Has anyone else noticed how Charlotte uses more curb in competition than in practice? I noticed it first after I watched her practice with Valegro in a video. I wonder if she gets nervous. In this video, she's barely using the curb at all, but I get the feeling Florentina is still getting held a bit shorter than normal. Don't get me wrong, she's my hero. I'm going to go to Grand Prix because if she could do it, so can I.
Gosh Florentina is barely recognisable she's improved so much, so much more uphill and suspended in the trot, lovely to see her carrying herself so nicely. For me she is still shooting off flat in the extended trot, though. I dunno maybe its the angle Im seeing it but she doesn't seem to carry herself forward off the hinds so well. Sort of running off rather than coming back off a half halt and extending, opening up her shoulder and pushing upwards from behind like a dream. Too fast not enough floaty. Im going to do a quick search I'm so excited to see if there's some stuff from 2019 because I just know she can do it, you can see she can just in her fantastic trot work. Coming in around the arena she looked utterly remarkable, I was quite jealous it wasn't me sitting there.
Come on !! Florentina has a long way ahead to improve. It takes years. Are you expecting Charlotte to show a perfect performance before the horse is ready.
The horse is obviously very well cared for and happy with her job, she's not suffering just because she is taking part in an equine sport. Plus the rider is one I've seen that has lovely teamwork with the horses she rides and is never on the horses mouth.
She is a goddess!!! Lovely, sweet horse, too! Thank you for the inspiration.
Nice filming!!! Thank you.
Thank you; Florentina is one of my favourites

Not sure but well observed
She once said in an interview that they always train with a normal snaffle at home but that they have to use a curb during competitions

When a horse is a tool of someones fame the horse suffers!! :(
That’s one way of looking at it; or it could be the horse lives the life of a Equine Superstar?
harveywetdog it's more like......the horse has to!!
That isn’t the same as suffering
harveywetdog it is suffering cuz you're the owner. Don't justify bad for the good.
