I totally understand why people feel Firefly is overhyped + her fans have been pretty loud since Boothills announcement. I’m pulling her for her story and the fact that I’m so intrigued with the Stellaron Hunters in general, learning about the script and defeating Aneons is the main reason I continue to play. After Firefly I’ll be waiting for Ellio’s release to complete the gang
Jade is pretty but I haven't liked any of the IRS characters so far and Firefly is so cool, I think stellaron hunters are the most interesting group and the fact that we've been told this entire time that Sam is some sort of hulking death machine only to find out she's a small fairy girl is so good imo, like Kafka, Blade, and Silver Wolf all look like they belong to the same anti-hero team and then there's firefly and the cat 😆 I also love that this means there are more girls than guys in the stellaron hunters, it makes it more of a fun dynamic. Idk, like I think a lot of people like Firefly because you spend a lot of 1 on 1 time with her and that was cute and all, but I probably wouldn't pull for her if she wasn't Sam

From what I understand, Jade will replace Ratio. So she will be a must pull for people who are rocking an E0S0 Ratio with a Topaz, Adventurine, and Ruan Mei/Robin on one of their teams. If she can be a big upgrade from Ratio and enable Topaz, that's a huge win and very worth in my eyes if you've already built a follow-up team. Firefly is more universal though. AoE break unit, seems like an across the board upgrade from Himeko, can dominate MoC and PF most likely, worth investing vertically in for fire weakness implant (E1 via leaks). Tough choice. I think Firefly would be better for newer players who aren't wanting to invest heavily in FUA. She's also super f2p friendly outside of wanting Ruan Mei, you could just run Harmony TB and Gallagher, and that's a dream break squad.

Gotta respect not pulling for meta units all the time. I honestly think investing too much into your main dps will hurt your team variety. Though as a new player, my e0s1 Acheron has allowed me to catch up to a great extent, mostly due to exp farming. In terms of powercreep I think the biggest culprit is Lightcones and Eidelons of newer units are way stronger nowadays ( e6 YY 35% dmg vs. 200% dmg e6 Acheron boost on single target) Honestly, they should let people be able to toggle off Eidelons. I wish they would make it worthwhile to pull for older units, not that they're bad, but we get so few stellar jades it feels impossible to justify pulling an A-tier unit if you have to save for 1-2 months.
That's a great idea...if they would reduce the cost of re-run banners from guaranteed 90 pulls to something like 75 it would be more worthwhile due to the powercreep.
Bro, I am almost 15 years older than you and I like Firefly/Sam without being a perv. I hate all this waifu babble and focus on power & designs/charakters I like and I am a dad. Firefly looks like a Fire Jingliu and that is perfect for me. Maybe one reason is that I like Metroid/Samus since I was a kid. IPC-FUA is really too expensive for me because I would need Topaz and Robin. (I am not F2P but far away from a whale too...) So I will skip FUA (Topaz, Robin, Jade) although I like Topaz/Numbys design/charakter. I have a DoT Team, Acheron Team and Jingliu as Hypercarry. That should work.
But the 4 starquantum euridition Qingque also has a follow up attack on her, It's not as frequent as the other units but she does trigger follow ups as well.
having follow up and being follow up unit is different things. Kafka and yanqing also have follow ups but it's not their primary damage, neither it is for qingque
There's still the issue of where you would even put Jade into mono quantum. Mono quantum doesn't really exist without silverwolf, and the qingque really wants sparkle.

Since she wants to buff erudition units anyway and adds extra damage onto the field jade + qq might be an okay combo in pure fiction. But that's just a guess. She feels more niche for FUA teams specific over quantum.
honestly we should just wait and see when these two characters to come out to see and maybe see what leaks have to say but nonetheless excited for both characters. I don't think we should have the mentality to judge these characters they literally just revealed them without knowing what they do.
If you check leaks you can kinda see already, agree that for popularity and being fire destruction firefly is going to be more op overall, and probably really good animations
Jade is busted for FUA teams. I would argue way better than herta. She gives herself a CRT DMG bonus up to 120%. She gains 3% per stack per FUA. Every FUA jade does gives her 5 stacks up to 50 stacks. She buffs allies as well which helps her gain charges for her FUA. She has a blast basic attack which is one of her main sources of damage. Jade looks extremely fun. Also quick tidbit, physical is the rarest weakness. While quantum is tied for 3rd most common weakness. Now that graph hasn't been updated in a few weeks so the weaknesses could be wrong.
4:19 o still find it a bit funny that people past their thirties can look back other lives and think they can say they where significantly more mature in college then they where by the end of Highschool… you where not. 18-25 is all the same trash for 90% of people if you went to college instead of getting married and starting work at 18

