    Good video again Steve.
    I just picked up a 1970s 7000 . I need to pick up side plates as there are a couple of pin holes . I'm hoping to match it up with my old 946 rod.
    Keep the videos coming .

    Hi mate bit of a stupid question, but does it matter what way round the bearings go in.
    Great vid by the way.

    • @djrmonix
      @djrmonix  5 лет назад +1

      It doesnt no, but sometimes people take the dust shield off to speed bearing up a bit more. If you were to take 1 shield off you would have the open side inwards towards spool less chance dirt getting in.

    Do you think these types of bearings are useful for sea fishing or just field use???

    • @djrmonix
      @djrmonix  5 лет назад +2

      You prob could not sure how they would get on with saltwater getting in them but you could always put a tiny bit of oil in them I guess. I use this reel on field and practice casting to sea. Rather than rinse the reel after use I wipe it with a wet cloth then dry. Using hose or tap might get water behind the spool and into bearings.

    • @djrmonix
      @djrmonix  5 лет назад +2

      Standard abec 5 steels with a bit of oil probably better for fishing.

    Great video thx for sharing. A quick question if I replace the standard bearing for ceramic bearing do you think i need to change the mono mag for bigger size or should be ok ? 🙂👍

    • @djrmonix
      @djrmonix  5 лет назад +1

      Should be ok just have it screwed right in 1st cast see how it is.

      @djrmonix  5 лет назад +1

      I havent taken apart that side of the reel on the 7hts yet. I can do it on abus tho. Will have a look some stage and see how easy it is.

    What is the thickness of the line do you use on such machines? thank you

    • @djrmonix
      @djrmonix  2 года назад +1

      Depends on the weight casting. Usually on 7ht i use for 175g 0.35mm mainline and 0.80mm shockleader

    Good video! Do you know any brand to tune the 7HT in its spool cap tension or handle nut? Thanks greetings!

      @djrmonix  4 года назад +1

      Akios coloured endcaps will fit and have many colours. I think all the abu nuts fit the handle too but coloured ones hard to find.

    stupid question im a newbie to this thing i bought this reel because of watching youtube...so do i need to dismantle it every time i use it? used it on a surf fishing and after that i think it has a weird sounds on it?

    • @djrmonix
      @djrmonix  4 года назад +1

      No you dont need to dismantle every time. Just give it a wipe with a wet cloth after each use. What kind of a noise? When casting or reeling in?

    • @djrmonix
      @djrmonix  5 лет назад

      Cant really measure a startup time on blue mag as needs much higher speed to get brakes working. On my red turbo monomagged prob around 15 secs off the top of my head.
