Just bought a 580 Amarok after owning a remapped 4 banger for 8 years (which I love)....wow ! ....it is insanely powerful ! No remap yet ...scary to think what it will do after one .

Your extra threaded holes before and after the dpf will be Nox sensors. Usually come with little control units attached hidden under plastic undertrays. Not sure on vag stuf but very common on Merc. 300+ quid each aswell
damn it takes off like drag racer and rolls so little coal Impressive! I recon it wouldn't blow any smoke at all with a stock tune which implies a very long lifetime of the numerous CATs and DPFs since they wont become all plugged up by a clean burning diesel.
Looking to the future, would the be a market for ev tuning, feel like the motor in something like a Zoe has a lot more to give then it does stock, I've only really seen tuning done with the Chevy volt (Vauxhall/Opel ampera)
U maintained the spare, which is awesome The combo of full delete + custom silencer is amazing, sounds very good! Maybe, maintaining the first or secondary cat would avoid some of the bad diesel smell, while keeping almost the same performance. (Just an idea)
My Amarok v6 has full 3" from first cat back. Sounds good but wish it was catless... This has a great tone. Now if only I can gut or find a way to delete that first cat.. 😅
Hmm does sound good. What $ for sending to NZ? And is ridding the 1st cat of its precious metals known to throw a code on these, if all sensors etc are replaced as per normal. Cheers

I get significantly better fuel economy with a clear dpf. I average 7.8l per 100 when it's just regened, to 9.5 when it's full in my 2018 Amarok V6. Never notice any difference in power, which is pretty much what your dyno says too. I can imagine a delete improving economy even further.
The very last boss on the DPF which is a larger thread (24mm usually) is the Post DPF Particulate Matter sensor? Which in simple terms measures the soot content to evaluate the DPF filter functionality. Something we’ve been using on our vehicles the past year or two so Hope this helps 🤞🏼 Love the work guys. auto2016.bosch.com.cn/ebrochures2016/energizing_powertrain/ds/sensors/ds_productdatasheet_particulatemattersensor_egs_pm_en_lowres_151026.pdf
Nope it's an NOx sensor, they use 2 pressure tubes on the dpf to measure how much resistance the filter element has and thus calculate an amount of blokkage. One is in front of the filter element and one is directly behind it
Darkside Developments Sorry for the delay - notifications were off So I work for Jaguar Land Rover and pretty much all the electronics incl fuel, emissions and SCR etc are controlled by Bosch. If I remember correctly they developed the PM sensor back in 2016 but we’ve been seeing them since around 2018/19. Fairly straight forward as far as it’s operation but incredibly effective! Glad to be of some help
@@hunter9521 something else to make those JLR more reliable eh? Haha. If you know anyone in the calibration dept who fancies working here at DS let us know, we have a opening in the Dyno.
@@DarksideDevelopments "normal" driving its quiet but if you put your foot down... oh it makes noise! And a clean look leaves other drivers around their heads xD
Leaving *Secondary CAT and removing all 10 sensors with all the upgrades already on the Amarok should be something nice to drive, even for a pick up truck...
Have you guys done comparisons on EGR vs no EGR, straight pipe vs muffler & cat vs just cat, etc? Really love seeing these comparisons as not many of them are out there.
@@DarksideDevelopments interesting take on the topic. It's just that in some places I've heard claims of up to 5% increase in power for straight piping (I think) and up to 10% for EGR blockage (I think. I could have mixed these up, but one of these was claimed as 10%). Video with proof would settle the debate.
@@ryanp6138 I do certainly believe that straight piping and EGR blockage can improve performance. Straight piping is basically removing any restriction (I can tell you from experience, my car pulls better and response is a tiny bit better) so obviously there is some gain there. As for EGR, you're replacing all the exhaust gases with fresh air, so allowing more fuel to be burned. But as for how much of an increase, that part I'm unsure of.
Maybe the reason it didn't make so much up top is because the turbo itself is a huge restriction. Have you got an exhaust manifold pressure sensor? I'd bet a bigger turbo will allow you to extract some real power. Good stuff guys