Before this video i was to pull for Jade with whatever funds i have left after E6S5 Firefly and will only skip Jade if Ruan Mei's rerun is on same patch (my Ruan Mei is E4 and I plan to E6 her asap) After this video: I definitely decided that Jade is a hard skip. Coz u made a great point, IPC = Follow Up attacks. That is a playstyle I hate (outside of herta coz kurukuru is just adorable and Clara coz Svarog sfx is just so satisfying). There is a reason why I skipped topaz and didnt go for aventurine (tbh, if ratio isnt free then I wouldnt have him as well on my account). And the only reason I have Jing Yuan is coz he is part of the Quintet (coz i really love Jingliu). IPC? I dont like anyone from there. Thats 1. 2, follow up attackers? Thats 2. Erudition?! Thats 3 and shes out.

Yes the team is expensive, because you are going to get robin too soon that is probably for that team, so if you want the dream team of topaz aventurine robin jade/ratio got to pull a lot in a short time lol unless reruns

I'm also a newish player and one of the main things I'm worried about is who is going to be getting reruns. I want to stay a light spender and still needing dps, supports, and potentially another sustain if Gallagher doesn't cut it past level 7 of MOC. I'm lucky to have started around Acheron's banner so all the jades they throw at you for story content got me enough to get her. But a major mistake, in my opinion, was getting her to E2S1 cause now I'm broke and can't expand my teams. Not that I have the time/stamina to farm for new characters anyways...
yeah getting e2s1 acheron means you have one op team, but end game requires 2 full teams. at least ratio can be the main dps of your other side. what 2nd team can you put together currently? i started same as you myself, but lost the pity 3 times in a row when going for e0s1 acheron, as well as adventurine. so feeling pretty broke too though can make 2 teams to try to push MOC/PF after i hit TB 60
@@lenwok3222 I have Dr. Ratio, Hanya, Tingyun, and Adventurine. They do ok, but still need a ton of work. Traces are only at 7, 7, 7, missing two major traces for both Hanya and Tingyun. Only Acheron, Adventurine, and Ratio are level 80, and only their 3 light cones are level 80. My most built is Acheron who's still only at 3700 attack and 39/117 crit. Though I run her with Yukong, so there's a free 25/55 crit. I really think using stamina much sooner to start farming would have been very beneficial. Nothing crazy, but just used all my stamina once a day, it's very easy to do so. But I just mainlined the quests unless I need mats to level up some.
I find Jade more compelling as a character, and I like her design. However, I haven't really heard anything that exciting about her kit. So I'm a bit conflicted, because Firefly is probably more powerful, but less interesting to me. Hopefully Ruan Mei reruns and solves all my decision making issues.
Ruan mei rerun should buff firefly even more, but yes feel like we are missing details from jade of how good she could really be vs other eruditions, quantum and follow up units, because firefly hasn't any competition in fire, and if its break dps wouldn't compete with boothill because he is single target

