- In this video I leave my camp at North Shore campground on the Missouri River in Fort Thompson, South Dakota. I head a bit south west to Lake Byre in Kennebec, South Dakota. Its a convenient free camping area off I-90. I stay one night on move west towards Badlands National Park. I find a camp on public land just outside on Badlands NP. This is a beautiful area with a unique landscape. It offers very convenient access to the National Park as well. I am very grateful to have you all along for the ride!!! Thanks for watching!
*My name is Brian. I started living full time in a self built camper van in 2014 in my hometown of San Diego, CA. I hit the road full-time in 2015 to pursue seasonal work and travel around the U.S. I find free camping on public land and enjoy photography, hiking, biking, and kayaking in nature. Join me on my adventures.
Thanks for watching!

We live in such an incredibly beautiful country-such diversity! Thank you for taking us along! ☮️❤️☀️
The most relaxing vlog on the internet.
Wow Brian what an awesome area for drone shots ! I kept thinking how arduous it would be to recover the drone if it went down out there ! Safe Travels Amigo 👊🏼
The drone footage was intense. What a wicked cool place
yeah, I was kinda surprised that Brian took it out in that wind!
I'd be afraid of loosing it, if it was mine
Awesome as usual. Thanks so much for putting these out there Brian and taking us all along. I'm sure there are quite a few of us home dwellers that live vicariously through you and really enjoy your adventures. Safe travels
Brian, Thank you for another amazing video. Really enjoyed the footage of the bighorn sheep. Stay safe and take care.
Wow. Can't wait to start Van Life. So beautiful and all the peace and quiet. The views, the animals. Thank you.
Congratulations Brian! Coming up on 85,000 well deserved subs. We love your channel-thanks for all you do. May God bless you & Kelly with healthy safe travels. 🙏✌🌎💞
Definitely different from your usual forested campsites but oh so beautiful. God's country.
A meeting sounds like a great idea. I met you in 2018 when you led our caravan. You, me and 1 other rig were the only ones when I arrived in Ehrenberg. I had just started full-timing that September. It was a nice group, and you are a genuinely kind and authentic person. I remember you meeting Kelly- I think when we were at American Girl or Borrego Springs. She had her pop-up truck camper then. It'd be nice to see you again.
Love that background piano music, hauntingly beautiful
I would love to meet up. We live in southern AZ. We are between rigs. Due to my husbands health and age. I’m the only driver. The Class C we had was too much for me to manage on my own. We sold it last spring. I hate not being able to get out there and travel. I’d do car camping but he wouldn’t be comfortable at this point doing that. Anyway we are in Sierra Vista about 19 miles from Tombstone and 70 miles south east of Tucson. Keep us updated on your progress and where you’ll be as you head this way. I love your adventures. Be safe.
Hey Brian, Sounds like a great idea for a meet up. We have worked at other van builds. Meeting new people and giving back to the community is always good. Stay safe!
The Badlands are cool, but that wind is horrible. It will be getting very cold in that country before long. Arizona sounds good and warm. Peaceful travels my friend.
Starting my day with AdventureVanMan, always an inspiration for me. Looking forward to a meetup video!
The only thing better than watching all the new places you visit is seeing all the familiar ones. Your videos are the best Brian.✌️
Thank you for showing us the beautiful, wide-open scenery of South Dakota. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Always amazed by the Badlands; they look so inhospitable and beautiful at the same time. Great video.
Thanks for bringing us there!!
Really enjoyed it
Thanks for another great video. Your journey has been inspiring. I recently bought 10 ft box truck similar to yours and currently building my future home. Thanks again for the inspiration!!
Hi y'all !
I'm in Florida for the winter season and mom's birthday, 90 years old!
Happy trails to all our nomad friends !!! Meetup is a great idea !!
Maybe see ya down there!
Happy trails to you! I'm in north Florida now waiting on vtwinkicker to get here...we would be interested in a meetup... maybe we'll see you out there :)
Hey Duane! Happy Birthday to your Mom! Kelly and I reminisce of our winter in Florida often. It was a special time. Take care brother✌🏼
I was surprised Brian you're not doing a potato Harvest this year?
I know you and Kelly have done it the last couple of years.
