It's not arrogance - it's honesty. He's never cared what anyone thought and he speaks his mind. He's got a depth about him that is rare and he's a great actor. I'm glad he's back! He's a survivor!
I love Mickey Rourke, honest, loyal, brilliant actor, really special person. My favorite actor. All the best to him, I really love him and admire him. Like Eric Roberts said " I love Mickey Rourke for everything what he is.".
Mickey Rourke is truely a great actor! Angel Heart, Barfly, Bodyheat, Rumble Fish, 91/2 Weeks, Sin City, Once Upon A Time In Mexico, The Pledge, Animal Factory, Spun, The Wrestler, Bullet, Man On Fire etc. Oh, so many great performances! Welcome back, brother!
I throughly enjoyed this interview. I thought it was the best most candid interview I've seen him do. He really opened up and touched on a lot of topics with a wide range of answers to sometimes difficult questions. But ,I must say Mickey Rourke never stopped working even during the 90s . I liked Harley Davidson and the Marlborough Man.
Mickey's redemption and revival are unique in Hollywood. The best thing is that he looks at ease with himself and his past and is willing to leave it all behind. Good for him.
"It´s good to be back", we´re all glad you´re back Mickey...It´s like what that man says in 9:16, he might be strange looking, but he´s a phenomenal actor and he always was. An Oscar for him!!
appreciate Mickey;s honesty..touche' Mr Rourke and welcome back with the Wrestler, Sin City 1 & 2 =)) condolences on the loss of your dear brother too...xo xo
this has been the most inspiring interview i've ever watched. mickey rourke proves if you live your dreams for better or worse that you can turn your life around and find success eventually.
that's the best line i ever heard I played music in L.A and it is built on envy for sure the whole thing is about who can u screw and climb on to get ahead music or movies same thing not that big of a diffrance
Piers Morgan has zero empathy. Rourke just finishes telling him all the damage to his face and two concussions (brain injuries) and says You’re face is such a train wreck. What a creep.
Very interesting. As I started to grow into my 20's I lost track of him Now I know why. I completed my studies and did my thing. Academically I believed that I was quite superior to my past and the more education I received the smarted I thought I was. Well there were many actors and musicians that helped me to learn how to create characters in my own acting. I realize today how much he is still a part of me. Cool.
Very honest and touching interview. Wish the best for him and pray all of his demons will leave him at peace and let him live the rest of his life whole and happy. Evil child abusers is why God made hell.
He's just a great actor! went back to boxing to deal with his pain of Hollywood big wigs calling the shots brilliant way to get out of the "tinsel town" funk.
he is a very cool dude but he DID have lousy plastic surgery done, reconstructive work for his boxing injuries or not. i still love this guy but he is crazy. crazy awesome too. it's good to see him work again, he was always one of my favorites.
What I think May 2015 with hindsight over this great actors career is this for what it's worth. I think the film industry is unique in contrast to people who have regular jobs. Who have employment rights , anti bullying in the work place , tribunals etc etc. the film industry doesn't and a person, an actor is very much on their own. Sink or swim, who are at the grace of other people who are more powerful than them. Hence the evolvement of the " casting couch" particularly for women and maybe for some men Many of whom had to sleep their way to the top. Micky Rourke refused to compromise with this level of authority . Why would he given his childhood experience ? Had he been in the ordinary work place he would have been afforded more protection ? Not achieved so much ? Definitely, but he is a risk taker and takes responsibility for his shit swimming in a cesspool of people full of their own shit!
I've always had the feeling that he was "put upon" ...or attempts were made to "put upon him" in Hollywood, when he was young and handsome, and it turned him off !
Great guy he should now that he's 'on top' again get his features fixed by the right people. He reporetedly chose the wrong guys to fix his face after he had it messed up during his boxing period !
I was going to say the same thing. If you look at his face when he was younger, his chin and jaw is shaped in a way that makes his chin more prominent. But, with a bad facelift, it makes his face look out of wack along with some other horrible surgeries. I think he looks better than he did a few years ago though. Definitely not his younger days (who does), but better. I think he would look even better with a cleaned up look, but hey he's just being him, so I say do you! lol
I can't wait to see the wrestler. I always dug Mickey Rourke. I have no interest in happy cheerful actors like Will Smith or Brad Pitt. Nothing to see there.
@bigbendewolfe: Maybe the lower lip could have some work, it looks unnatural, like if it had too much botox or a ugly implant, but otherwise i'd avoid other surgeries, they could turn out bad.
He didn't do anything with his chin. You know he had a facelift for sure, he can't grow sideburns anymore, he lost his adorable puppy dog eyes with an eyelift and his smile looks a bit different because the space between his nose and upper lip is larger because of the nose job he had to get to fix all of his broken noses. But you know, I'm a huge fan, and I think he's looking pretty good nowadays.I don't want to sound mean because that's not what I intended, but you came across as very rude =(
It's not arrogance - it's honesty. He's never cared what anyone thought and he speaks his mind. He's got a depth about him that is rare and he's a great actor. I'm glad he's back! He's a survivor!

