Watching Max slowly float his fat metal ass up to that heli every time getting shot full of holes had me dyin' inside. Had me yellin' "ASSAULT BOOST, MAX! USE THE ASSAULT BOOST!" Literally the only reason this boss gives so many people trouble is because they play too defensively and try to fight him at a "safe" distance. There is no safe distance against an enemy that is pure range. Gotta be fast and gotta be close
Very true. I attempted him 4 times. Until I decided I should probably close in. I died once. And went in with a plan the next attempt and got him in no time.

@@bruhder5854 It has always been strong in AC games, but they usually leave you wide open. I've had success substituting bazookas and grenade launchers. I think you always want one big damage weapon for stagger breaks.
@@bruhder5854 Thats kinda the point though. If you read the description of the long range fcs chip it talks about how that principal gets away from the "core" philosophy.
@@bruhder5854 Late game brutally humbles melee with most bosses, leaving it only useful as a stagger punisher which obviously leaves a lot of missing damage before said stagger breaks. It's far from OP. They are also less mobile and slower than shotguns.
As a long time fan of the AC series and veteran Raven I happily welcome you to the Flock as a new Raven. Also being thrown into what is basically the first mission complete with a somewhat challenging boss fight at the end of said first mission before getting access to the proper tutorials is pretty much common with this series.
@@BobtheX Not really, Dark Soul's first major tutorial's were before the asylum demon, Demon's was before Vanguard, DS2 didn't really have any, DS3 was definitely before Gundyr, Sekiro's was before Genichiro, Bloodborne barely had any. So for modern FS the games definitely had your tutorial before the first tutorial boss. Albeit half of those were just writings on the ground, but that was all you got anyways. This is by far not common for a FS game, if it were, those training missions would of all been before the ship.
If you hold down the Missile fire button, you can lock on to multiple enemies with a single missile volley. Makes taking out groups of light targets extremely efficient. The game tried to teach you that like 3 times lol. Don't take that the wrong way.
The problem is it doesn't work with lock on mode on, which the game teaches you to use right before that so most people still have that mode on when being taught that.
@@dtox5559 Oh my bad. I just had to double check but yeah I guess the real problem there is you can't be holding the button before you lock onto them otherwise it doesn't multilock
@@ViJt-oq5nq Not sure how helpful this will be, BUT--! When you have the crosshair over an enemy and your aim focuses on them, you might have noticed a yellow "quarter-circle" shape over your crosshair. The quarter-circle starts at 12 o'clock and stops at 3 o'clock. That's how you know your missiles are locked onto the enemy and will make an effort to track them. If your missiles can multi-lock: when there are multiple enemies in view, hold down the button for your respective missile launcher(RB/LB; R1/L1; etc). After holding the button for about a second you might notice that yellow quarter-circle appearing on multiple other enemies. If your missile pod launches 4 at a time, only 4 targets should have that quarter-circle. If 8, then up to 8 targets, and so on. When you release the button while they're visible, the individual missiles should fly to multiple targets. You need to make sure to hold the lock when you fire. i.e. Keep your targets in view the whole time, at least until just after the moment you release the fire button. Otherwise, you'll either hit only one target or fire the missiles straight in front of you. Obviously, relative positioning can also determine whether your missiles hit. A sudden wall in the way or an awkward angle will absolutely stop a missile from hitting the enemy reliably. Hope that helps! If not, I can try to find another way to explain it. :)
I think he skimmed over the tutorials... he would also be doing more damage if he shoots his rifle while boosting and then follow up with the sword but instead he just flies and wait for it.
So many people just, don't engage with the information given to them, and they suffer for it. Fromsoft bothered to explain it to you, they're not gonna pull punches because you didn't pay attention. They're not that kind of developer.
@@Sorain1 Yep. It's funny because this exact same thing happened in FF7R, where he basically skipped over many of the tutorials or brute forced is way through things making it much harder on himself, but that game was a lot more forgiving. But it's just how he is, it's frustrating at time but at the same time the things he does notice and point out are things that other miss, so there's always benefit to watching Max play something.
@@VideoStalker00 also wasting energy trying to close up instead of boosting on the ground and then ABing once he closes down, but tbf I took around the same time he did until I was decent enough with the basic gameplay.
