- I thought it would be interesting to see how busy a Ukrainian restaurant in Moscow would be, given the conditions right now. I also never tried Ukrainian food so I thought it'd be a good opportunity. I was pleasantly surprised! How did you like this restaurant in Moscow?

Not probably. It's deadly. Literally. But no Nazis in Ukraine, right?

I'm German and returned also just two weeks ago. It was amazing how well mannered the people were. Clean streets, beautiful people, no graffiti and very safe. I loved it.
When I was a child 25 years ago in Moscow I have been told by many people that Germany is way more clean because people really care about it there and we are not. I guess it was mostly based on DDR memories though or on some older times anyway.
So you can stay there... good luck! 😉
Danke dir!
Yes so you went to the nice parts of Moscow or Ste Petersberg. You see what you want to see. Admittedly German cities are a cesspit now.

I was born and raised in Ukraine. Ukrainians and Russians are one people. Since the 10th century there has been a single state. We speak the same language, have a common cuisine and culture, everyone has no less relatives in Russia than in Ukraine. And the civil war between Ukrainians and Russians has already happened more than once, starting from the 16th century. Only in the past it was provoked by the Poles, Turks, Austrians and Germans. And everything always ended in fitting.
Why the Ukrainians fall in the trap of others other countries , they are doing in purpose just for their own interests , not for “” love”” for ucranianis , don’t be so naïve
Wars are started by politicians andCommon man suffers
The slavs should unite instead of killing each other
While ukrainian hated everything russian. And mind you it’s before the war. There are millions of ukrainian living in russia even before the war. Russian never hated ukrainian. Everything is just fine between them til western countries try to divide them
Until comedy become war... Z for joker zelensky..
Well, we did have a bit of a toxic history, but it was mostly banter (for example, the word "khokhol" doesn't necessarily have any bad connotations to it). I remember how in the 2000's in Russia we used to make fun of Ukraine for stealing our gas from the pipeline going through their territory. It was something of a popular meme back then.
Russian maybe never hated Ukrainian but he displayed disdain frequently enough to create animosity. I don't mean official level I mean day to day interactions between people. There was a famous joke about USSR army: there were Russians, non-Russians and Hohols (disrespectful name for a Ukrainian). So while a Russian acknowledges common historic roots preventing him to call a Ukrainian non-Russian, he non the less frequently choses to humiliate him. And this is how a Russo-Ukrainian war becomes possible. There's a major part of people who go there to "teach them a lesson" regardless of the NATO involvement. On Ukrainian side it's the same, while rationally many people understand the suicidal nature of the conflict for Ukraine, there's enough "offended Hohols" who are ready to continue fighting.
Taras Bulba comes from the folk hero character in the novel, "Taras Bulba" who's a pro-Russian Ukrainian Cossack that resists occupation by the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
"Ukrainian cossack" is wrong in itself. No such thing. Except for SOME cossacks living on the territory of Ukraine. And you can take it from the novel itself. Gogol makes a clear distinction between cossacks and Ukrainians. The cossacks he always calls "zaporozhtsy" which only refers to them as cossacks from Zaporozhie Sech(the political and military center of the Zaporozhie cossacks). And he also calls them "Russian knights" for what it's worth.
That said in the novel cossacks do refer to Ukraine as their homeland and make a distinction between Moscovia and Ukraine. Given the fact that they consider themselves Russians it is the truth unpleasant to modern day ukrainian nationalists. Ukraine was a separate country. Only a large part of it's population considered ithemselves Russians, just as it is today. So Russians lived in different countries not unlike some other peoples throughout history.
Cossacks are a quite unique phenomenon. Over time they created an own culture and tradition, but they were Russian in origin and always considered themselves that.
@@gogaonzhezhora8640 how can you be a country with no government or army? Name one Ukrainian king or president prior to 1991?
@@vwilhelm5788 Oh, you can be a country in a great many ways. I won't lecture you on the history of the world. Just to throw you off a bit. Vatican is a country. It has no army and it's "government" is probably very different from your understanding of a government. Also it is a country way more powerful than any form iof Ukraine that ever existed.
You are just missing the point. the point with Ukraine is:
1. You can't win a war if you rely 100% on foreign powers to supply EVERYTHING, including commanding your army which is essentially your army only in name and by the origin of most of it's soldiers.
2. The legitimacy of the entity that was called Ukraine ended in 2014. No matter how you turn it. They broke the constitution they all signed up for. Which essentially makes Ukraine non-existent since 2014. Nobody even cares what was before 1991.
3. Ukraine as a territory has a long history. It is now a territory populated by people, most of them brainwashed to an extent that puts Third Reich to shame. This territory will once again be under someone's rule. It's inevitable. The failed state that ended 2014 can't be resurrected anyway though.

Been to Russia and Ukraine, have never been able to tell the difference between Russian and Ukrainian food lol
There is a difference. If you put the nonsense borsch debate aside there are distinct dishes only typical to russian or ukraininan cuisine. BUT Southern Russia and Ukraine have a lot of overlap there.
There is no big difference between the two foods, except for some nuances. The same can be said about the nation
Truthfully there is no difference. Taras serves high quality traditional food, the Ukrainian angle is a gimmick to attract tourists

Borsch is definitely NOT polish. Ukrainian/Russian - no difference. Just don't tell the Western Ukes. They are Polish/Lithuanian mix.
The cuisine is the same 99%
Borsh is Lithuanian 😊
It looks like a lot of Polish food, which I am currently still cooking from time to time.
if you gonna talk with ukrainian about it, he would tell you that all that dishes were invented by ukrainians, but these russians, polish and belarussians just steal their food and culture, they like to argue about such shit
borsh very delicious

Russian says ukrainian are Russian
I follow many telegram channels and sometimes when ukrainian and Russian argue because of the military conflict, Russians call them as little Russia
Don't touch everything with your hand 😂
There are over 5,2 million Ukrainian who fled their country between 2014 and 2022 to escape from the repression of the Kiev regime, and were well received in Russia. Most of them have re-built their lives there.
I know it well, my wife's family (who obviously is from Ukraine) counts among them.

Putler bot, shut up your dirty mouth
So many historians, food experts, and geo political experts in the comments , I got sidetracked and never watched the video.
Whoever makes it better is the one who invented it 😉
So my grandma invented it
Guys, there is no T in borsch. It’s just ‘borsch’. 😂
Borsh is UA/RUS soup by ancient lore
You always know when your comments are deleted that some people don’t like to hear the truth
And they’d arrest u in Ukraine if u had a Russian place open

Idk about Ukrainians or Russians but sure it wasn’t poles to invent Borsh, that is 100%.
No.Borsh invent Senegal🤣
It's also 100% not Ukraine, because Borsch is older than it.
@@Disorder2312 how? Ukraine exists since at least 11th century
@@horoshkoaleksandr273 No, it doesn't.
@@Disorder2312 yes, it does. And Kievan Rus(ancient Ukrainian folk) is even much older