I'm the lady that wrote about my autistic grandson a few years ago that every time he hears your music on your video he comes running and loves to watch your videos videos. I think I wrote that when he was like 2 1/2 hes now 7 and he still comes running..😊 Thank you for bringing that little magic smile to his face ..
Love the wild rugged country.
America is so beautiful, thanks for sharing
First I click on the video. Then I click the like button because I know it's gonna be good!
Your intro music always puts me at ease. Thanks for sharing your travels with us!
Wow The badlands are beyond words ❤️❤️ Great idea for a meetup ✌️Miss you Kelly
💥Absolute Awesomeness💥 at it's best! 🦌🌾🐂🌾🦬🌾🐐
It’s always nice hearing from my favorite nomad.❤️
Beautiful scenery. Take care.
Ola Brian...I am probably not the only subscriber of yours that does this, but, as I watch your videos, I like to open up Google Maps, and trace your travels on there. I am hoping to visit some of the very same spots that you have utilized. Safe travels, and remember, to keep being AWESOME!!! 🚚
It always amazes me the Beautiful country God has made for us to enjoy.
I like the music you played.
When I saw the Pheasant hunters it made me smile.
I remember eating pheasant many many years ago, and never have had the opportunity to have it again.
I do recall it was very good tasting.
Brian it is amazing how the earth was formed. Those were some nice camping places to stay at. Great looking animals. Enjoyed and thanks. Please tell Kelly Hi. See you in the next one.
Totally beautiful. Lucky you, what a wonderful life. You have a gift, thank you for sharing.
I love the spots you found. I was wondering how the truck was in the wind. I hope you have smooth travels into the southwest!😎
What A Beautiful Place! Beautiful!! Hugs!!!
H÷y Brian great camps are always found its what you have with you And who you have with you that makes it all worth while
Hi Brian, would love to part of that group when you arrive in AZ. I’m back in Southern California for work for now. Hopefully returning back to northern AZ (Kingman area) for the winter myself. Safe travels 🦅✌🏼
Beautiful footage Brian. I especially liked the droan footage. The Badlands is my favorite park. We stayed at a campground down in the park years ago. I never did go on that dirt road. Im planning on being at another meet up already set and planned for Jan 28th thru Feb 5th would love to meet you and Kelly. Ive been following you for many years now.
I would love a meet up to include van build helping each other. Thanks for the video!
👍 The Bad Lands look awesome and those four legged mowers do a good job keeping the grass cut 😁☮
I enjoy taking time out to view your cool videos. Happy holidays Brian and Kelly
Camp life groove ...ooooh yesss. Best way to live, people think I am crazy for staying in a trailer on 1/3rd of an acre
but it is so peaceful, little birds outside the window making nests :D
I enjoyed your trip through South Dakota years ago, and this trip is fun to watch also. It was hot last time, so much cooler this go around.
absolutely beautiful. love the big horn sheep. I am envious. I am in central Pennsylvania and it is 28 degrees. have fun and be safe.
I have a small piece of land in Grand Canyon Junction, previously Valle AZ. It's where routes 180 and 64 meet. It's a little bumpy getting to it but your welcome to stay there if you choose.
Thank you!
Meet up sounds great, would love to share a campfire. The badlands look awesome, thanks for sharing ☮️
Thanks for sharing 😎✌️
So cold and windy. I had to turn up the thermostat watching this. LOL! I was freaking when you got so close to the edge. Yikes! Beautiful drone shots.
Never underestimate the beauty of the prairies! We all go through separation anxiety when you and Kelly are apart! Happy trails...holding down the fort in Alberta.👍😎🇨🇦📷🌏
You have such a great gift of finding peace and beauty everywhere you go. Thank you for sharing!
Badlands are spectacular scenery but so desolate almost eerie but so beautiful. Love all your videos. Thank you for sharing your adventures!
I love camping off season and having places all to myself. Thanks for taking us along!
Doesn't it just blow your mind that these free campsites are often empty?? I'm at Tom Johns Landing in Northwest Florida and it is absolutely stunning. Got the whole campground to myself.
Still my favourite vanlife channel, your vids are awesome 👍
Your videos bring peace.
On a trip out west s few years ago we spent one unplanned day and night at Badlands, glad we did!!!! Enjoy the road and stay safe.
Yes, that would be a very cool idea: some type of meet-up for us nomads to have some kind of workshop.
