Gary Clark Jr, Gem Archer, Lennon, Harrison, McCartney, Thom Yorke, Tom Petty, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Paul Weller, The Edge, Joe Pass, Dave Davies, and John Mayer, have all played an Epiphone Casino at some point.
@Deninno, Martin tbh when he first started doing guitar of the day, I was very skeptical that he could match Mark Agnesi…boy did he surpass him. Rock on Lemmo…Rock on
I have a blonde 90's one with cream gibson pickups. It's sounds great without an amp. Plugged in, it's a rock monster with overdrive. Warm clean tones too. I love mine.
ML that’s what you do.. take a time vault wonder and help us all understand what an incredible time machine it is by thoughtful song selection! Thank you..
Beautiful guitar and great interpretations of the Beatles' songs, especially "Because." I have a 2014 goldtop Casino, and while it's not vintage like this one, it is a wonderful and versatile guitar. Like Lemmo says, it's great to play sitting on the couch unplugged when everyone is asleep.
My beloved 61’ LP SG was stolen and I bought an Epiphone Casino that was the twin to yours that was brand new. I needed to replace the SG. I never did bond with it and thought the white pickguard looked geeky, but then I found an old Gibson ES355 that I bought. The Casino got sold and I haven’t seen one exactly like it until this. Memories of guitars that went away.
Thanks Michael for another most enjoyable GOTD. Here’s some Beatles Epiphone trivia: Paul got his Casino first, before George and John. Paul’s is a ‘62, sunburst, with the short headstock and has a Bigsby tailpiece. He still uses it. It was responsible for some of the heavier guitar solos in the Beatles catalog, including “Good Morning” and “Taxman” (which Paul played lead on even though George wrote it). George and John’s Casinos are both ‘64s I believe, and they were both originally sunburst until they both scraped off the finishes changing the guitars to natural blonde. The idea was that this allowed the guitars to ‘breathe’ more. John did his first and then told George about it. John and George both used their Casinos thorough out the rest of their careers. The families retain ownership of the respective guitars. Best wishes to all from Petey the Guitarmaniax
I have a Peerless 1994 Cherry Sunburst Casino, still my main guitar over my higher end 355 & Les Paul. Also got the worn ebony version over a year ago. It’s pretty good for a budget guitar. Wish the board was rosewood instead of Indian Laurel.
@@Johnny_Doe friend of mine has a black epi 335 and I sure am surprised at how heavy it it is for a hollow body guitar... it sure sounds good acoustically or plugged in to the amp. They are building those guitars very well now days... I watch Ben Eller on youtube and always learn something watching his videos. He has a lot of videos
Michael, your amazing. Makes me want to buy new fingers...Beautiful sound and great playing. Love Jen's voice in the background. Great job both of you....
you guys should do gotd at lunchtime so there's no background noise and you could have everyone else eat their lunch like by the cars so you can greet the customers and just film the whole lunch break maybe send the camera outside if it's lit i mean maybe that's how i'd do it I love Lem's serious style don't rly even mind the background people but just in case you did

The one and only problem I have with Casinos is those unreachable frets. They can make the Casino Coupe with all the frets accessible via the neck joining the body at the 19th fret. What is stopping them making the full-size Casino the same way? The Gibson ES-330 comes in both lengths, why not the Casino?
Great playing Michael! Love your never ending repertoire of superb songs!! May i ask what the first one is called, it really sounds haunting and sends shivers down my spine. :)) Cheers
Is rubber o-ring under the toggle a Lennon inspired mod? Most don't have them. It's a pretty good idea. Some switches can be very clacky. I love Casinos! I've only owned a great playing, but kind of suspect MIK version. For some reason, when I got it home, I got curious and started exploring its innards. The neck joints was some of the ugliest, gappy woodworking you could imagine. All planing and chiseling done by a beaver. Somehow, it still worked. But I figured, improvement must be possible! I wedged maple shims into the gaps. Over 1/16". The guitar rang louder and longer. I've had even more of soft spot for them since that. The MIJ Elitist Casinos were fantastic. Reasonably priced, but just out of my range, back in the day. Beautiful demo, Lemmo! PS- Your sound, using the Pro Reverb, is really great. Clear, fat and articulate, with a nice meaty low end. Good stuff. Making the Casino sound even more wantable!
Too bad the Chinese versions never got the proper body contours on their 330/335 types... That old HPL device at at Gibson has never been duplicated... But I still love all my China Girls. That '67 is a piece of ass!
Wow. This guy can play! Beatles, unique and wonderful band!

Yes, an Epiphone Casino! Awesome! The Epiphone casino is my favorite electric guitar.
Bought one of the new Epiphone worn finish Casinos a couple of weeks ago and I'm totally in love with it.
Pretty guitar and performance. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful playing. Sounds so good. Who has ever created greater melody’s than the Beatles - so many great ones. Instantly recognizable.

Probably one of my most favorite GOTD. Thank you. That first song was hypnotic! Well done!

Great content !!! Wouldn't surprise me if Paul wrote the riff for Day Tripper on that same guitar.
John’s was a 1965 so George’s most likely is a 1965 as well as they got them at the same time.
Story, is Donavon was with them to see the Maharishi, and told John to sand them down for more sound. Mine's a goldtop, and that's ok.
It sounds incredible
Incredible
Great demo !!
The intro ticked all the boxes and the chord melody of In My Life,,,happiest i've been all week.
Oh, the guitar is Gorgeous !!
Beautiful playing, as usual
Lovely rendition of Because Lemmo.

Absolutely beautiful guitar. I really appreciate the tune with both pick ups. Beatles have never sounded better than with that bridge tone \m/
Brilliant demo!
Great song(s) selection!
Great job on Love Me Do!!

could account for delay in tone