I'm kinda same on Sam, before we 100% knew that Sam = firefly, I was hyped for him, badass mecha edgelord. Now it's a waifu uwu girl, yeah she is cute and all, but I like more badass characters. Looking for gameplay first, before deciding in the end
that's interesting I'm kinda the opposite way, I probably wouldn't have wanted to pull for either of them if they were separate characters because I don't like playing as guy characters much but I really like the stellaron hunters as a group and was hyped for Sam's introduction into the story, and I wasn't too interested in Firefly as a character but I think her design is very cute, so combined I get to play as a cool stellaron hunter mech and also a cute anime girl so this is the best of both worlds imo
It's weird putting Erudition as a con, when every single Erudition trivializes Pure Fiction when on element. It is not a coincidence they made PF mostly Ice, Fire, Lightning and Physical weak. Jade will most likely be attacking at a higher frequency, something QQ can't do to clear waves of mobs.
Yes? thats a pro he said, what he meant is that being erudition is normally a disadvantage in moc and simulated universe, unless they make it like archeron that is just stupidly broken, thats why people say destruction its the best path of the game, at least for dps because harmony keeps breaking the meta
@@asoretOf course it's weird. Because he's not listing Destruction's comparatively lower performance on PF, but he did for Erudition on MoC. We've seen posts of people struggling on PF with Jing Liu and DHIL. We've also seen Erudition clearing MoC 12 plenty of times before, even if it can be slower comparatively. They give the same amount of jades and literally alternate on updates.
Firefly waifu? Jade mommy? Nah I’ll pull for Kamen Rider SAM the animations in the boss fight looked amazing, now being the one using that? Just like Archeron I expect some incredible animations, that is why I went for blade even tho he’s not particularly strong compared to the current best dps he was just too cool not to pull Firefly/SAM I expect similar badass animations in battle
Considering her original leaked kit. (Which could change in beta.) She doesn't seem too great in mono quantum, which makes it difficult to consider it a pro for her. I dont even know who you'd remove for her. Silverwolf? But then it's not even mono quantum outside of juat enemies, already having quantum weakness
as a 20 year old man, i'm uncomfortable with overwhelming sexualisation of every single character by community, so i personally don't really engage with it, i just don't think it's funny that so many creators make a joke of them zooming on thighs and chests of characters, licking their lips and going "oohh boy hehehe" 12 times per every single video it seems like
If it makes you uncomfortable, call them out on it and then give them a dislike and remove your sub. I do the same when I hear content creators using slurs. If they think it's cool to act edgy despite being 20+, the joke's on them as you'll move on and have a successful life while they'll slowly socially rot away but not even understand why.
Firefly has pull value being a Limited 5* destruction and will likely be OP. However the story didn't sell me on her. Effectively to me some girl I met bought me lunch, showed me around, and then proceeded to trauma dump on me within 1-2 hours of meeting her. And my reaction the whole was: 😐. They did so much better with Aventurine regarding that aspect. Jade I'm 50/50 on. I gotta see how her kit works. Erudition characters can ST so I'm not that concerned about it, but it's true their multipliers tend to be on the lower side, so lower damage. But if you can get all the rewards with them, who cares 🤷. Although her value to me is lower since I have two built 4 star Quantum Dps units.
Pretty sure firefly story is far from over in penacony, not to mention she's a stelleron hunter so her relevance to the overall story is gonna be quite high. We might get alot of her along with sunday and robin in 2.2, so i guess we will see how it goes✌️.
HuoHuo gaps Luocha hard in regards to Firefly teams. Heals, extra cleanse on top of Firefly’s self cleanse and provides Atk and Energy to an Ult focused DPS.
lol this whole thing about "who is hotter" or "waifu/husbando" nonsense is not only cringe when it comes to firefly and her perceived age but in general. i stopped being into animated chars when i was 10 and nowadays we have people in their mid-twenties and much older who act like 8 year olds and crush on "cartoon" characters. it's more than weird to me
I don’t play the game for that… but it doesn’t matter… people experience things differently, that’s it… so caring is seen as weird in my case and letting that get in the way of how you perceive people is weird in my eyes because it doesn’t matter.

Firefly is so uninteresting to me as well. I liked the idea of SAM as a mecha and the boss fight was really cool but everything else is so uninteresting. I hate how they tried to push the player into liking Firefly despite being a glorified NPC guide to pad out the patch length. There just wasn't enough time to let the player feel attached to her. I feel the same thing about Robin honestly. I'm not sure why people like her either but maybe we'll see more of her during 2.2. I already have Blade and Daniel for destruction so I also don't need Firefly for that reason. I'm getting Jade because I liked her in the story and she just seems way cooler. I hate that they had to merge Firefly and SAM. I think it took away so much value from SAM.
To each their own i guess. I was sleeping on both firefly and sam individually until i found out that they are the same. Something about a character you thought you knew ended up having a completely different side is just a very interesting concept to me.