Someone in his chat needs to tell him that if he presses the button associated with "Help" he will be able to select "Contextual Help" which will explain in simpler terms what each thing means while in the garage. Also that while in AC Testing he can switch things on the fly instead of going back to the garage each time.
I think the main issue people are having with difficulty is they're trying to play the game as a human, when you actually need to be a biologically augmented neurally-interlinked cyborg mech dude
Yeah. Tbh people just need to be invested enough to get cybernetic implant irl to ensure they get no cognitive dissonance. Really helps with reaction time too. High recommended!
Find it really funny that Max thinks the camera is the hardest part when thanks to the Hard Lock-on it's never been easier to handle the camera in an AC game. You just press R3 once and don't touch the right stick again and it'll pretty much stay stuck to just about everything
Its sad to see Max making the same mistakes as DSP. Only reading the first part of the tutorial or skipping it entirely if he already discovered the function by pressing buttons; which then leads to him not understanding the mechanics and complaining. Then theres all the ammo waste. Using both missile pods to take out a generator when youre complaining about how much ammo its taking to kill that one AC is the kind of stuff that belongs in a "how not to play AC6" video
He didn't understand that lock on is a mode and not a "click to lock on" system. So the first boss would fly over his head, breaking his lock, and then he would hit the button to try to lock on again, which would turn off lock-on mode. Then he would spend minutes fighting without being locked on. This is what he meant by "wrangling the controls."
@@CobaltiosTo be fair, I only learned the same lesson 20 hours in. It was tough deprogramming 26 years of keeping the enemy on screen to get the lock on.
It really comes down to effective use of Assault boost. Bosses don't take well to being quick boosted up to or just lazy boosted up to. Overboost has been a thing for a long time. It just now became an effective thing
Yeah for me it was trying to get up close and strike it with melee and then use cover. I'm telling you, using cover helped alot (as usual in shooting games). When I need to make a quick reload I get behind cover. Those missiles do go out a bit but it was best for me to just go "Ring Around the Rosie" while the helicopter shoots those missiles
Welcome in, Max! There are some learning curves even for vets, but I'm thrilled to see you playing AC after following your fighting game content for years. Cheers!
fun fact, if you turn the camera sensitivity up, your hard lock-on keeps better track of the target with camera sensitivity at 10, you almost never have to touch the camera during a boss fight, no matter how fast they are definitely adds a bit to the "gonna throw up" though, since your camera is zipping around like a fucking crackhead
"When I move my camera, I lose my lock" yes, max, that's how cameras work :3c When you're locked onto your target, you shouldn't be moving your camera unless your target breaks sight or you WANT to look away. You also don't need to keep turning your lock-on back on, it stays on once activated, you keep turning it back off.
@iiisixstringiii8285 Once you press lock on, it stays on permanently until you unlock it. I usually turn it in at the start of a mission and leave it on You can tell it’s on by looking at 4 curved lines on the outer edges of your hud
Hard-locking helps you track enemies better. But soft-locking actually makes your targeting reticle more accurate. Something to keep in mind, fellow ravens.
@@theinternetsightseer2935I just really like melee in this game so I played through the whole thing with all different kinds of melee weapons equipped depending on the situation. I tried tank with mini guns and rocket launchers and it was cool but just not nearly as fun and engaging as melee so I stuck with that mostly. And it was fantastic. So much fun
AC is all about customizing, sure, but it's also about individual expression as the player are free to create the build best suited to their playstyle. You don't have to stick with one build, but it's part of the game to play the ones you like, no matter if it's only one or many.
I do think these early hours are very rough. Seems too easy with some random bosses that offer some challenge, but make you learn things that you won't use for a long time due to missions being so easy and mindless. This wouldn't be an issue if the debt system was still present and the ammo and repair costs were higher, but they're quite small, so.. I do like the game, though. I just feel like this isn't the big come back yet. I think FromSoft might make an expansion that really goes far, or a sequel. Because if this is it, then I'm pretty disappointed; NG+ and Bosses aside.

3:45:26 Max dumping an entire 10 vertical missile volley into a single MT (without a full lock-on) and then plowing it with a grenade launcher before the missiles even start to descend.
