    Loved that reel - I never managed to master the Pendulum cast though! My Dad used to nail it and it always looked so easy until tried! Nice video!

    That's some off your better casting. You've got your timing sorted. Now do all that on the casting court. Would like to see the results.

    I really liked this one - especially as I have just got a 7HT mag myself - although primarily for fishing. I am going to do the simple mod you suggest as I am casting on 3 (anything less and it fluffs up) which is not a high range of control. It does feel almost too 'controlled'. I have a standard 7HT that just runs buts need more control from me.

      Yeah try the washer one 1st. About a 1mm thick one with a 6mm hole. You can always take it back out if you think its too fast.

    I know this is a few years old now but i recentley picked up a 7HT Mag and the centrifugal red brake blocks confuse me no end as how the hell do they do anything ! the blue drum that is spring loaded and goes into the mag area yes i got that but the 2 red brake blocks rotate at the same time as the blue drum so to me they do nothing as they dont go against anything to slow it down ! or am i missing somthing here ! i did try the added washer to speed it up a bit lol overrun a few times so i removed that, have the mag set on min and works fine for me, been using multipliers for 40 odd years so have got the hang of them now lol only used for fishing 120 yards with 5oz and bait is enough for my needs but jeez these brake blocks baffle me.

    Some great casting this time!! Do you fish at all, if not you should! What sort of distance do you think you was hitting?

    • @djrmonix
      @djrmonix  5 лет назад

      Cheers. Yes I do some fising now and then. Mostly lure fishing, and a bit of beach fishing sometimes. Hard to say distance wise could be anywhere between 230m and 250m ish. Just practicing so hard to say over sea but they felt good would like to think 240m+

    Brilliant casting, Q. I don't cast anything like you :) and only cast for fishing, would you recommend this reel for that? I have the ABU 6500, had a 7ht Daiwa but wasn't magged, and was looking at Seigler, any help appreciated

      @@djrmonix cool, what mainline do you use?

    • @djrmonix
      @djrmonix  4 года назад +1

      @Ant Johnson Sakuma Nite Crystal or as in this video Sufix Tritanium

  • @DavidTYork
    @DavidTYork 5 лет назад

    Can you explain the different colour lines?

    • @djrmonix
      @djrmonix  5 лет назад

      No reason. I tend to use red sufix tritanium for 0.35mm. But I had some yellow Sakuma 0.35mm left over so was using it up. Probably had a crackoff and fixed it and topped up with red sufix again. I will strip the reel back to the 30m backing soon and load with fresh line. I tend to do this once I end up with 2 or 3 knots in the mainline