The fact that she was a girl that probably looked like Firefly does in the dreamscape before she lost touch with her organic self and SAM is how she manifests now in the physical world but CAN project the Firefly image as well. Imagine being a person like that who before you could grow old even your rare illness ripped your life away? What would YOU do? I think it's cool that she decided to or was recruited to the Stellaron Hunters. Firefly is incredibly interesting. To me anyway. Sure some think she was soppy in the dreamworld etc. But why wouldn't someone that went through that romanticize experiencing dreamscapes like that? Makes sense.

They were also alluding to her having this incredibly tragic backstory but then they didn't even hint at what it could be about, so there was no incentive to even feel sorry for her for that reason. And with 2.1, we can see how powerful a good backstory can really be for a character, since Aventurine was despised by a large portion of the community until 2.1 came around and he was revealed to have this tragic backstory which helps the player to sympathize with him more, and I feel that's exactly what 2.0 lacked. There were no emotional stakes involved, so while it was shocking because it came out of nowhere, I also didn't care when it was over. Even Tingyun's death bothered me more, especially since if you got her you could also get attached to her via her gameplay. I also think that Firefly's death really took away the mystery surrounding Robin's death. Overall, I just think 2.0 was really poorly paced.
I mean, to be fair if Jade's final kit is the same or very similar to the leaked kit, then she would be a great match-up with Jing Yuan which you have! I'd say that it also depends on whether or not you already have a Fire and/or Quantum DPS, which would mostly determine who you'd get, but I say go for who you really want and like in terms of design (and gameplay later on). I love your hairbun by the way ❤
I mean fire kinda doesn't exist yet as a main dps, so firefly has all the main spot, and if the rumors of she implating fire are right then gallagher receives a huge boost going with her

Yup I checked Jade's full kit and for now, she appears to synergize so well with others Erudition Follow Up aka Herta, Jing Yuan and Himeko. Basically she acts like a dps / support and seem to be way better in a duo dps setup. Can't wait to see her in beta!
According to leaks Jade sounds like a sub DPS that’s meant to work with other Erudition characters like Argenti since she deals a follow up attack that’s based on the number of enemies hit but her buff has a caveat in that she seems to take off huge chunks of HP from allies who have her buff where in some cases if they don’t have enough HP she just drops them to 1 HP so someone like Loucha might be more valuable in teams with her rather than Aventurine just so that he can heal HP that she takes away from allies if they don’t meet the requirements.
I'm glad to see a content creator spend a couple minutes talking about the weird "mommy" thing. I'm older than you, at 50, but I guess we're on the same wavelength here. The characters many Star Rail players are calling "mommies"... I just call them grown women.
Hoyoverse does have a problem with making shorter characters look way younger than they should both in Genshin and in Star Rail (mainly due to the fact that they don't adjust the proportions enough to give them less child-like features to make them read as older). It's safe to assume Firefly isn't a child due to her being a Stellaron Hunter but she blatantly does look like a kid which makes certain scenes like "Are you two on a date?" feel really awkward due to how young she looks compared to both Stelle and Caellus. It's something that I hope Hoyo can fix with time cause man it's really weird.
I agree with you. But I think it's because asian people do look younger even when they're adults. I personally saw Firefly and my Caelus as a sibling duo rather than lovers.
@@AIA222-yu5ml I see where you're coming from, but there is a large difference between visually conveying a character as young or youthful and as a child. Briar from League of Legends is a great example of this problem as her in-game model looks young and youthful but she still manages to be conveyed as an adult, but her splash art has the proportions of the face and head all wrong and it makes her look like a child. It's all about facial and head proportions and Hoyo doesn't do enough to the template to make them still look young but not young enough to be a child. And I never said I saw TB and Firefly as lovers. I was just stating that Acheron's dating line feels weird when there is such a visual disparity between the two's ages. I personally don't see them that way, rather as friends as by that point they had literally only just met anyways.
I wanted Loucha for Blade, but i skipped him for Avent. I don't regret, i needed a shielder for end game, and i like his character and kit. So I'm hoping they'll release a better sustain for Blade later. P.s. Firefly looks like a high schooler for me to 😅
If we talking hotter scale Jade is definitely on the winning side, saying that I will probably try to get them both simply be completely skipping 2.2 banners
They're both good designs so that aside its more to do with how much more they contribute to your team compositions and if you like their play mechanic. Jade is important tto be better than QQ damage and skill points. Firefly is important to privide a decent fire unit that isnt standard banner.
Destruction as a path is just broken so given the trend of DHIL and JL, she's going to be no different. Jade will probably be viable in follow up teams consisting of topaz, aventurine, and ratio so that will only make her a niche. I won't be pulling for anyone for these next two patches because I'm saving up for more nihility units lol.

