I've binged it. They focussed more on fewer teams, which does help the story-telling but at the cost of air time for at least 3 teams, who didn't play a role this season. Overall it was more authentic except for some fakery here and there, especially the Checo episode (he got his contract extension already at Baku and there was a real fall-out with Max of course that was only hinted at). For casuals (the target audience) it was nice. For hardcore fans, it was better than in previous years.
So as a long-time fan Lucy, what do you think of Formula 1 since Abu Dhabi 2021, the cost cap breach from Red Bull as well? Is the sport ruined? Can the FIA be trusted? And Liberty Media who owns the sport. Should they be handling things differently?
As a huge F1 fan DTS is turning into a collection of Groundhog Day episodes . You can tell where commentators have recorded extra lines to feed narratives and ultimately knowing what we know about how they are willing to use radio lines from other races and apply them to a viscous team mate rivalry narrative just does so much damage to the drivers image . There’s just not enough reality to the show and it’s a shame because i too remember being unaware of all this and being vigorously excited for upcoming seasons of the show . I understand that ultimately it’s the narrative that entertains but when your into the sport and feel like you’re being led on a bit it leads to me watching the show with a pinch of salt attitude. I just hope they can make a few changes should a new season be made because it’s just become an overly dramatised collection of partly false narratives . F1 is exciting enough without all that
This was well done Lucy!
I truly enjoyed it. Keep it up!
I really like this style of video, Lucy! Great work!
