really about.
This is my favorite song by INXS. One of the few songs I can still remember where I was and what I was wearing when I heard it. So vivid still. The lyrics are so meaningful. ❤
@robsquadreactions I don't know if you didn't know this was NOT the official video, or you saw the official video and didn't think it was suitable, but this sanitised (fan made?) montage of OTHER INXS videos doesn't reflect the song and the message behind it. IF you did see the official video and decided against it, in that case you missed the point and should have avoided the reaction if it was a problem, because it's a powerful, moving video that deserves to be seen.
Thank-you J. for being honest about not caring for this & yet you also tell us with such respectful tact. It is much appreciated. As to the song - I don't know what it sounded like in your studio, but at this end it doesn't sound like it was a very good recording of the song that you got your hands on. I don't know if that could have anything to do with your not caring for this or not J. For myself, I love this song. It is so gentle & sweet. I find it truly beautiful - even though this version didn't come across the headphones very well. (I have known this song for decades so I had it going properly in my head.) Next, you should try "Suicide Blonde." (It's named after a hair dye colour). I think that this is one that you will like better J. - & Amber of course as well.
Yes, Great song! My favorite from this album is "Not Enough Time" though (Also a slower song, for Amber). For Rob, looking for more rocking type songs from them, check out "What You Need"! Other songs to look at, "Bitter Tears", "Suicide Blonde", and "Heaven Sent".
if you're going to run INXS, you need to hear their biggest party song, "Good Time Tonight" with Jimmy Barnes (and kinda stunned you haven't done that yet)
Sounds like you would prefer something "live at Wembley" that rocked, lots of songs to choose from, recommend "new sensation". Great and interesting band. The drummer, keyboard player and one of the guitarists are brothers. The sax player married a seven time women's surfing world champion 🇭🇲

Was going to write the same! Love this but my favorite is Disappear
I mean when you read the lyrics, this story just sounds like he confused this song with another song! Maybe Baby Don't Cry haha
"Suicide Blonde" , "Elegantly Wasted" and "Bitter Tears" are all excellent songs by INXS. Definitely check them out sometime.
Strangely enough, I was thinking the same 3 songs!🤯
I had forgotten how awesome Elegantly Wasted is.
All much better songs, I think "Bitter Tears" is particularly overlooked as it have such a great vocal from Michael. Love that song.
I'd add "Not Enough Time".
@@JaDav40 Another beauty.
Please go back and find the official video. It brings a whole new meaning to the song.
Amen!
It wasn't INXS's meaning, though.
If you see the real video , instead of this crap someone put together, you would understand the depth of this song. Which is that we are destroying the souls of our girls by valuing unachievable physical beauty above all else. Too bad you missed it.❤
I agree
Absolutely! The original video paired with the song sends a powerful message.
The audio quality was terrible
That video is powerful. I am adding link to the comments
I hate fan videos like this. Dumb.
Too bad that is not the official video. The official is quite moving.
That was the original official video. MTV changed it.
My favorite INXS song, still listen to it often
Their song Original Sin is a funky treat! Produced by Nile Rodgers.
They definitely need to hit that one
INXS has several different sounds, they do not have to be rocking to sound great. One of my favorite bands of all time and Michael's voice is missed so much especially in today's music.
Such a beautiful song! I never tire of hearing it. Thanks for reacting to it!
The original video for this song that deals with women's issues with body image, weight, fashion choices gave a different feeling to this song and I felt it was more powerful. Check it our.
Inxs Hits: New Sensation, Devil Inside, Need You Tonight, What You Need, Suicide Blonde...........etc. etc. They have a vast catalog of great music.
This song is off their most experimental album that they ever did- and my favorite album. The whole album is killer. Welcome to Wherever You Are.
You two need to check out INXS' concert at Wembley Stadium in 1991. Start with the performance of the song "What You Need". It's one of those epic concerts with masses of people and unbelievable energy! I rate it as highly as Queen's concerts.

Ugh! You need to see the official video! It means so much!!
Kiss the dirt (falling down the mountain) another great track - well worth a reaction

that was 1992
Suicide Blonde live at Wembley is a must from them. That whole stadium was bouncing. I think you guys would love it.
Know how an actor can become typecast and end up only getting a certain type of role? This can happen with bands, also. INXS is in my top 5 favorite bands, sensational music. Thanks ❤
Any song from that concert will make you fall in love with all of them no matter who you are!
100% For me the perfect concert, best live performance I have witnessed!❤️🔥❤
As soon as I heard that piano intro it all came back!
This is one of my favorite bands. Kiss The Dirt(Falling Down a Mountain) is a great song by them.
How have you not listened to Suicide Blonde yet. The harmonica play is insane.
If you want to see INXS at their absolute best, check out the full live concert performance of “Live Baby Live”. Easily one of the most iconic concerts of all time. And you would love hearing the Sax live.
You need to watch them live! Suicide Blonde live at Wembly is so good! Really, any song at that concert is good
Inxs- By My Side
You can thank me after 🙌💙

Good Times is the bomb!!! Live or the video
Actually not Dylan or Orbison, this is a song Lou Reed could've done, and that monotone is I'm positive Hutchence homage to Lou Reed.
I just wanted to write the same 😊
Listen to Suicide Blonde next by INXS. Great harmonica lick on that one.
You've done a lot of INXS for sure but there is a video for a song you need to see. Mediate is a short song but they did something with the video that makes me still remember it almost forty years later.