Gotta respect not pulling for meta units all the time. I honestly think investing too much into your main dps will hurt your team variety. Though as a new player, my e0s1 Acheron has allowed me to catch up to a great extent, mostly due to exp farming.
In terms of powercreep I think the biggest culprit is Lightcones and Eidelons of newer units are way stronger nowadays ( e6 YY 35% dmg vs. 200% dmg e6 Acheron boost on single target)
Honestly, they should let people be able to toggle off Eidelons.
I wish they would make it worthwhile to pull for older units, not that they're bad, but we get so few stellar jades it feels impossible to justify pulling an A-tier unit if you have to save for 1-2 months.
That's a great idea...if they would reduce the cost of re-run banners from guaranteed 90 pulls to something like 75 it would be more worthwhile due to the powercreep.

Firefly looks like a Fire Jingliu and that is perfect for me. Maybe one reason is that I like Metroid/Samus since I was a kid.
IPC-FUA is really too expensive for me because I would need Topaz and Robin. (I am not F2P but far away from a whale too...)
So I will skip FUA (Topaz, Robin, Jade) although I like Topaz/Numbys design/charakter.

But the 4 starquantum euridition Qingque also has a follow up attack on her, It's not as frequent as the other units but she does trigger follow ups as well.
having follow up and being follow up unit is different things. Kafka and yanqing also have follow ups but it's not their primary damage, neither it is for qingque
There's still the issue of where you would even put Jade into mono quantum. Mono quantum doesn't really exist without silverwolf, and the qingque really wants sparkle.

Since she wants to buff erudition units anyway and adds extra damage onto the field jade + qq might be an okay combo in pure fiction. But that's just a guess.
She feels more niche for FUA teams specific over quantum.
honestly we should just wait and see when these two characters to come out to see and maybe see what leaks have to say but nonetheless excited for both characters. I don't think we should have the mentality to judge these characters they literally just revealed them without knowing what they do.
If you check leaks you can kinda see already, agree that for popularity and being fire destruction firefly is going to be more op overall, and probably really good animations
Jade is busted for FUA teams. I would argue way better than herta. She gives herself a CRT DMG bonus up to 120%. She gains 3% per stack per FUA. Every FUA jade does gives her 5 stacks up to 50 stacks. She buffs allies as well which helps her gain charges for her FUA. She has a blast basic attack which is one of her main sources of damage. Jade looks extremely fun. Also quick tidbit, physical is the rarest weakness. While quantum is tied for 3rd most common weakness. Now that graph hasn't been updated in a few weeks so the weaknesses could be wrong.
4:19 o still find it a bit funny that people past their thirties can look back other lives and think they can say they where significantly more mature in college then they where by the end of Highschool… you where not. 18-25 is all the same trash for 90% of people if you went to college instead of getting married and starting work at 18

