I don't see the parallel. Noam Chomsky considers Nixon the last Liberal president of the US. BTW, Nixon was actually psychiatrically ill at the time. Here's Nixon, years after his resignation, talking about his negotiations with Brezhnev in the 1970s: ruclips.net/video/2wksepum_6I/видео.htmlsi=S5LqUzkb3Ein5T4J&t=1133 This is really worth watching - Tricky "The Crook" Dicky gives a masterclass on what's important and how to negotiate. Compare Watergate with Bush's invasion of Iraq or the 1980 October Surprise.
Actually there are lessons from Watergate, but you can judge, whether it's good or bad lessons: 1) The Watergate Era had the bulk of news from the Big Three Networks. 2024 has alot more television channels going on. The liberals have MS-NBC and the conservatives have Fox News as their media outlets. In 1974, the Big Three Networks controlled about 90 percent of news on TV. 2) Nixon appointed 4 Supreme Court Justices, who were confirmed by a Democrats controlled Senate, carrying about 55-60 Seats. Nixon's Justices were moderate to conservative, tended to be bipartisan. Trump appointed 3 Supreme Court Justices, who were confirmed by a Senate that the Republicans have a slim margin. The Justices were ultraconservatives and Trump loyalists. When it came to the biggest case, Nixon lost by a margin of 8 to 0, but Trump won by a margin of 6 to 3. 3) Gerald Ford, decided to pardon Nixon, as a way to "move forward". Ford and Nixon were political allies and friends for 25 years. Nixon wasn't going to run for any more political offices. Nixon in the spotlight was making it harder for the President and the Congress to take care of matters of state. Congress decided not to go further in impeachment process, because Nixon wasn't in office after August 8, 1974. The votes were likely there for a guilty verdict, if a trial reached the Senate. Biden refused to grant Trump any type of pardon. Biden saw Trump as his likely challenger in 2024. Having Trump in the spotlight, was a blessing for Biden, because the public was distracted more with Trump's escapades, than with Biden's agenda and declining health. A Democratic Senate focused on an impeachment trial, designed to remove a President from office, after that President has already vacated that position. The votes weren't there for a guilty verdict. When was the last time in US history, when an Ex-President was mentioned as frequently as Trump, in the term of his successor? Previous Presidents typically disappear from the scene, but Trump was on TV more than Biden.
i always wondered why Forrest Gump reported a breakin at his hotel in the film. its now 2024 and ive figured it out. I was born in 84 so gimmie a break.
SORRY that americans are now treated as second class citizens in the USA SORRY that americans have fought the wrong wars mislead by their own government SORRY Nixon never spoke about the SYSTEM or weather of discontent while President of the USA until 1974 SORRY that maybe americans are somewhat bad judge of character over their politicians
I am speaking to you as media? Don't understand why you are against are America why not do the right thing the show the truth it's your America to your kids to

Watergate looks like stealing extra napkins at the burger joint compared to what GOP is doing these days with Trump. Lock them up.
Watergate was just the tip of the iceberg
My first ever "I remember where I was" moment, was the night Nixon resigned.
Ditto
So where were you?
Thank God for Forrest Gump.
Yeah...and to think he wouldn't have had much of anything to worry about if he had this Supreme Court.
Tom Cruise knows where Shelly Miscavige is
The Democrats keep harping on this. One day it will backfire. ;-)
GOP: the same now as it was then
Every time I watch a documentary about Nixon, I can't help but think of Trump.

Richard Dixon? 🤣🤦♂️
so very controversial but so bland, for likely billions of reasons
SORRY that americans are now treated as second class citizens in the USA

What’s with the melodramatic music.
Oh and great that a news program is sponsored. By a drug company.
