I have to be honest.. this guy is my favorite so far!!! So honest, so passionate but most of all, the fact that his family is debt free and he uses his collectibles to handle items and not go into hock tells me his kids are going to be great people as well since they have great parents to learn from! From the bottom of my tiny heart, thank you for this one!

@@ConcatenateYea he could of held out and showed a few people and sold to the highest offers, no doubt in my mind he could have got $50k-$60k even in todays market, he had a LOT of stuff, I know those president autos 1 of them goes for $800 that's a case hit in that stuff and its like $849 for a box its super high end stuff they only sell so many in a run, he had a 86-87 Fleer Jordan RC and a bunch of other RC....ebay for a few players are still getting damn good money, especially Shaedon Sharp go try and buy a Gold or low numbered Sharpe card you're going to be spending a LOT to get a nice Shaedon Sharpe RC but I think this kid is going to be special, he has made many of comments how he's only got one chance at greatness and he's going to do it, and from what I've seen him do in practice and in the games is just super human!!! Even the wat he hangs off the rim & twistshis body and lands so smoothly. Shaedon Sharpe finally beat the NBA's standing Verticle record by almost 2 inches! Michael Jordan held the standing Vertical record for 33 years at 48 inches!!!

Not because you thought it was fair and you did him a solid. How do you think you did him a solid when all is said and done you stand to make at least twice as much as him off his own collection. You are very well aware that the actual numbers and the ones you were expecting to hear were well above the generous ones he sent your way. I'm surprised you didn't trip over your arm while reaching to shake his hand. Imo if you had done him a solid you would have said no I can't do $30000 I would feel like I'm stealing them from you they are worth so much more. How does $40000 sound. Holy shit, the production value on this is truly off the charts. I felt like I was watching an NBC special on card collecting. This was really a joy to watch, and RUclips PLAYED IT AUTOMATICALLY!
I’m in awe of what he had, but more so I’m in awe of what you were able to get! I am so jealous, and you are so lucky to get it.
I know they call it work to go through it all, to sort and to organize it, to grade it, post it all, sell it, etc… but so much of that is SO FUN ALSO. It’s literally like playing.
Getting this collection gave you the thrill of the chase, and the thrill of the acquisition. Now comes the thrill of finding the TRUE gems of the collection, and the thrill of the sale of those gems. Some will come immediately, and some will happen years from now because you decided to sit on some pieces, but as a real collector (which you are), this will provide joy, fun, stress, adrenaline, happiness, frustration, excitement, disappointment, satisfaction, and on and on and on.
The guy as well as the collection you purchased is the real one of one, and you were lucky enough to get that pull, so truly… congratulations!
My one bit of sadness is that I can’t share in that joy you’ve earned, but you deserve it, and thank you for the opportunity to see it and for making this video to share that story!

Rick seemed like a great guy to just hang with and talk cards and the Clemente & Robinson both looked gorgeous. This was another great show.
I think Ty needs set up a behind the scenes video where we get to see everything in some of these large collections that he buys. We usually get a quick look as they get shuffled through during the show but maybe layout 40-50 of the best stuff on a table and record quick clip scrolling over them we be great.

The seller low balled himself. Would have been better off having DCSPORTS87 listing all of the inserts and modern and Greg Morris cards for the Vintage. Would have been made whole in 30 days. But great deal for the buyers. I would have bought that in a heart beat.

Think so?! That’s kinda a high number. Thus far, these cards are sitting in our store. Not moving… and some selling way under comps. When purchasing collections this large, you have to factor in the time to organize, list, grade. It takes a ton of time. Don’t work for free. Budget that in your offer.