That is a playstyle I hate (outside of herta coz kurukuru is just adorable and Clara coz Svarog sfx is just so satisfying). There is a reason why I skipped topaz and didnt go for aventurine (tbh, if ratio isnt free then I wouldnt have him as well on my account). And the only reason I have Jing Yuan is coz he is part of the Quintet (coz i really love Jingliu).
IPC? I dont like anyone from there. Thats 1. 2, follow up attackers? Thats 2. Erudition?! Thats 3 and shes out.
I prefer Jade design and character (by a lot) but as someone who doesn't own a single IPC/Follow up team character it kinda make it hard for her to be viable in my account, so I'll probably pull Firefly.
I didn't look at leaks, but i heard jade will also be a follow-up character which actually draws me away from pulling her. I just have to many follow up attacj units : Clara, jing yuan, topaz, ratio, i really hope to get aventurine, so i don't know really, i feel like it would be a bit much i guess? But her hat is so damn cool man:(
Yes the team is expensive, because you are going to get robin too soon that is probably for that team, so if you want the dream team of topaz aventurine robin jade/ratio got to pull a lot in a short time lol unless reruns

I'm also a newish player and one of the main things I'm worried about is who is going to be getting reruns. I want to stay a light spender and still needing dps, supports, and potentially another sustain if Gallagher doesn't cut it past level 7 of MOC. I'm lucky to have started around Acheron's banner so all the jades they throw at you for story content got me enough to get her. But a major mistake, in my opinion, was getting her to E2S1 cause now I'm broke and can't expand my teams. Not that I have the time/stamina to farm for new characters anyways...
yeah getting e2s1 acheron means you have one op team, but end game requires 2 full teams. at least ratio can be the main dps of your other side. what 2nd team can you put together currently? i started same as you myself, but lost the pity 3 times in a row when going for e0s1 acheron, as well as adventurine. so feeling pretty broke too though can make 2 teams to try to push MOC/PF after i hit TB 60
@@lenwok3222 I have Dr. Ratio, Hanya, Tingyun, and Adventurine. They do ok, but still need a ton of work. Traces are only at 7, 7, 7, missing two major traces for both Hanya and Tingyun. Only Acheron, Adventurine, and Ratio are level 80, and only their 3 light cones are level 80. My most built is Acheron who's still only at 3700 attack and 39/117 crit. Though I run her with Yukong, so there's a free 25/55 crit. I really think using stamina much sooner to start farming would have been very beneficial. Nothing crazy, but just used all my stamina once a day, it's very easy to do so. But I just mainlined the quests unless I need mats to level up some.

I find Jade more compelling as a character, and I like her design. However, I haven't really heard anything that exciting about her kit. So I'm a bit conflicted, because Firefly is probably more powerful, but less interesting to me. Hopefully Ruan Mei reruns and solves all my decision making issues.
Ruan mei rerun should buff firefly even more, but yes feel like we are missing details from jade of how good she could really be vs other eruditions, quantum and follow up units, because firefly hasn't any competition in fire, and if its break dps wouldn't compete with boothill because he is single target
I’m not a huge fan of Firefly personally but Sam’s design is just way too cool to skip. Maybe the upcoming stories will make me enjoy her more

I'm kinda same on Sam, before we 100% knew that Sam = firefly, I was hyped for him, badass mecha edgelord. Now it's a waifu uwu girl, yeah she is cute and all, but I like more badass characters. Looking for gameplay first, before deciding in the end
that's interesting I'm kinda the opposite way, I probably wouldn't have wanted to pull for either of them if they were separate characters because I don't like playing as guy characters much but I really like the stellaron hunters as a group and was hyped for Sam's introduction into the story, and I wasn't too interested in Firefly as a character but I think her design is very cute, so combined I get to play as a cool stellaron hunter mech and also a cute anime girl so this is the best of both worlds imo
It's weird putting Erudition as a con, when every single Erudition trivializes Pure Fiction when on element. It is not a coincidence they made PF mostly Ice, Fire, Lightning and Physical weak.
Jade will most likely be attacking at a higher frequency, something QQ can't do to clear waves of mobs.
Yes? thats a pro he said, what he meant is that being erudition is normally a disadvantage in moc and simulated universe, unless they make it like archeron that is just stupidly broken, thats why people say destruction its the best path of the game, at least for dps because harmony keeps breaking the meta

