Well maybe, but what I've seen here is that the strength just becomes greater if Louis is behind you. Doing campus catches certainly isn't something that relies much on body position. You need precision and strength to catch a hold while loosing your feet completely.
@@Fallenangel_85maybe sometimes, but more often than not you also need to know how to transfer the energy of a campus move through your body. Just throwing to something without thinking about how your body is going to move while doing it can make the difficulty of such a move dramatically harder than it needs to be.
I loved it! How has Hannah improved so quickly!!? I loved that she stopped being so scared and took risks, let’s hope she can carry this forward with her climbing. Louis’s use of questions is excellent 👌 I love the chemistry between these two, they are both quiet complex character that bounce of each other. I think Louis’s teaching and attention to detail really suits hannah!
That guy, Louis, is a really good teacher. I used to teach skiing, and I know the difference between being able to do a thing, and being able to break it down and teach it to someone else. I only started watching climbing as of the Olympics. I've known a few climbers over the years, but that was the first comp I ever watched. I came away from that as a fan of the sport, and a big Brooke Raboutou fan. I've gone back and watched a lot of her previous comp videos since then. I was so proud of myself for actually getting the reference when he said, "Do a Brooke Raboutou special, and stand in a bolt hole." I did have to rewind about three times to be sure that is actually what he said though, as his accent really had fun with her name. I like your videos Hannah. Watching you learn is really helping to make the sport more accessible to a new fan like me. I'm 57, and over 300 lbs; I'm not likely to take up climbing in any serious way, but I'm learning a lot along with you and it makes the comps easier to understand and enjoy. You have a great attitude toward learning, and that matters so much. If you read this far, I'll share something with you that I taught to every class I ever had. I'd always ask, "When you look around the mountain, how do you know who the best skier on the hill is?" I got lots of answers like "They never fall," or, "Their turns are so pretty," or, "They go so fast," and worst of all, "Because they have all the cool clothes and gear." No, no, no, and oh hell no! The correct answer is: Every day on the mountain, there is one person who has more fun, makes more memories, laughs harder, and takes more joy out of their day than anybody else. That person wins, they are the best skier on the hill (or climber in the gym) that day. Some days it is that soul skier out ripping the pretty turns, some days it's a ten year old girl, on her first day, who realizes, "I CAN do this, and... I'm better at it than my brother!"

@@tahoemike5828 Cool, thanks for answering! Still time to start 😁 I can tell that getting hooked to climbing supports getting fitter too, as it's one of those sports that doesn't really feel like exercise (although it definitely is a brilliant workout too!) I've never enjoyed most sports, but in climbing I'm not concentrating on how I feel, or how well I do compared to others, it's all about pushing your own limits and learning to do the moves better and better to finally send whatever you're projecting. very interesting video! love the format of analysing the climb before trying and then after each and every attempt, it's super relatable but fascinating to see the added depth and nuance in smaller movements and body positions you and Louis discuss. Having these sorts of conversations at gyms where you and a bunch of others keep trying the same route and failing, but making interesting observations about technique as you go, slowly building up your collective knowledge of the route until one of you finally does it is honestly the funnest and most rewarding experiences i've had in bouldering gyms. One small tip/criticism i think would make this even better: when you guys are discussing the route before you've made any attempts,i think it would be better to have the camera filming the wall as you talk, rather than yourselves, so we can follow your train of thought as you speak. It's pretty fun to pause these sorts of videos, read the route yourself, then press play and see how similar your take is with the climbers. Happy climbing!

Brilliant coach man, wow. Insanely engaging, and from one video to another, this has got to be one of the most informative videos on mindset when climbing. I’ve always had commitment when it comes to trying a move in BJJ, but when it came to climbing for some odd reason my commitment levels for dynamic movements weren’t as confident as I’d hoped. From this video I feel as if I have a new way of approaching this scary-ish moves like I did BJJ.
What a thoughtful training session. I usually just repeat boulders until they annoy me or I stick them but mostly without much thought in between attempts. Really cool, thanks for sharing Plus, they seem to have a lovely taste of music at Yonder. I spotted some Chili Peppers and Led Zeppelin in the background. Amazing gym!
Glad you enjoyed it! The music was spot on. I usually just stick with boulders until I can't try anymore too, usually falling off the exact same move until I get tired haha
Great video, I learned loads just from watching and Luis looks like such a good coach and overall human! Your videos are a joy, especially on rest days when im trying to get through my day without caving in and going to the gym, you help me get my dose of bouldering dopamine!
Tough but fair are the best teachers. Really enjoyed this one because if you just commit to something like this you gain so much forward momentum off the teacher.
This was so useful and fun to watch, thank you! Also, it seems like you've been getting much stronger and more confident lately, that's great to see! You go, girl.
Pedantically, I have to point out that "amatuer" is not spelled correctly in the title. (EDIT: it's fixed now, ty!) Looking forward to the release, you progressed so much in dynamic movements in the first video on Louis' channel!
Those boulders look soft without the weight of doubt holding you down. Just the power of Louis’ unending positivity. Great effort shifting out of the comfort zone.
Great video Hannah! Really enjoyed watching this and learnt a lot about positioning! Just subscribed too! - not sure how I wasn't before as I've been watching your videos for a few weeks now!
Such a great video. I love Louis; he is so motivating and sooo good at explaining moves. Haha, and I love that they play the old good Red Hot Chili Peppers in the background.