Speaking as a freshly new Raven, I imagine at least a few of us have done that at least once before realizing it and learning. On the other hand, depending on the level, I like to imagine such a use of ammo could be described as “damn that target in particular” lol

I hate that he thought ok I'm gonna play a armored core game and then stay still, not shoot your guns and thinks he has to hold the missile button to lock on which you don't. Watching him play the first level is infuriating
Not gonna lie, after watching for about an hour and a half, Max not understanding how multi lock works even after playing the training mission that shows how it works… kinda driving a lad mad. Lol. He sure can be oblivious sometimes. I’m sure he figures it out eventually
It's really interesting seeing the expectations of everyone who's never watched max play a game with lots of control nuances for the first time not knowing what to expect
max you can actually explore for items on certain missions. i dont want to spoil what items there are but you can use your scanning feature to find hidden chests.
I had never played an AC game up to this one. I have however played and beat all the souls titles, some multiple times. This may just be my favorite Fromsoft title they have put out. My god it’s spectacular. The Chapter 1 end boss, really hit home for me just how special this game is.
@@BobaVettI'd say AC 4 and 4 Answer (4A) will be the most natural games to transition to after 6. Both 4 and 4A have the most fast paced gameplay of the series, followed by 6. Games from the AC 1 to 3 era have more dated controls that make them less fluid to play, and 5/Verdict Day were just intentionally made slower paced and feel like black sheep of the series. It would be better to play the games from the 4 era before 5 to catch references too. I know, completely unasked for input, just excited to have seen someone wanting to play these games!
I also wish there was a quick fall in air. Turning boosters On/Off was handled very strangely in this game. There's a button dedicated to boosters yet you can't kill them off midair and they turn off all the time without your input. Wish we had a real on/off button for boosters.
For anyone looking for some fun up close and personal combat tricks. Try using the ability to equip an arm weapon on your back slot, for a second melee weapon. They don't quite true combo, but you can make some nasty close range combos with a dual melee setup.
You can do some cool stuff with this setup though! If you quick boost after using an attack to cancel the recovery you can switch to the secondary during the boost and attack again. It's fun as hell.
@@RedGalbotYep, definitely my favorite thing right now. Tough to actually catch a good player in pvp with it, but not impossible. Missions it's just good times slicing things up.
Remember kids, when you’re using target assist, just don’t fuckin’ touch the right stick or you’ll break the lock. Max still hasn’t got it yet. Edit: I was hasty, he seems to have gotten it. Although it’s odd that he doesn’t seem to understand that sometimes you want to lock on and circle, and sometimes you want to unlock and assault boost for positioning. It’s not that different from how to best use lock on in a souls game; it’s a sometimes mechanic, and knowing when and how to use it is the mark of a good player. You don’t have to “wrestle the camera,” you just can’t fat finger the right stick trying to instinctually and unnecessarily reposition the camera when you’re using target assist, as max was doing for most of those gunship fights.
Nice, glad to see you enjoying the game early on. I truly hope it clicks, this is the game turned down to 3; can't wait to see your reaction once it's cranked up to 11!
I played the first 3-6 hours of this game. I defeated The Juggernaut boss fight in the first try. I know it's not the hardest or the best boss in the game. But I felt so accomplished for my very first Armored Core and FormSoftware game!
Armored Core is what I’ve always imagined playing a Gundam game should be. Seeing Max play and enjoy the game - and knowing others will also try Armored Core as a result - makes me happy for the mecha genre. We’re gonna be going places. 🥁
I feel a lot better about my AC6 skills after seeing Max struggle with the first boss. It only took me 4 tries to realize assault boost and melee was the key to victory. The boss also struggles to hit you if you hang out underneath it as much as possible.
I've been so busy playing it myself but I'm pretty far now, so this upload came at the perfect time. Game is ridiculously fun and challenhing! Actually in love with the customization depth and the designs and the environments and...just all of it.
As a new comer to the armored core series, the pca heli kicked my ass… and I loved it! From software really knows how to nail the feeling of being the main character, wether that be as a lone knight fighting against entropy, or a mercenary fighting tooth and nail for your paycheck, I’d kill to go back to the beginning, really earn the title of Raven
I wish it was possible to change hud elements. I want my targeting reticle to be thicker and more solid so I can keep track of overheating weapons while the thing is flying all over the screen.
I want everything to be on one corner. To have to watch the whole bottom screen and bosses throwing shit everywhere at the same time is killing me lol. Watching ammo, energy and healthy and missiles, bullets, etc, is crazy. I had to start counting how many shots until reload and seconds until reload to quit looking over there.