We've seen posts of people struggling on PF with Jing Liu and DHIL. We've also seen Erudition clearing MoC 12 plenty of times before, even if it can be slower comparatively.
They give the same amount of jades and literally alternate on updates.
Firefly waifu? Jade mommy? Nah I’ll pull for Kamen Rider SAM the animations in the boss fight looked amazing, now being the one using that? Just like Archeron I expect some incredible animations, that is why I went for blade even tho he’s not particularly strong compared to the current best dps he was just too cool not to pull Firefly/SAM I expect similar badass animations in battle

Considering her original leaked kit. (Which could change in beta.) She doesn't seem too great in mono quantum, which makes it difficult to consider it a pro for her. I dont even know who you'd remove for her. Silverwolf? But then it's not even mono quantum outside of juat enemies, already having quantum weakness
as much as a like firefly i dont have a team for her so skip. we pull for Jade
as a 20 year old man, i'm uncomfortable with overwhelming sexualisation of every single character by community, so i personally don't really engage with it, i just don't think it's funny that so many creators make a joke of them zooming on thighs and chests of characters, licking their lips and going "oohh boy hehehe" 12 times per every single video it seems like
If it makes you uncomfortable, call them out on it and then give them a dislike and remove your sub. I do the same when I hear content creators using slurs. If they think it's cool to act edgy despite being 20+, the joke's on them as you'll move on and have a successful life while they'll slowly socially rot away but not even understand why.
Firefly has pull value being a Limited 5* destruction and will likely be OP. However the story didn't sell me on her. Effectively to me some girl I met bought me lunch, showed me around, and then proceeded to trauma dump on me within 1-2 hours of meeting her. And my reaction the whole was: 😐. They did so much better with Aventurine regarding that aspect.
Jade I'm 50/50 on. I gotta see how her kit works. Erudition characters can ST so I'm not that concerned about it, but it's true their multipliers tend to be on the lower side, so lower damage. But if you can get all the rewards with them, who cares 🤷. Although her value to me is lower since I have two built 4 star Quantum Dps units.
Pretty sure firefly story is far from over in penacony, not to mention she's a stelleron hunter so her relevance to the overall story is gonna be quite high. We might get alot of her along with sunday and robin in 2.2, so i guess we will see how it goes✌️.

HuoHuo gaps Luocha hard in regards to Firefly teams. Heals, extra cleanse on top of Firefly’s self cleanse and provides Atk and Energy to an Ult focused DPS.

i stopped being into animated chars when i was 10 and nowadays we have people in their mid-twenties and much older who act like 8 year olds and crush on "cartoon" characters. it's more than weird to me
I don’t play the game for that… but it doesn’t matter… people experience things differently, that’s it… so caring is seen as weird in my case and letting that get in the way of how you perceive people is weird in my eyes because it doesn’t matter.

Firefly is so uninteresting to me as well. I liked the idea of SAM as a mecha and the boss fight was really cool but everything else is so uninteresting. I hate how they tried to push the player into liking Firefly despite being a glorified NPC guide to pad out the patch length. There just wasn't enough time to let the player feel attached to her. I feel the same thing about Robin honestly. I'm not sure why people like her either but maybe we'll see more of her during 2.2.
I already have Blade and Daniel for destruction so I also don't need Firefly for that reason. I'm getting Jade because I liked her in the story and she just seems way cooler. I hate that they had to merge Firefly and SAM. I think it took away so much value from SAM.

To each their own i guess. I was sleeping on both firefly and sam individually until i found out that they are the same. Something about a character you thought you knew ended up having a completely different side is just a very interesting concept to me.

The fact that she was a girl that probably looked like Firefly does in the dreamscape before she lost touch with her organic self and SAM is how she manifests now in the physical world but CAN project the Firefly image as well. Imagine being a person like that who before you could grow old even your rare illness ripped your life away? What would YOU do? I think it's cool that she decided to or was recruited to the Stellaron Hunters. Firefly is incredibly interesting. To me anyway. Sure some think she was soppy in the dreamworld etc. But why wouldn't someone that went through that romanticize experiencing dreamscapes like that? Makes sense.