Yooooooo what a great video…..really a joy watching Hannah aka the crusher do her thing. Your videos have always been motivating but watching you transform into a really really advanced climber is hella inspiring. Incredible job Hannah…..(my mouth was wide open watching you on the green one💪🏽😃🤙🏽)
Thanks so much!! Really appreciate that comment, it's so motivating that people can see progress. :D :D
That was so amazing to watch! That second climb was just a display! It is so fun to see you climb so hard!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the support :)
What a thoughtful training session. I usually just repeat boulders until they annoy me or I stick them but mostly without much thought in between attempts. Really cool, thanks for sharing
Plus, they seem to have a lovely taste of music at Yonder. I spotted some Chili Peppers and Led Zeppelin in the background. Amazing gym!
Glad you enjoyed it! The music was spot on.
I usually just stick with boulders until I can't try anymore too, usually falling off the exact same move until I get tired haha
Great coaching, with a keen student. That was good. I enjoyed it. Thank you.
Great video, I learned loads just from watching and Luis looks like such a good coach and overall human! Your videos are a joy, especially on rest days when im trying to get through my day without caving in and going to the gym, you help me get my dose of bouldering dopamine!
Such a good teacher, got as much from this video about how to be a good teacher from Louis as I did climbing
AMAZING JOB ON YOUR V6 FLASH!!! Been following you for a while. That was epic. You are looking great Hannah!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate that!
Loved watching Louis coach you. I got to take a dynamic workshop with him when he was in LA, it was great!
So cool! I bet that was a lot of fun - he deffo taught me a lot! :)
That green second climb was really beautiful. Great send!
Absolutely loved this style of coaching, definitely taking this into my next session!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hannah, awesome video! You and Louis complement each other really well. I hope to see more like this in the future.
Great coaching and great flash on the green V6!
Thanks Rob!
This actually helped me out with projecting a lot and I think louis has helped me with doing a first ascent buildering problem on a brick wall
Great to hear that it was helpful for you! 😊
Amazed and impressed by you in every way...........go on Hannah send it.......... Louis makes me smile a lot!!
Thanks so much Andy! Really means a lot 🥲
Wow, that flash of the green problem was so impressive! So strong and technical at the same time! 🤩 (The others too!)
Climbing soooo beautifully Hannah! Amazing seeing your progression!
Thanks so much! 🤩
Wow, So good a video. Big fan of Louis and you're getting stronger and stronger rapidly!!
Thank you so much!
amazing teacher. congrats on that second boulder. i was cheering out loud!
Thank you so much!
Very nice video. Thank you Hanna and Louis🦎
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed it 😅
Pedantically, I have to point out that "amatuer" is not spelled correctly in the title. (EDIT: it's fixed now, ty!)
Looking forward to the release, you progressed so much in dynamic movements in the first video on Louis' channel!
Thank you! I hadn’t spotted so glad you did before it went live! Hope you enjoy the video 😀😀
Love these video’s! They are packed with usefull information :)
Really enjoyed this video and your progression as a climber is inspiring to see. You've got such a lovely way about you
Ahhhh thank you so so much Harley, that's made my day.
That forest green problem looked awesome! Great moves and flow!
Love Louis enthusiasm. Amazing coaching.
This was fantastic! Really enjoyed this, a lot to take away and use at my next gym sesh!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Such a great video, will take this on for my own training
Hannah, so cool to see you learn. You owned that green route!
Thank you! 😃
Such good coaching! Definitely gives me a lot to think about. Such a strong climber, too!
Excellent video!!! This is so helpful. Really enjoyed it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Those boulders look soft without the weight of doubt holding you down. Just the power of Louis’ unending positivity. Great effort shifting out of the comfort zone.
Boulders always seem so much easier once you've unlocked them. Thanks! :)
My favourite video in this channel by far. You two make good videos. Congrats!! :)
Wow, thanks!
Super good video! Felt really relatable for anyone who’s tried hard climbs 😀
Great videos, I really enjoyed them both and learned a lot!
Glad you like them!
All his comments and questions applies to challenges in work and life as well! Thanks man.
The one that I particularly liked was “just keep going and trust that it will be better on the other side!”! 😊
@@hannahmorrisbouldering Thank you for responding! My fave was… something like “why did you fall off, and you’re not allowed to say you’re not strong enough, and what can you do to change the outcome”. Awesome. ❤️🙏🏼
10:05 Louis mixed up active and passive flexibility, it's the other way around - active is when you're putting yourself into a stretched position with your antagonistic muscles, and passive is when you use external force, which in this case is momentum
This was great! So informative and seeing how someone can coach through better climbs
Glad you think so!
Fantastic climbing and great advice from Louis.
Glad you liked it!
I loved the video. You were killing it and he’s so knowledgeable about everything. 🙌 I hope to climb with you someday.
Thanks so much Holden! 😊
this video was awesome! really helpful and applicable tips
Glad you found it helpful!
Wasn't expecting to get hit by the Stairway to Heaven solo :o ahah good job !
What a great video. Learnt loads about moves and about being positive rather than just giving up and just saying it's too hard.
Thanks.
You’re very welcome. Really glad you enjoyed the video!
Really enjoyed watching this!
I’m glad!
Inspiring. You looked so strong on some of those moves on the first and second routes Hannah.
Thanks Joseph, there was a lot of try hard involved haha 😅
im pretty new to climbing. can someone tell me why someone would try to catch the other person when they fall off the wall? i always see people getting in position to catch the person falling off the wall but theyre rarely ever needed nor do they actually catch them
wow that green was amazing!!!! you look so strong
Great guy with a great vibe👌🏻 loved it
Thank you, this is very helpful!
I've been trying to break the v7 threshold too...I need to look into some zoom coaching w louis...not sure if I can afford him but would definitely be awesome!
