I've heard about this TV series but I haven't watched it. Still, interesting tutorial, specially the crack in the wall via Layer Styles... how crafty of you! By the way, when you said that you're planning on recreating more movies/tv shows posters, you reminded me of Corey Barker, who often makes projects based on things he saw in movies/tv (like movie posters). I'm pretty sure he invites you to his birthday parties, anyway - in fact, he was probably introduced to you by Scott Kelby while you were chatting with Martin Evening about your common friend Katrin Eisman or something like that xD Last but not least, I was scrolling through the comments and I was amused by the time some people put in the discussion about what to select first in order to save one split millisecond (ok, maybe it was worth 2 full milliseconds). Maybe Einstein was thinking about youtube comments vs. Photoshop tutorials when he said time is relative, lol.
LOL. Corey is a friend. I'll see him in three weeks at Adobe MAX in Las Vegas. and Glyn introduced me to Scott! facebook.com/glyndewis/photos/a.359774728335.191034.269746323335/10153604725008336/ I don't yet have the please of meeting Katrin or Martin. LOL Yup. He was. Time is relative...
That was neat, thank you! I especially liked the crack in the wall -technique. I would've turned down the opacity for the sandstone texture, I think it's a bit too much. But as you said, it's in the artists vision. :D
Photoshop Training Channel yeah, in this case totally. It's just a good habit to me to select first the less complex background/foreground in more complex pictures and then invert the selection :)
Photoshop Training Channel You're right. My approach is always to ask what's the easiest and quickest way to get the result that I want. I've often made the experience that doing the opposite in PS gets me going easier. Besides: excellent video!
Romulus MAP Exactly my approach. Also, teaching people that the complicated and hard way isn't always necessary to get the result. In fact, I dont't like the quick selection tool, I almost everytime use the pen tool or this reverse selection.
Another great lesson thanx! But i'm not a big fan regarding the use of the texture filter... On the final image it looks obvious that its a photoshop filter... Would you have a trick to make that kind of effect more realistic?
Another great tutorial. I especially like the background with the crack.
Thank you, Ken Hurst-Earl!
trust me man this is my fav channel, lots of love man
Thank you! 🙏
Cool Tutorial. Really enjoyed the technique where you isolated the crack using the channels!
Thank you, Jonathan Bisher!
So valuable 👌

I like Thank U
You're welcome!
i like that ways...!!
Thank you!
Wouldn't it be easier in this case to select the background and then reversing the selection in order to select the guy?
Yeah, my thoughts exactly :)
Maybe. But it only took like two seconds to select. Maybe adding the extra second to inverse makes it the same in terms of complexity. lol

It would be best to use a photo of a real wall and overlay that on top of the image.

You can get the same font they use for the show from dafont
Yeah, but I wanted to use a font that people could download and use legally on commercial projects if they wanted.
Why when i use the quick selection toll the process to select is very slow. Please is there any settings which i am not doing.
Mario, the only thing I can think of is that you're using a large image and your computer might need a little more power.

Hello friend
Hello, friend? That's lame. Maybe I should give you a name. But that's a slippery slope. You're only in my head. We have to remember that.
