  • Introducing Isomat Ceiling Paint: Your Ultimate Choice for a Flawless Ceiling
    Are you in search of the perfect ceiling paint? Look no further! Isomat Ceiling Paint is the latest addition to the market, ready to compete with the likes of Tikkurila AR2 and Jeger AntiReflex paint. But what sets Isomat Ceiling Paint apart from the rest? Let's dive into the details.
    Key Features:
    Water-Based: Isomat Ceiling Paint is water-based, making it a more environmentally friendly choice compared to solvent-based paints.
    Low Odor: Say goodbye to unpleasant paint fumes! Isomat Ceiling Paint is formulated to be low in odor, ensuring a more comfortable painting experience.
    Anti-Reflective: Achieve a stunning flat matte finish with this anti-reflective paint, ideal for ceilings.
    Ease of Application: Applying Isomat Ceiling Paint is a breeze. It's easy to work with, dries quickly, and delivers that smooth ceiling appearance we all desire, all without the hassle of paint flashing.
    Quick Drying: Touch dry in just 1 hour, and you can recoat in 3-4 hours, saving you valuable time during your painting project.
    Versatile Application: Choose your preferred application method - brush, roller, or airless spray - Isomat Ceiling Paint adapts to your needs.
    Thinning Advice: To get the best results, consider thinning Isomat Ceiling Paint with clean water. We recommend a 5% water addition for most cases, but for porous substrates, you might need a bit more. Consult the label on the tin or the Technical Data Sheet for precise guidance.
    Don't let the initial appearance fool you. Sometimes, after the first coat, it may seem like the paint isn't providing the coverage you hoped for, or it hasn't dried properly. Don't panic! Give it a second coat, allow it to dry, and you'll be amazed at its opacity. Isomat Ceiling Paint is designed to deliver outstanding results when given the chance.
    So, why should you try Isomat Ceiling Paint? The answer is simple: for a seamless, professional-looking ceiling finish. Don't miss out on this excellent addition to the market. Try Isomat Ceiling Paint today, and experience the difference for yourself. Your ceiling will thank you!

    I’m glad you mention that about mini-rollers, when I did more site work there were so many decorators that spent ages pointlessly cutting in everything with mini rollers and frowned upon people that didn’t… absolutely ridiculous and a major waste of time.

    I always used McPhersons eclipse on all my lids. Never had a problem with it. I switched to Teknos 02 some time back and it’s amazing. Goes on like a dream and has fantastic opacity. It’s not expensive either at about £45 for 10 litres. I always use isomat premium on all my jobs so will probably give this a go at some point just to compare it to the teknos.

    Talking of gamechangers, for me it's Leyland Acrylic primer undercoat over old oil paint, done the scratch test & its fine 👍followed by Leyland Acrylic Hardwearing eggshell, most homes i work have children so ideal as quick drying 10 mins, low odour & stays pure white, i always liken it to new PVC as it's the purest white, i normally stick to oils on exterior & Acrylics for internal, only time i use waterbased on exterior is front door as oils take a good week to harden & cure & always stick to insulation regardless of being left open all day, good little tip but not much call for it today is when puttying windows etc & it's too oily just add some powder filler to hands & work in 👍 from a painter with 38yrs exp 😉

    • @ProfessionalPainterDecorator
      @ProfessionalPainterDecorator  Год назад

    Think WRX have a ceiling paint out now aswell, i believe a 10L is less than 40 quid. I've been using Teknoceiling for the last year or so as i believe it's as good as AR2 and almost half the price but just ordered a tub of the isomat to give it a go.
    R.e. the mini roller thing, I'm wondering if it's maybe being taught in colleges these days but I've always crows nested out my ceiling cutting in, almost do it on autopilot so don't think I could be arsed to try rolling out after brushing. Plus it makes your pelican heavier and it's just another sleeve to clean out at the end of the job!

      @ProfessionalPainterDecorator  Год назад

      9ltr tub about £50. Add 5% water to it and I don't think you need to add anymore.. unless going over very porous substrates.
      How does the ultra Matt stand up to a damp sponge being wiped over it, if wallpapering and needing to remove some paste off it, does it soften up like a contract Matt ?

    • @Martin-qf6of
      @Martin-qf6of 10 месяцев назад +1

      Ultra matt has been fine for wiping when I have wallpapered so had no issues there.
      I have finally tried this paint have to say it was a failure for me unfortunately after 4 coats of Isomat ceiling paint it still was grinning where there was bare plaster I had sanded it back too. Will be sticking with the dulux ultra matt for ceilings.

    Another new paint available 🙄
    Can’t keep up with it
    I use AR2 all the time now and love its finish.
    I don’t understand why a company makes you water down a product from the start, surly if it is the right consistency in the beginning, then you should be able to apply straight away and knock it back if like you say, for a porous surface.
    I would rather have 10 lt to start with.
    I like the idea regarding the slight colour difference on application, that would help with knowing where you have been on the second coat.
    A quick question regarding their wall paint, how does that compare to Johnstones Dura Matt
    I have recently noticed that it’s not as wipeable as you think.
    I am using Dura Matt at the moment and found a few hand prints the other day on a wall.
    I wiped over the area with a clean damp micro fibre cloth and it left a bigger area that was more visible and didn’t change for a couple of days.
    I had to re roll it.
    Anyone else have issues with it?
    It’s a shame if it’s not up to scratch as I find it is one of the best finishes
    Look forward to hearing any comments

    • @timwhittington8988
      @timwhittington8988 Год назад +1

      The reason you dilute paint is to help the flow and adhere to the substrate. It goes on itself without the need to dilute, but a porous substrate such as one coated with contract emulsion will dry it out to quickly which can lead to it dragging.
      As for Johnstone’s Acrylic Durable Matt, that’s not the product it was years ago. It has been diluted with vinyl and is deemed an acrylic copolymer.
      Isomat Professional Color is a full acrylic durable matt, scrub rated over 15,000 and so more durable and much higher volume solids (40%)
      If you put 1l clean water in a 9l Professional Color, you’ll have 10l of paint with 36% volume solids and so will still provide better opacity and durability that Johnstone’s Acrylic Durable Matt.
      Give it a try.
