Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women worldwide. 40% of women undergo a mastectomy for their cancer treatment and only 20% of women on average will have access to reconstruction. Indeed, current reconstruction techniques are not satisfactory, on the one hand we have silicone implants that are permanent and risky and on the other hand we have autologous techniques that are either complicated, costly or iterative, up to 8 surgeries for breast reconstruction.
Our answer is the MATTISSE bioprosthesis, a resorbable Tissue Engineering Chamber that allows a reconstruction more:
-Natural, thanks to the regeneration of autologous breast fat tissue
-Simple and unique, the implant is completely resorbed from the body in a single one-hour surgery
-Closer to the lost self-image, thanks to 3D printing, we are able to make implants adapted to the morphology.
-Once implanter, the device regenerates the autologous fat tissue in only 6 months. The implant is resorbed after 18 months.