I died like 20 times on that damn heavy attack chopper, i thought it was the tutorial boss until i realized you could dash and melee combo him into submission, fantastic experience so far. 👍🏿👍🏿
One of the biggest things to learn is not to move the right stick when you hard lock because it will cancel the lock. The camera will follow the enemy so luckily we don't have to worry about it.
Ahhhh so that’s why it seemed like it never worked for me, I instinctively move the camera anyways and it always unlocks and I thought my shit was just broken 😂 this make sense
This shit stress me out 😂, max missing out on important info for different builds and just looking at the button prompts sayint "yea i figured that out already" 😂, i dont even think he knows that the grasshopper legs are not only fast but can hop around
There is hidden loot over certain missions, such as weapons, AC parts, generators, and more as well as hidden fights to collect logs to collect even more parts, just need to explore all over every mission you replay
it's gotta be some reverse campaign to either watch him be terrible at the game or never watch him again. How tf this dude got subs at all@@MrPhilipIrving1
There is no ‘lock on’ it is a target assist mode. You toggle it on or off. With it on the targeting reticle will soft lock onto a target but will lose lock if you move the stick or the enemy moves rapidly out of view. The compromise however is that your aim is actually worse with target assist on and less of your shots will land. Armoured core never used to have a target assist; but it was introduced into this game to make it more accessible. However it is actually better to learn to play with it off as more of your shots will land. This is the compromise! The game rewards more skilful players who play with target assist turned off. When Max was mashing R3 he was constantly turning the mode on and off rather than locking on and off.
To combat the slow turning camera on console, I turned the camera sensitivity to 10 in the controller settings. It takes a bit to get used to but once you do, you can get mouse and keyboard levels of camera turning control. Doing so allows you to keep agile ACs in your sights more often and do pseudo-quick turns on controller for more reaction time in combat.
First thing I did basically. Getting used to high sensitivity makes you way better at games generally. Basically never used quick turn though. Could do, but haven't needed to. Still unlocked it for fully controllability though.
You have to get used to the idea, that once you're "Hard locked", you don't have to move the camera (right stick) at all keep the target in front of you. You literally have to let go of the right stick to keep the lock, and only use the left stick to maneuver and change the direction of you AC by using quick boosts, while managing your stamina by either staying on the ground to recover your stamina and keeping up in the air to get close to the target. If you're wanting to get back down quicker, remember...you can also stand on the walls or buildings to minimize the distance of you setting your AC down to recover stamina. Also remember, that boosting on the ground does not use stamina.
Right, but if you can't see your target, then what are you aiming at? Plus, his issue was maneuverability while keeping track of his target. 50% of something, is better than 100% of nothing.
It’s always good to see that Max’s game sense is just a cut above most people. Although, about the helicopter fight, you could have cycled better, you started the fight well pretty much each time, but instead of staggering with the guns to get massive melee, you were filling the meter all the way with your melee’s which only left you with the lower damage guns. The high stagger damage on melee may seem good for filling up the bar, but thats only true for the first 3/4 of the bar(imo) filling the remaining 1/4 with your guns allows you time to set up, since you can watch the boss’s movement pattern and stagger your shots to fill up the bar till the perfect moment. After its staggered, you can assault boost in, melee twice, and bam it loses a fullon chunk of health.
It's also my GotY too but I don't think it'll win at the Game Awards. It's the only game I've played all year where I haven't had a single complaint the whole way. Granted I'm in chapter 5 so almost finished my first playthrough, and maybe the end game suddenly gets awful, but I've seen no other comments or reviews that suggest this, so we'll see. For this year, Fire Emblem's characters were meh and the story was the worst one yet, Octopath 2's story was still really bland and failed to motivate me to not get bored during all the dialogue, TotK really did feel like $70 DLC to me, FFXVI's story took an absolute nosedive in the last 4th and I stopped caring completely, and Diablo 4, while I actually loved the campaign, did start to feel too grindy past level 60. I think GotY is a really hard category to judge now ever since Elden Ring because it was just so lightyears ahead of every single other game that now that's what I'm looking for this year, and the reality is that that's just not guaranteed to happen every year. I'm not that interested in Baldur's Gate, Spiderman, or Starfield, so AC6 was really the last big release of the year for me and so far it has been the most consistently entertaining with zero downsides.
