    Thank you for your video. I just got this Hyper tough weed eater at Walmart 69.00 Today. Waiting for the first charge of the battery. I have a gas weed eater about 1 year old and it is having problems starting. I was so tired of waiting for my husband to fix it. I am the one that mows the Yard. I have a small yard and I am happy I got the battery weed eater. No gas No 2 stroke oil No carburetor problems like my old gas weed eaters all used to get every now and then. I was just tired of it. This Video makes me happy knowing I made the right choice. Happy Father's Day.

      Very well said. The battery-powered weedeaters eliminate all of the hassles and frustration of gas-powered as long as you don't need the for hours at a time. And thank you for the Father's Day wishes!

    Thank you for the great, honest review of this budget trimmer. I've been looking at it and will probably pick one up payday. It's refreshing to see a review that doesn't bash a product just because it is fairly inexpensive.

      @patrickbledsoe2176 I did get the hypertough 20v trimmer the day after posting my comment. It lasts me about an hour of steady, intermittent use. My yard Nas a little bind weed & Buffalo grass, with the occasional elm tree sprout. The HT cuts it all with no problems. The con I have is the string works best with the higher grade string. Oh. IDK just how long it takes to charge battery cause I plug it in after use and let it go all evening... usually 3-4 hours.

    Good review! I've had one of these for several years and my teenage stepson beat the snot out of it, so it's time to get a replacement. The grass guard is gone and the line feed doesn't work, but it still cuts the weeds! I paid $100 when I got it, but they're down to just $40 now. Might have to buy two! One thing about these Hyper Tough batteries is that the service life is awesome! I have a chainsaw, pole saw, leaf blower and the trimmer and interchange the batteries. The original batteries are over 5 years old and still charge normally and hold charge for a long time.

      @@FixEverythingYourself I'd completely forgotten, but I also have a Hyper Tough 20v circular saw. It works pretty well as long as I don't force it and just go slowly. I've used it on 3/4" plywood doing boat stuff.

    61 bucks today. Just bought a second one so my wife and i can both do the church weeds. Weve had the first one 3 years of pretty heavy use around our 2 acres....well, around the house on our two acres. Very handy. Recommend a second battery and the better charger. This is kindof a sleeper item for a typical homeowner....plenty good.

      @FixEverythingYourself  Год назад

      Not sure what you mean. Are you talking about a different head with plastic blades that can be used for heavier brush? If so, I'm pretty sure it won't work, and this weedeater isn't powerful enough to work for that.

    I have the kobalt 24v and have two batteries for it and am able to Trim a lot of stuff with it. It handles tall weeds well. Best trimmer I ever used

    • @jeffmurnahan
      @jeffmurnahan 2 года назад

      Besides a stihl trimmer I’ve used. I bet you could mod that hypertough with an ugly head timmer head for more strings with easy feed and a strap or extension bar to make it easier on your back and then it would be a good trimmer, plus get multiple batteries

    • @FixEverythingYourself
      @FixEverythingYourself  2 года назад

      The Kobalt is definitely better than this Walmart one. I think the EGO is better (more power) than even the Kobalt. Both are solid.

    I'm having issues with mine going thru an entire spool of line every time I use it in our small yard. I do tend to start and stop it a lot and heard that this one self feeds a little line every time you do that... Don't know why the first spool lasted so long tho. Other than that, this thing is great for home use, church, small jobs.

    • @FixEverythingYourself

      You need to attach a charged battery. Then, you pull the trigger (it's red, under the handle) while simultaneously pressing the red button that protrudes from the side of the handle. That will make it work.

    I need to remove the receptacle on my 20 volt hyper tough cordless trimmer because it seems some Old line has got caught up in it, behind the receptacle ,which holds the Line spool. And because of this it won't allow the trimmer to run. Of course this isn't in the owner's manual. Can somebody tell me where I might find some written or illustration on this removing of the receptacle ?

    i just purchased this 20v hyper tough weed eater recently and wasn't sure what to expect but it works okay for the small area i picked it up for. do you have any suggestions on how to attach different heads/blades? it appears to have a proprietary head installed on it. i have a few small areas where i could certainly use more cutting power for thicker stems. of course the ideal solution would be to get a more powerful product but was curious if i can make it work with what i have. thanks!

    • @FixEverythingYourself
      @FixEverythingYourself  2 года назад

      Sorry, I don't use mine a ton because of how basic it is so I haven't done any looking into what other heads may be available. My guess is that there aren't other options but you could check Amazon or Walmart.
      I think this weedeater is good for very small yards or as an edger. However, there are many better ones out there that, of course, are more expensive. Sorry I'm not much help here.

      It could be that you wound the string the wrong way (clockwise vs. counterclockwise). Try re-winding the string in the opposite direction of how you have it currently.

  • @maxhubrich1000
    @maxhubrich1000 2 года назад

    Hey- This works well when it has string available---
    I have to carry a small screwdriver, and a pair of cut off pliers to make this unit function properly --- it has no "bump and go" string extender feature---
    it's probably good for very light jobs------ I have to use the small screwdriver to help pry the string cover off---

      @@FixEverythingYourself Do you know the number in units of Watts?

    • @FixEverythingYourself
      @FixEverythingYourself  5 месяцев назад

      It's a 20V battery so 20V x 4A-hr = 80 watt-hours. If I'm correct in my recollection that the battery lasts 30-45 minutes, that would equate to 110-160 watts.

    • @FixEverythingYourself
      @FixEverythingYourself  7 месяцев назад

      If you tried to charge it right after using it, the blinking light could mean it's too hot to charge. Let it cool down a bit, then try it. It could also indicate a battery that's out of life but try the first step (cool down) first.
