    Ahhh foxy foxy foxy.... CIG is not wrong, its just the confusing interface that now displays price per container and not SCU (get your calculators out time for traders). So your 4SCU RMC container at 50K sale, or your 16SCU containers at 1.2m credits sale, are about right for TDD buying in prices. Minus a small demand (surplus stock) price reduction, which is driven by demand and capacity of stock, lowering the price with each separate sale.
    For example, if you were to sell each 16SCU box of RMC individually, each sale will net you less than the one before, as TDD prices are adjusted pending on stock, which drives demand and thus prices.
    And if you think that's too complicated, you should have seen the confusion we had for days a few weeks back while testing this feature in evo and not much was working. Also, remember 32SCU containers are a future proof feature, so expect bugs bugs and... more bugs.

    • @JesseHiraya
      @JesseHiraya 28 дней назад +3

      Wait I'm confused. So are you saying RMC being overstocked at the TDD is why Foxy lost 50% on the trade?
      Or wait... buying the RMC cost 27k per unit is because the supply was low?
      Somehow, Foxy lost money on this trade! I'm so confused!

    • @snowmind
      @snowmind 28 дней назад +4

      @@JesseHiraya Perhaps it wasn't as clearly explained why what Foxy did would never work.
      TLDR: all outposts and space stations sell RMC at higher price than any spaceport trade centre (TDD/BCD etc) will buy.
      When the prices in the past used to be per SCU unit, it was easier to understand the price difference, but with new UI prices being per container, people could easily be fooled into thinking they hit a bargain, when in reality they are making a huge loss (Foxy had an ~50% hit/loss on that trade).
      The reason for all of this was because when salvage was introduced back in 3.18 (after cargo refactoring), people were making millions of credits due to the spaceport RMC ridiculously high buy-in prices. So, around the 3.22 patch (and keeping in mind the trade was fully decoupled from local servers already), all outposts, space stations and spaceports (eg A18 TDD) RMC prices, were adjusted accordingly to reflect a supply of RMC under quota, with higher buy-in price from NPC's, than sell price to the trade centres.
      Making your own RMC is pure profit, but trading RMC from NPC's is a huge loss. And to be honest, after making 1000's of trips for UEX, it was noticed that it was not a gradual change (ie supply/demand), but a forced choice to rebase/refactor RMC prices by CIG, differentiating RMC from all other commodities.
      Hope that helps clear it up.

      @@snowmind so this was a specific change for 3.24 to no longer allow buying and selling RMC to be profitable. Got it

    • @Metallas
      @Metallas 28 дней назад

      @@snowmind so cig is self sabotaging the economy then. Sounds like par for the course with terrible upper management in place. One more decision on how to keep the players from earning more than a pittance at a time. You can grind for 100-1000 hours to get your next ship or just log into the pledge store and save your time while also keeping cig’s lights on. Rebalancing shouldn’t mean we earn pennies on the dollar in profit. Supply and demand can make sense when done right. Feels like another cig 1 step forward 3 steps back dance.

    • @snowmind
      @snowmind 28 дней назад +2

      @@JesseHiraya If memory serves right, RMC was drastically adjusted end of 2023 (patch 3.22.x) to be in line with the introduction of the Salvage Rights (legal), Salvage Job/Clean Up (illegal) missions and their payouts. It has been nerfed (slightly adjusted) a few times since, but not changed at all in 3.24 (which is 3.23.2 really - wink wink).
      Bottom line, stay away from RMC and CM (Construction Materials) if you want to trade profitably. On the other hand, scrape, munch or pirate it to your heart's content for massive profits ;)
      -----
      EDIT: The majority of serious traders, usually use tools to help them estimate the profitability of a route trade in SC. I use UEX (free), which you pick the commodity you want to trade, from the location you want to buy it from, and similarly the destination of the sale, and then you can see the % of profit to make, expenses, risk involved etc etc Just google UEX or head to uexcorp dot space/ and have a look. Many other similar services also available for free.

  • @DarkFader2000
    @DarkFader2000 18 дней назад +1

    Yes, the pricing per scu is off and needs corrected. But people need to remember, larger ships are supposed to be multi-crew ships. Hauling 696 SCU in your C2 from a small outpost solo is not going to be a thing. You'll need escorts. You'll need mulitple crew to help unload and load. So yeah, you might get 2 mil per run but then you have to split the profits 5-8 ways. Small outposts are for small ships. You want safe, guaranteed profits as a solo player? Pick an armistice zone and enjoy your smaller profit margin.

