- Today I make a sliding, folding, transforming bed for the van. I'm particularly proud of this because it's something that I designed and built from scratch! Every part of it is original and for it to come out so well is so gratifying. I had to learn #welding for this project which was fun!

I'm Matt and this is my channel - The Atypical Workshop. I was diagnosed with Autism in early 2020 and after initially struggling to come to terms with my #neurodiversity, I've since learned to embrace it. During lockdown, while teaching myself carpentry, I also began watching Atypical (Netflix). The show both helped me to understand what I was going through, and reminded me of how capable I am. On 'The Atypical Workshop' I aim to use my unique skill set to both overcome the challenges I face and provide entertaining and informative content.

Badass!! I like this creative approach to the bed to free up the space in transit mode.
🙌🙌 at some point I’d like to make a tool storage unit that slots in to the frame in place of the bed, for even more flexibility!

This is awesome. I might go with aluminum/rivets to keep down weight, and make it modular(maybe on T-tracks), so it can easily be removed for use as a cargo van when needed.
Have a look at aluminium extrusion as an option too!
