To this day the vocalist still has one of the most impressive, strongest voices I’ve heard in rock. And the other members are off the walls, the guitarist of course, but the bassist and drummer really hold their own consistently. It’s so impressive.
Yep! Saw them a couple nights ago in Portland and they blew me away. Hadn’t heard much of their music before but they’ve got me hooked now. Four of the best musicians I’ve ever seen.
I agree. This band has always been great, but something was in the water they were drinking in ‘93! I think they fully realized the epic sound that they create and honed it to perfection. Doug Wimbish never hurts either, not that Muzz was a slouch.
man, this sounds better than the album version, and that one sounds great...found myself singing to the song and had to close the door to my office....lol
Still remember that short show on MTV back in 93. When MTV was really something. The live version of this song along with Nothingness are far better from studio versions!
I love Doug here, he was having the time of his life. That was the band's first tour with Doug and it looks as if he's going "I cant' believe it, I'm ACTUALLY here!"
The irony of black artists playing black music then being called “black metal” or “black rock” surely white bands should be referred to that since they’re the guests

Amen! These mfkr's ROCKED!
@@admobeer9551 they still do, in their 60s even
@@jfayiii I see that. After watching this one, I took a trip down memory lane and listened to some interviews. Hell, I like them even more now.

wow MTV... back in the days when they played music.
I sit on the edge of my seat every time I listen to Cult of personality
1993 Stain was the absolute peak of this band. Incredible.
I think Doug Winbush coming on as the bassist, took this band in a whole new direction and revealed their real talent.

@@greenmile4233 Muzz was incredible, but Doug was somehow better

wow, incredible song, incredible performance . Top of their game here
I saw them in '93 at the 9:30 club in DC. A life altering event.
Yeah man, with Bad Brains. I was there too. My ears are still ringing.
Vernon's tone is sick as f, bass is killer , vocals are stellar and keeping it together, a bad ass drummer! Excellent performance!
Basically the perfect rock band.
La mejor etapa de Living Colour. Sonaban con mucha furia y filo.
This is Blackmetal! One of the best performances I‘ve ever seen. Vernon Reid is such a beast!
Always loved the guitar player. His chord voicing is great.
James Hanford Vernon is a genius
Still one of my faves to play on the guitar some 25+ years later. Vernon cruises on that Hamer
The best had rock Afro American Group ever!
One of the few bands in all my years that were likely better in concert than they were in the studio. Just phenomenal performers.
Great song, great live performance.
Stain is their best album!
In concert the best, my 90's band