and through all that he was going through, he never at one time blamed anybody else, easily one of the most humble and honest celebs around
Welcome back, brother!
i love mickey rourke........he's the real deal. i respect him and admire hime very much.xox

Good for him.
I hope he makes a great come back as he really is a good actor.

He seems like a nice man. Good luck to him...oh and Mickey Rourke too.
There's still something so damn sexy about him
Yes....the sexy goes beyond actual looks..................it's his persona.
Mickey take care brother, greeting from Poland

Mickey is real....respect bro
How refreshing, The truth for once! I wish the rest of Hollywood would come clean.
Very honest and touching interview. Wish the best for him and pray all of his demons will leave him at peace and let him live the rest of his life whole and happy. Evil child abusers is why God made hell.
Bar Fly was a really good movie too.
What a dude !
This was good
He's just a great actor! went back to boxing to deal with his pain of Hollywood big wigs calling the shots brilliant way to get out of the "tinsel town" funk.
Cool dude .. Glad he's back ..
plastic surgery or not, i love him the way he is
he's a good, sweet and sexy man
i'm glad he has a girlfriend and lovely dogs
i wish him all the best!
he is a very cool dude but he DID have lousy plastic surgery done, reconstructive work for his boxing injuries or not. i still love this guy but he is crazy. crazy awesome too. it's good to see him work again, he was always one of my favorites.
Alan Parker needs to make more AP movies!
If I could go back in time, I would steal Mickey Rourke as a child and save him from his parents.
arrogant ? you've got to be kidding me ??? I thought he was brutally honest about his past and owning his own !
I find him more attractive now, especially when compared to the overload of pretty boys in Hollywood
Обожаю,за необычность и редкость,как необработанный алмаз, что то в нём есть и никто не может понять.... ❤️

Ah, poor baby.
4:51 - 5:44 damn ...
What's the name of the song in the end of this part? Round 10:15?
Brad Pitt was very real and gritty in Fight Klub.
Great guy
he should now that he's 'on top' again
get his features fixed by the right people.
He reporetedly chose the wrong guys to fix his face
after he had it messed up during his boxing period !
Me too

Mickey is under rated, Piers over rated.
His face went from spectacular to spooktacular.
His plan was to become Dickey York and show up in Hollywood with a new chance.
I can't wait to see the wrestler. I always dug Mickey Rourke. I have no interest in happy cheerful actors like Will Smith or Brad Pitt. Nothing to see there.

a man has to go through a lot in life before he is given the Privileg of lying still in the coffin
@tamerswan: You obviosly don't remember him as a youngster. He looked completely different.
He's laughing all the way to the bank now.
He didn't do anything with his chin. I love Mickey but those finger nails.. WTF man
Uprated.
blah blah blah