got past chapter 2 somehow and boy is this game a massive treat. I made 3 Builds (also made 3 other "TEST" Builds) so far which 2 are an attempt to re-create Heavy GUNDAM (a base version then a "Revised" version) from the GUNDAM Franchise. I did share one of those said "GUNDAM" BUILDS if anyone was curious. So far it is really good in AC vs AC combat and can kill Juggernaut and Sweeper with a retake or 2 depending on what you do
I had not played an Armored Core since AC 2 and I thought the negative reaction to the aim assist was bizarre, but I'm with the purists now. The need to move your camera and keep it aimed at your target is part of what makes you being the pilot of the mech feel legitimate. Feeling that sense of confusion in the midst of combat when the enemy AC outmaneuvers you and you lose them is something you don't get when the game just stays locked on the entire time and it adds to the intensity. When you consider that the stupid aim assist actually messes up your aim for a lot of weapons and makes lock on less accurate, yeah, I think I'm good without it. 🤣
What I wish you could do with the camera is move it while lock on, it rubber bands back after moving it and I click it again to unlock on. That way I can assault boost at different angles and see more while still easily being to unlock as needed. Way too much relocking while moving. That being said it still feels good enough. It's still a great feeling game and the camera is playable. I think I will try to game on keyboard, I have a feeling keyboard is the way.
I’m not that far in the video max but you don’t have to hold for missile lock that is only for multi locks just click. Also for lock on it is a mode so you don’t have to keep clicking in r3 to keep locking on you click it once then you stay in lock on mode just track the opponent again. You only click on r3 again to remove the lock on mode if you want to follow the enemy yourself without the lock on assist playing without lock on mode is more beneficial imo but it is hard as you have to use the right stick more often to keep the target on screen.
such a fun game. I was struggling at parts but I have a few varied builds now that can approach each situation, it's a blast. Looking forward to getting into PvP, and I really hope they do a big expansion or DLC!
Took me ages to beat the Helicopter boss when I first started playing; it was the first time I'd ever played an AC game at all, so even after the tutorial I had little idea what I was actually doing. Still, it's become a favorite game of mine since, I love all the customization options.
Im only an hour in, but please tell me Max realizes at some point that he's not going to get through this game without reading some shit? Also, it was funny to see him have the same skill issue the rest of us new to the series folks had on the heli boss, but blame camera 😂
Newbie here and I 1 tried the helicopter. 😁 His movements are all over the place and he isn't reading stuff. That's what makes newbies die so much. It takes less skill than people think, it's just about good timing and not flinging your AC around uselessly. 😂 I feel like he could use, say.. not playing on what I think is a stick?? An elite controller makes this game play like butter. No Claw method necessary. I can keep my thumbs on the camera and movement at all times. Super useful in a tight spot where you otherwise have to sacrifice one or the other to keep up.
This game so far has been pretty epic, I am in the middle of Chapter 3. First time playing an Armored Core game. 10:11 another mech game friends of mine and I have been hooked on is Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries. It really feels like you are piloting a proper MECH. Not just a robot. Very different style game then this. Still, FromSoftware is proving they are simply masters at what they do, and its awesome to see! (don't know if he figured this out later, still watching the video, but you DON'T have to hold the missile launcher buttons to lock on, you only hold the button if you want to lock onto multiple targets at once. the yellow quarter circle around the target indicates your weapon is locked on.)
I want to talk sbout several things about this game: - AC6 has a lot of replay value due to the decisions made throughout the campaign (that includes multiple endings), as well as the unlockables of New Game + and beyond! - For all newcomer Ravens, you DO NOT need to have played the previous AC games to get into this one, very similar on how Final Fantasy dev teams create its titles. - Plays different from Souls - same smooth, responsive controls. - Long range arsenal: bazookas, gatling guns, split missiles, plasma rifles and more. - Melee weaponry: Cluster bomb thrower, chainsaw, pulse blade, lances and more. - The movement speed is between AC3 and AC5 - There is a heavy on customization. - Tons of custom paint jobs and the posibility of downloading weapons for making decals. - Legs are one of the most important parts of your mech, because they determine how much weight your vehicle can carry. - Your power engine / energy source is on other one as it modifies the amount of energy available, as well as how slow or fast your energy bar will recharge, when its depleted.