Must check out “Suicide Blonde” and “The Stairs!”
Great choice ! This is a beautiful song. You should also hear (if you haven't heard it yet) need you tonight , by my side and suicide blond.
OMG INXS. I am so happy. I can't express my gratitude enough. Thank you for my boy. Michael RIP. I am so in love with every aspect of them. Canadian Grandma Lori. C.
Love this band and this song. ty
“Suicide Blonde”. Some jammin harmonica!
The version in Wembley pleeease!
Yes, Live Baby Live at Wembly. That concert is great!
When you take this song in the context of the whole album, it takes on a different vibe. Definitely my favorite INXS album. So cool from start to finish. The song Communication is AWESOME!

Beautiful Girl and The One Thing are my favorite INXS songs.
I'm a rocker from Alabama and somehow my 2 favorite bands were AC/DC and INXS they couldn't be much different besides both being Australian.
R.I.P. Michael! Loved INXS
RIP Michael..🙏
Best song I have heard in a long time on this channel
Mmmmm dunno, i remember another video for this song, not this "collage".
Absolutely one of the most beautiful songs ever written
I'm with Amber on this one. It's such a sweet and beautiful song. Easily can relisten to it a lot
Im so glad you found something other than a well known top 10 hit. Glad you are reaching out. Brilliant song. Try INXS By My Side…..equally brilliant
I know he sings the lyrics to a “beautiful girl”, but i often find myself singing the line “stay with me” to Michael himself.
As if he could hear me, somehow wouldn’t have left us
I always sing that line too!
Falling down the mountain is 🔥 (kiss the dirt)
Yes!
One of my favs!
The drop gives me chills!
‘The Stairs’ live
“Heaven Sent” is a great INXS tune you haven’t reacted to.
I think the word Jordan is looking for is 'subtle'. A punch in the face gets your attention but so can a glance. Love them both.
This always gives me Velvet Underground vibes for some reason. A cute song, definitely 😊
It's an homage or rip off of Sweet Jane by Lou Reed. I'll pick the former
@@saintndacity4814 glad it's not just me 🥰 Have RSR done any Velvet Underground yet? I love, I'll be Your Mirror.
@@saintndacity4814More of a Sunday Morning feel.
I agree with some of the others, “Suicide Blonde” for the next INXS song, if you haven’t already. 👍
The official video is all about what women do to themselves to try to conform with society's ideals of beauty. very powerful and what this song is really about.
You would really enjoy the live version of Good Times. INXS and Jimmy Barnes together. Jimmy is an Australian legend.
Weird video clips from all the other INXS Videos. Not the original video for Beautiful Girl.
Ruined their reaction for me.
Oh, I'd almost forgotten about this one! One of their greats!
Beautiful.it’s definitely one of my favourites
Oh! Come on now! You've enjoyed slower songs than this one! So pack it in! Lol
I love INXS!!! It's one of the greatest bands that ever existed! ❤😍 I agree with Amber.
One of my fav INXS Songs ever !
This song always kind of gave me an early 80's Rolling Stones vibe in the vein of "Waiting on a Friend"
Yes, and also a John Mellencamp vibe.
Always Loved this song! Haven't heard it in Years... Thanks guys!!!
Amber´s analysis for the songs...always on point...
Michael Hutchence doing his best Lou Reed impression.
My favorite inxs song
Mine too 💜
My favorite INXS song.. and it ain't even close.
This was always my favorite INXS song along with "Mystify"...
He was a beautiful soul
This is my favorite song by INXS. One of the few songs I can still remember where I was and what I was wearing when I heard it. So vivid still. The lyrics are so meaningful. ❤
Once again, Amber gets it and Jay has no clue.
It's Moody and subdued and I Get It.. I absolutely Love the 80s!
I must be blessed today cuz I got three of my favorites in a row and pretty much in accordance to how they line up in a row with me as well
Wow! Finally! I love this song.
Suicide blonde definitely try the live version
"Suicide Blonde" its the must!
Love INXS. Another vote for Elegantly Wasted.
Shine is my favourite track from Elegantly Wasted album.
@robsquadreactions I don't know if you didn't know this was NOT the official video, or you saw the official video and didn't think it was suitable, but this sanitised (fan made?) montage of OTHER INXS videos doesn't reflect the song and the message behind it.

Should do their "Elegantly Wasted" next...
Shine is a favourite of mine from Elegantly Wasted album.
My favorite INXS song❤❤❤
Finally someone reacts to one of the best songs of the best album (my opinion), this is the more alt rock and mature sound of inxs
Speaking of Beautiful Girls; Amber, you are an inspiration!
I think if this had been their first INXS song, they would’ve responded differently
Another amazing lead singer taken before his time 😢 so many great inxs songs.
This song came from their 1991 album called "welcom to wherever you are ". Check out another hit from it called heaven sent!
Kiss the dirt by INXS
Thank-you J. for being honest about not caring for this & yet you also tell us with such respectful tact. It is much appreciated.

The piano in the beginning of this song is my ringtone😊
The song conveys vulnerability, I personally loved it.
It's a great song, learn how to chill and listen to some awesome music.
Kick, Same Direction, To Look at You
if you're going to run INXS, you need to hear their biggest party song, "Good Time Tonight" with Jimmy Barnes (and kinda stunned you haven't done that yet)
❤Next: inxs suicide blonde in Wembley!!!!❤
Love INXS saw them way back in the 80’s one of my favorites is Mystify… another great one is Mediate
Where the music video ? One of thier best music videos ever!
Sounds like you would prefer something "live at Wembley" that rocked, lots of songs to choose from, recommend "new sensation". Great and interesting band. The drummer, keyboard player and one of the guitarists are brothers. The sax player married a seven time women's surfing world champion 🇭🇲