    Looking at the screenshots, the cost to buy at Rappel was 27,000 aUEC per SCU but the sell price was only 12,718 aUEC per SCU, so a loss of 14,282 per SCU (despite the extra hassle of manual loading and unloading and risk of being shot at on the ground). The prices when selling were not per SCU, as the GUI showed, but per 'load', so 50,870 aUEC for the single 4-SCU crate (4 x 12,718) and 1,221,000 aUEC for the six 16-SCU crates (i.e. 96 x 12,718).

    RMC should not be a commodity that is included in a trading loop anyway, that and CM belongs to the salvagers

    Looks like 1) it's pirate paradise 2) trading will be dead because assuming you are going to profit for it if you have to do in 4 ore more ppl because of pirates it won't be profitable much to divide in 4 or more players
    Sidenote: He lost one container which was fighting with the ship and the disappeared. They want to physicalize when the physics is still a fucking mess and i really hope they fix ship exploding randomly because otherwise it's gonna be a shit show more than already is

    Can you stack RMC per outpost?
    If so, you could have a small ship and fly around the outposts until you stock up like 700 SCU of RMC and then fly in with a C2 once and collect it.

    • @cpt_foxyloxy
      @cpt_foxyloxy  28 дней назад

      you can, but consider the danger from pirates, that could be extremely risky to put all that RMC in one ship

    • @DanielNit
      @DanielNit 28 дней назад

      @@cpt_foxyloxy Yes sure it is far easier in 3.24 than before to actually jump people and rob them of their loot, but for pirates it is also far more tedious and dangerous as well.
      And my main point is, if the average trader only flies 100 SCU, many people may not consider it worth it for 100 SCU and thus skip the process. Thus suddenly hauling out 700 SCU is unexpected, especially if you just were there seconds ago to gather and didnt get shot at.

    CIG decision-making and implementation now appears to be equally incompetent, or is it? How can it be that such a state of play could arise in short measure, with one mistake after another compounding things into a really terrible experience, killing all hope for leisure time well-spent? They are not just sucking time from your day, they are vacuuming up any remaining optimism.
    So I can only conclude that this is deliberate. Because clearly, there are no credible signs that CIG are listening and taking any serious heed of the morass of valid criticism.
    Thus, this looks to me like an exit strategy. Kill whatever there was of a game, kill the player base, take the money and run. There may still be some months to go before this happens, and even if it's not deliberate, that's exactly where this dream is headed.

    • @Metallas
      @Metallas 28 дней назад

      @@techspiritus sure feels like some kind of an exit strategy. I wonder if running everybody off besides the most dedicated white knights and taking a massive loss on this are some of the conditions needed to not default on their financial obligations and take a big hit. Somethings got to be going on for this level of bad decisions to keep happening.

    It's look like selling price is bugged and calculates based on 4 SCU box. First you selled 1x 4 SCU box for price 50,87k which is 1 SCU sell price. Then you got 1,22 mil which is exactly 6x4x4 SCU box for a wrong price 50,87 k/box.
    I think that this could be kiosk bug, which is calculating wrong prices when you switching box sizes. First time you clicked "MAX" and that could make all calculation wrong...

      if they managed to screw up that big that migh be a massive potential exploit if people could for example just sell one 32 scu container and then keep selling 1scu boxes with the terminal thinking they are 32 scu containers instead. If that actually made it to live that would be a guaranteed wipe again.

    Yeah no, not even trying to attempt doing any commodity trading in 3.24 because thats a 100% guaranteed loss of investment at this point. Outside armisty zones there will be campers everywhere and within them they just wait to grab the cargo off the elevator instead or do flybys with ship tractor beams. The fact that they even let you buy boxes that are too big for the local cargo elevator is just hilarious and going to be a very costly mistake for a lot of people initially.

    • @jmcnear6688
      @jmcnear6688 21 день назад

      Don't forget that NPC pirates can still attack you while in armistice zones, so even if no other players are around they could still spawn and destroy your ship while you are loading.

      @@stas-peterschmitz3200 Star Citizen is a mainly pvp game, the reason that there are more pve and a bit more pve players today is just because the game is not finished yet and the main pvp loop is not here. You can do pirating it's interesting but limited RN. With housing, server meshing and persistance + the tools for orgs, you will understand that the PVE in this game is only here to make PVP better. As a pve player you will be able to avoid pvp situation and it's ok but the main interest of this game as an MMO is the PVP. Half of the ships are made for combat or are interesting in logistic for pvp, people don't care about playing an MMO to play alone to fight IA, if the game is mainly pve focused it will die in one to five years 100%.