Seeing his piloting get smoother on every retry is nice, you can see that he's learning how to have a gameplan while fighting.

Feels like a game I've been waiting for all my life.
FromSoft after developing Elden Ring: "Ok, it's time to wake the dog up..."
For anyone struggling with the helicopter boss, just get in his face and mess him up with your sword. He dominates at long range combat so close the gap.
Melee in general seems a bit op in this game weirdly. Like a bit too op
They are also less mobile and slower than shotguns.
also just avoid from most of the heli attacks by hiding behind those buildings
As a long time fan of the AC series and veteran Raven I happily welcome you to the Flock as a new Raven. Also being thrown into what is basically the first mission complete with a somewhat challenging boss fight at the end of said first mission before getting access to the proper tutorials is pretty much common with this series.
Yep pretty much. Lol
Everybody is welcome in the AC community!
It's common with every single Fromsoft game, don't know why he was bitching about it in this instance.
Dude this is my first ac game alongside the fact that I love mechs I love this game! already going through a second play through
"I'm playing with a Steel Battalion Stick right now"
Give it time, they'll find a way to add support for that
If you hold down the Missile fire button, you can lock on to multiple enemies with a single missile volley. Makes taking out groups of light targets extremely efficient. The game tried to teach you that like 3 times lol. Don't take that the wrong way.
The problem is it doesn't work with lock on mode on, which the game teaches you to use right before that so most people still have that mode on when being taught that.
No? You multi-lock onto everything within view even if hard-lock is toggled on.
@@dtox5559 Oh my bad. I just had to double check but yeah I guess the real problem there is you can't be holding the button before you lock onto them otherwise it doesn't multilock
Dude, I'm at the start of CH4 and still not sure how multilock is supposed to work lol.
I'll probably have to try these tips in the test area.
I was screaming at max to use the damn hard lock on during the first boss fight. He made that so much harder then it had to be.
Or just do the tutorial and read the tips how to play..
Max not understanding the lock on system is killing me.
there's a lot going on, eventually it becomes second nature but it can be mentally taxing at first
Him not understanding the concept behind "lock-on" is weird to me. I have NEVER had to move the right analog stick while locked onto something.
He will get it later, no sweat.
@@CobaltiosTo be fair, I only learned the same lesson 20 hours in. It was tough deprogramming 26 years of keeping the enemy on screen to get the lock on.
Seeing Max struggle with the tutorial boss makes me feel better about my struggle with said boss. Once you know how to do it though it's a cakewalk.
Once you figure out what needs to be done, it's just a matter of executing on it, closing the gap, and finishing it.
Reads multi-lock tutorial, promptly falls into a damn hole and completely forgets about the multi-lock till later. lol
Welcome in, Max! There are some learning curves even for vets, but I'm thrilled to see you playing AC after following your fighting game content for years. Cheers!
fun fact, if you turn the camera sensitivity up, your hard lock-on keeps better track of the target
with camera sensitivity at 10, you almost never have to touch the camera during a boss fight, no matter how fast they are
definitely adds a bit to the "gonna throw up" though, since your camera is zipping around like a fucking crackhead
Welcome to the AC Raven squad, Maximilian. As a fellow newbie as well, I can tell you, YOURE IN FOR A WHILE RIDE!! I’m loving this game too much….. 😅
Wild 😮 POGGERS
Welcome to the AC community!
His Callsign should be Thermidore. Iykyk
I'm glad Max was struggling like I was yesterday in AC6. It goes to show that even some others have to deal with the same struggle you had to face.
"When I move my camera, I lose my lock" yes, max, that's how cameras work :3c
When you're locked onto your target, you shouldn't be moving your camera unless your target breaks sight or you WANT to look away. You also don't need to keep turning your lock-on back on, it stays on once activated, you keep turning it back off.
Yeah I saw him turning it on and off over and over. It explains why half his shots were missing
@iiisixstringiii8285 That's exactly right. It's just a toggle between locking on modes. :)
@iiisixstringiii8285 Once you press lock on, it stays on permanently until you unlock it. I usually turn it in at the start of a mission and leave it on
You can tell it’s on by looking at 4 curved lines on the outer edges of your hud
that's exatly right! lock stays on @iiisixstringiii8285
Hard-locking helps you track enemies better.