They were also alluding to her having this incredibly tragic backstory but then they didn't even hint at what it could be about, so there was no incentive to even feel sorry for her for that reason. And with 2.1, we can see how powerful a good backstory can really be for a character, since Aventurine was despised by a large portion of the community until 2.1 came around and he was revealed to have this tragic backstory which helps the player to sympathize with him more, and I feel that's exactly what 2.0 lacked. There were no emotional stakes involved, so while it was shocking because it came out of nowhere, I also didn't care when it was over. Even Tingyun's death bothered me more, especially since if you got her you could also get attached to her via her gameplay.
I also think that Firefly's death really took away the mystery surrounding Robin's death.
Overall, I just think 2.0 was really poorly paced.
I mean, to be fair if Jade's final kit is the same or very similar to the leaked kit, then she would be a great match-up with Jing Yuan which you have!
I'd say that it also depends on whether or not you already have a Fire and/or Quantum DPS, which would mostly determine who you'd get, but I say go for who you really want and like in terms of design (and gameplay later on).

I mean fire kinda doesn't exist yet as a main dps, so firefly has all the main spot, and if the rumors of she implating fire are right then gallagher receives a huge boost going with her

Yup I checked Jade's full kit and for now, she appears to synergize so well with others Erudition Follow Up aka Herta, Jing Yuan and Himeko.
Basically she acts like a dps / support and seem to be way better in a duo dps setup.
Can't wait to see her in beta!
With Robin on the team, she will be great.
According to leaks Jade sounds like a sub DPS that’s meant to work with other Erudition characters like Argenti since she deals a follow up attack that’s based on the number of enemies hit but her buff has a caveat in that she seems to take off huge chunks of HP from allies who have her buff where in some cases if they don’t have enough HP she just drops them to 1 HP so someone like Loucha might be more valuable in teams with her rather than Aventurine just so that he can heal HP that she takes away from allies if they don’t meet the requirements.

I'm glad to see a content creator spend a couple minutes talking about the weird "mommy" thing. I'm older than you, at 50, but I guess we're on the same wavelength here. The characters many Star Rail players are calling "mommies"... I just call them grown women.
Hoyoverse does have a problem with making shorter characters look way younger than they should both in Genshin and in Star Rail (mainly due to the fact that they don't adjust the proportions enough to give them less child-like features to make them read as older). It's safe to assume Firefly isn't a child due to her being a Stellaron Hunter but she blatantly does look like a kid which makes certain scenes like "Are you two on a date?" feel really awkward due to how young she looks compared to both Stelle and Caellus. It's something that I hope Hoyo can fix with time cause man it's really weird.
I agree with you. But I think it's because asian people do look younger even when they're adults. I personally saw Firefly and my Caelus as a sibling duo rather than lovers.
@@AIA222-yu5ml I see where you're coming from, but there is a large difference between visually conveying a character as young or youthful and as a child. Briar from League of Legends is a great example of this problem as her in-game model looks young and youthful but she still manages to be conveyed as an adult, but her splash art has the proportions of the face and head all wrong and it makes her look like a child. It's all about facial and head proportions and Hoyo doesn't do enough to the template to make them still look young but not young enough to be a child.
And I never said I saw TB and Firefly as lovers. I was just stating that Acheron's dating line feels weird when there is such a visual disparity between the two's ages. I personally don't see them that way, rather as friends as by that point they had literally only just met anyways.
I wanted Loucha for Blade, but i skipped him for Avent. I don't regret, i needed a shielder for end game, and i like his character and kit.
So I'm hoping they'll release a better sustain for Blade later.

They're both good designs so that aside its more to do with how much more they contribute to your team compositions and if you like their play mechanic. Jade is important tto be better than QQ damage and skill points. Firefly is important to privide a decent fire unit that isnt standard banner.
Destruction as a path is just broken so given the trend of DHIL and JL, she's going to be no different. Jade will probably be viable in follow up teams consisting of topaz, aventurine, and ratio so that will only make her a niche. I won't be pulling for anyone for these next two patches because I'm saving up for more nihility units lol.