The badlands are wild. I'll have to look up on the net to see how they were formed. Love seeing the Big Horn Sheep. That was so nice.
I don't know if I have told u, but ur truck is so beautiful.
Thanks Brian for sharing your adventures
Into the wilderness take care
God Bless 🙏
Not really into group activities yet...however what a great idea to get a small group together to help improving your rigs. Once in awhile that extra hand helps. Safe travels
Foul weather is great for allowing you to appreciate a snug home. At the same time, what a luxury to be able to say, "Enough of this!" and drive said home toward more temperate climes. Safe travels!
That landscape is amazing, thanks for sharing.
Just amazing country brother, thanks for taking us along! Be safe have fun!
Always a smile on my heart when you post..another beautiful video..thanks Brian..much Love be with YOU 🕊️☺️
Brian- those views are so beautiful. I got tears in my eyes because they are stunning to me. I've lived in the big city all my life & never traveled like you. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Great adventure. The drone footage--loved it. Music is spot on, even the just-loud-enough volume.
You pick cool places thanks for taking me along be safe stay out of the wind
Those were defiantly some beautiful views.
Back roads are it for me, unless I'm forced onto the interstate. Lol. Great campsites. Thanks for sharing, Brian.
Backroads arre nice but when you reach half a tank , look for a gas station
@@lowlifeangler Half tank is already my new "empty" after buying my Suboverland. Lol.
Thanks Brian. Yes a meet up in AZ later this winter would be wonderful. Safe travels to you, 👋
While the Badlands are beautiful that's one spot we never got to yet still never made it to Yellowstone or the Grand Tetons either perhaps someday before I die. I enjoy all your videos. Been watching a lot of them trying to get them all under my belt.
I love the badlands. I have a that good friend lives near there. I usually visit in warm weather. I love the wildlife viewing in that area.
What a beautiful place to be !
Saludos Desde Fort Lauderdale Florida .
Drone footage is top notch!
Really enjoying your videos. 👍😎✌️🚐
I was there at the Nomad View area outside Badlands NP in mid Oct. and that same truck camper and trailer was there...they must not mind the wind and cooler weather. My pop up truck camper felt like it was going over the edge when the gusts got close to 60mph one day...but it is a cool place nonetheless. Safe travels Brian.
Wow amazing scenery!! thank you :)
This one reminded me of the early Brian vids from 2016 with all that wind..Awesome content, thanks and safe travels!
That spot in the Badlands is awesome 🤩
Good stuff Brian. It is a good feeling when you can check off those pesky, but necessary chores. You found some great spots 👍🏼
The badlands arent so bad afterall, lol. Nice drone footage. Love seeing the scenery and wildlife. Peaceful. 😊👍
Southern Utah's winter is very nice n warm
I would come in my Vanagon. thanks for all the footage. I have enjoyed your channel for a couple years.
Incredible sun set!
Sounds good, I'll come out
The magnificent beauty and desolation of the Badlands is well presented in this video! Thanks 👍😊
thank you for your time to let us see the beuty of same place in south dekota
Great relaxing video Brian, thanks for putting it together with good music and sharing it with us, safe travels an away we go. 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👍🏻 🚐
Nice filming at the wall camp. Really enjoy the videos Brian
The idea of a meetup sounds good, I camped in that spot just outside of Wall, Nebraska the last two years. I’d like to meet you and could use some help with maintenance projects from a group. Currently, I’m just north of Quartzsite and soon it will get very crowded here. I don’t recommend this area for a meet location. I’m in a 30’ Class C. I’ll stay tuned for news. 🤞
Beautiful!
Thank you for sharing your life with us!
Beautiful footage such tame animals so cool to see!
I plan to be in Quartzite around the time of the still-unannounced RTR. I hope I can make your meetup if it's after that. I'd love to meet you and Kelly, and say thanks for all the great videos.
Beautiful.
Hi Brian, loved the video what a beautiful spot to camp. I’m sure you have answered this question before but could you tell me what you use to find all the remote camping spots you go to? They are so beautiful
Awesome 👌
Absolutely loved the Badlands footage. I was there in June and really like the uniqueness of that part of the country. Looking forward to information on your meet-up. Spending winter in Arizona as well, so maybe our paths will cross. See you down the road!