But soft-locking actually makes your targeting reticle more accurate.
Something to keep in mind, fellow ravens.
I love how Max is actually experimenting different stuff for his mech instead of picking a 'build". That's what AC is all about
I disagree.
they've made testing such a breeze now, it's great
@@8minatoYou're free to do so, but you're also going to be wrong.
Man I can't wait to see Max's reaction to some of the later bosses. There are some seriously hype moments.
Makes me very happy to see people playing AC. I grew up with the PS1 games and it was probably my most played games on that console.
As someone who has beaten the whole game and obtained just about everything, it's hard. Especially the ng++ exclusive final boss.
Dang. Is this game really that short? Like you already 100% it?
@@momsspaghetti4064 lol. It's not short. I've just been no-lifing it.
@@theblobconsumes4859 this is not a popular opinion bro.
@@momsspaghetti4064 if you're good at the game it'll take you about 50-60 hours to 100% it. but thats if you get first try S ranks and other unreasonable stuff like that. but it's just not like elden ring where the point is having content that feels endless. its more like playing dmc5 where it's short and sweet, only exists to be stylish and test your skills, and is replayable as hell. you can easily get tons more hours of enjoyment out of it with pvp after you 100% as well.

Max dumping an entire 10 vertical missile volley into a single MT (without a full lock-on) and then plowing it with a grenade launcher before the missiles even start to descend.
Speaking as a freshly new Raven, I imagine at least a few of us have done that at least once before realizing it and learning.
On the other hand, depending on the level, I like to imagine such a use of ammo could be described as “damn that target in particular” lol

People I can not stress this enough...PLEASE USE YOUR ASSULT BOOST IT IS NOT JUST A FANCY DASH! I promise it will help(:
Thank you for making me feel better about my skill at this game. I thought I was just horrible but I beat that first boss at the end of the mission in 3 tries so I feel better now 😅 it's so fun to watch you improve drastically with every attempt.
I played armored core 3-5. This one is so sick.
Armored Core Last Raven is dope
I hate that he thought ok I'm gonna play a armored core game and then stay still, not shoot your guns and thinks he has to hold the missile button to lock on which you don't. Watching him play the first level is infuriating
Not gonna lie, after watching for about an hour and a half, Max not understanding how multi lock works even after playing the training mission that shows how it works… kinda driving a lad mad. Lol. He sure can be oblivious sometimes. I’m sure he figures it out eventually
Max skipping the important tutorial texts infuriates me.

It's really interesting seeing the expectations of everyone who's never watched max play a game with lots of control nuances for the first time not knowing what to expect
Exactly, bro. Like let the man play the game and figure it out on his own.
max you can actually explore for items on certain missions. i dont want to spoil what items there are but you can use your scanning feature to find hidden chests.
I had never played an AC game up to this one. I have however played and beat all the souls titles, some multiple times. This may just be my favorite Fromsoft title they have put out. My god it’s spectacular. The Chapter 1 end boss, really hit home for me just how special this game is.
Welcome to the community!
@@fernandozavaletabustos205 looks like it’s time to go back into the past and play the series after I conquer this one!
Sure, take your time!@@BobaVett
Yeah, I'm still pretty early into the game but I feel like I really want a quick fall or even a boost stomp to get back to the ground quicker
quick fall is the one thing I really wanted, being otherwise so mobile but having this sad little float down suuuuuuuuuucks
Pulling back on the left stick or pressing the Jump button kills assault boost
@@saintfayde4438 They're not talking about Assault Boost, they're talking about normal boost. The one that gets activated with the Circle button.
When you stop moving you fall straight down faster than if you're moving.
Whoever made max’s intro deserves a god damn medal lol
There are things to explore... when you unlock the "hunt logs". And there are "hidden files" from fallen mechs. Features unlock as you progress.
This game looks sick
I played the first 3-6 hours of this game. I defeated The Juggernaut boss fight in the first try. I know it's not the hardest or the best boss in the game. But I felt so accomplished for my very first Armored Core and FormSoftware game!
I got him first try too, but JUST BARELY! I’m now dreading what the rest of the game will be like.
Cherish it my friend, you did better than a lot of people on their first attempt.
Wish you good luck against the first chapter boss.
Just defeated Balteus. Man that boss is no joke. I had to assemble my mech like almost every time I died.
@@voltaicthief646 Also just beat Balteus last night. Damn thing was a pain. I had to customize so much to find something that worked for me
Armored Core is what I’ve always imagined playing a Gundam game should be.

I don't know if Max played any previous Armored Core games, but he has my respect for steadily learning the ropes here.
Watching streamers think this game uses elden ring lock-on, and not understanding that hard-lock is a toggled mode, is so painful.

It is the tutorial boss......
Ah. 😑🧐 Just heard him reject the detailed stats page. Was about to ask when or if he started using them.

There is hidden loot over certain missions, such as weapons, AC parts, generators, and more as well as hidden fights to collect logs to collect even more parts, just need to explore all over every mission you replay

11:28 also stick instead of controller. The triggers are attached to right stick
U can get quick turn with os chips aswell
First thing I did basically. Getting used to high sensitivity makes you way better at games generally.
Basically never used quick turn though. Could do, but haven't needed to. Still unlocked it for fully controllability though.
Can't wait to see Max fight the shielded missle spamming hula hoop 😂
Lol
This video deserves more views!
Yes, but by not using the hard lock on, your shots land better, you get better accuracy.
Right, but if you can't see your target, then what are you aiming at? Plus, his issue was maneuverability while keeping track of his target. 50% of something, is better than 100% of nothing.
Max channeling his inner Char
Just wait till he unlocks the kick lol
I like how this game makes you feel like a dark souls boss
I need this wall struggle to cope with my balteus struggle
The mechs looks really cool , and when things explode is fantastic , so far Game of the year
You really think it will win goty? Or is it just your goty? I personally don't think it will win goty imo.
Goty?! You're a joker
@eyomacdonald8717 its amazing but it has some touch competition I'll admit
@@eyomacdonald8717it is game of the year and deserves it
It's also my GotY too but I don't think it'll win at the Game Awards.
So far it is really good in AC vs AC combat and can kill Juggernaut and Sweeper with a retake or 2 depending on what you do
That definitely says "Attitude Stability"
Much love max ❤
Of course the moment he starts sucking he blames the controls.
So funny watching this, I streamed earlier today and I really struggled for an hour! Still didn't beat him
What I wish you could do with the camera is move it while lock on, it rubber bands back after moving it and I click it again to unlock on. That way I can assault boost at different angles and see more while still easily being to unlock as needed. Way too much relocking while moving.
That being said it still feels good enough. It's still a great feeling game and the camera is playable. I think I will try to game on keyboard, I have a feeling keyboard is the way.
Pro tip. Press hard lock and then NEVER TOUCH THE RIGHT ANALOG STICK AGAIN😂 The camera will move itself to your target
Try and stick with it Max, this series is one of my favourites for a reason. The controls and mechanics will eventually stick.

I appreciate that Max's color options went from Temjin to the Crimson Lightning. I would say Red Comet but methinks it's more Crimson than red.
Just got to the part where he says the first fight feels "almost bugged out"..nope. it's ok to say you didn't know what the hell you were doing😂
Newbie here and I 1 tried the helicopter. 😁
His movements are all over the place and he isn't reading stuff. That's what makes newbies die so much.
It takes less skill than people think, it's just about good timing and not flinging your AC around uselessly. 😂
I feel like he could use, say.. not playing on what I think is a stick?? An elite controller makes this game play like butter. No Claw method necessary. I can keep my thumbs on the camera and movement at all times. Super useful in a tight spot where you otherwise have to sacrifice one or the other to keep up.
FROM SOFTWARE remind us once more they make good games
Miles + Armor Core or Gundam = MECHA MAX :P
it was extremely painful watching him fail against that bonus fight near the end lol
(don't know if he figured this out later, still watching the video, but you DON'T have to hold the missile launcher buttons to lock on, you only hold the button if you want to lock onto multiple targets at once. the yellow quarter circle around the target indicates your weapon is locked on.)
not being in chat at the time to say something like "wait for reticle to turn red before shooting missles" is funny lol
Itsss Timmme!!!! The armored core walkthrough is finally here baby!
I want to talk sbout several things about this game:
- AC6 has a lot of replay value due to the decisions made throughout the campaign (that includes multiple endings), as well as the unlockables of New Game + and beyond!
- The movement speed is between AC3 and AC5
- There is a heavy on customization.
