I actually had to relearn a lot about Taiwan since although I grew up there when I was little, I didn’t have much memories of it. But it is definitely an interesting experience to see how even basic things like traffic can work!
Your videos are incredible. I appreciate your style and the effort you put into these short films. I've learned alot from you and you sold me on the Sherman. Thank you!
another AWESOME vid!! Sure would love to waste more than 10 minutes per vid, and I'm always psyched to see the video timer showing 12 and 13 minutes or more. Already looking forward to your next one! :D
2:37 That pomeranian got tilted by your EUC This Taiwan series really made me want to visit it one day. I've only ever been to the their airport, but might go out for a tour next time I'm there.
LOL thanks for riding with me again! I really enjoyed the group ride and that route, hopefully we can do it again! and if you ever come by NYC, look me up and I'll be happy to show you around!
My Taiwanese cousin took a scooter trip around the island as a post-highschool rite of passage with his friends. I imagine someone out there is going to be the first to do such a trip by EUC!
Taiwan I think strikes a good balance, the food halls looks pretty chaotic but are in fact pretty well regulated, there are lots of weird food to people who may not be use to it! buut there are sooo much variety it isn't hard for anyone to find something they can enjoy. the BBQ Corn is crazy good!!
To add, those boxes are intended for mopeds to perform a “two staged” left turn for safety reasons. I think there are considerations on creating exceptions on when motorists can turn left instead of having to do the two staged left turn. www.dot.gov.taipei/News_Content.aspx?n=D739A9F6B5C0AB95&sms=72544237BBE4C5F6&s=78AD33F50B913B90
Don't say bad things on my 18xl,🤗. In fact I prefer my 16s because it's lighter and more nimble. Even if max speed is 35km/h. You gave me some ideas. I will visit Taiwan.
You probably way back from your trip with your video uploads lighting the way with newer Future NYC rides. Where in the NYC 5 borough area can you recommend me to at least try a wheel for experience?, this of course is before I buy? I know some places charge for lessons to which I am willing to pay😀👌
its going to be hard as EUC needs a bit of practice just to get on and ride, so a quick hour or two lesson isn't going to do. buying a used wheel for cheap is usually the best way to go!
It's a very weird contrast between your trip Taiwan footage and Kuji's recent video of own stomping grounds. Even with all the masks the density of people where you were was still surprising to see at this point in the virus outbreak. The road system seems to be more akin to highways rather than local roads herein NYC. Left side for higher speed passing lane traffic, general traffic in the center, and slower moving vehicles in the right lane, not sure how easy it'd be to convert local roads to match that organization though.
physically the roads are the same, they are just govern differently, the right most lane is protected so no cars except if you're turning. so even if you ride a slower 50cc scooter or bicycle you can stay in that lane knowing that people won't pass you doing like 50mph. This does reduce the number of car lanes but since scooters and pevs are so much more efficient overall the road carries more ppl. Its just a matter of painting different lane marking but changing driver behavior is prob harder.
I go back every year for Chinese New Years! Are you on the line chat group? I’ll probably ask around there before I go next year; hopefully it’ll be back to normal by then...
What do you think about 18XL vs 16X and MSX/MSP for casual urban usage (10-25 mph). It doesn't look exciting, but it seems like a useful comfortable wheel: thinner nimble tire, thin case, awesome trolley handle, large flat pedals. The MSX trolley handle seems atrocious. Sold my 16X, wheel went where it wanted to, I got tired of fighting it.
You'll have an easier time controlling the 18XL than the 16X, the thinner tire does make it easier to control. I wouldn't suggest MSX/MSP for casual use since that wheel has a lot of quality of life problem people typically overlook simply because it is the fastest EUC you can buy.
Hsiang I thought the MSP fixed what issues was wrong with the MSX. I have the MSX 100V. My only con is the headlight and taillight. They are pretty weak. What issues do you have with those two?
Hey, Lots of love from India. really wish to but one but I need to ask I am getting an KS 16S in India date of manufacturing of the same is Jan, 2018. What is the life cycle of batteries used in these EUC.. please let me know thanks
it all depends on how the wheel had been stored and cared for. storing batteries while they are fully charge or near empty are both really bad, so to start see how well the wheel will hold a charge and go from there!
Thankyou for your feedback. Can you please tell me the life cycle of an EUC it may be in kilometres driven or years. How long can I expect to use an EUC??
That was really fun video. I like seeing new areas that you ride on, and learning the different rules of the road. I really want a that Monster that you got, but being that I spent all the money on repairing my home after the electrical fire. I don't know if I ever will get one.
Your criticisms of the king song 18XL are that it is reliable, predictable and has a top speed of 30 mph??? Please God bless me a twitchy wheel that travels 40+ where I can disable all tilt back warnings. My goal in life is to become a meat crayon on RUclips. I will not stop until that dream has been realized.
Ha! I love your vids and have watched every one! I'm just jelly cuz I don't got the stones to get into traffic like you. U make it look easy - one day though!
I think its mostly an issue with cost; a electric moped don’t cost that much more and is much more practical since it seats two. There is still a following but EUC is more seen as a fancy toy than a practical commuting tool.
@@OWGAC Two wheels better than one logic, maybe. I never see Taiwan on the beaten path of the normal tourist. Going to definitely take advantage of the low demand to see what prices are like.
Motor rating is a bit weird, small differences of 1-200 w almost don’t make a difference since wattage depending on load. Also voltage matters, 2000w 84v don’t feel anything like a 2000w 100v wheel

Alright! Let's waste another 10 minutes watching an awesome video!
LOL thank you! =D
It is so awesome that you can move fluidly between cultures. Hats off to you. I am really enjoying this. Cultures have much to learn from each other
I actually had to relearn a lot about Taiwan since although I grew up there when I was little, I didn’t have much memories of it. But it is definitely an interesting experience to see how even basic things like traffic can work!
Hsiang They know how to handle traffic
Boy! I miss the food in Taiwan. Those clips brought back so many good memories.
omg I miss it too! the pandemic throws everything into the air but I hope I can still make my early visit comes next spring!

love the naration and the ride👍🏻🙏🏻
Thank you!
This was no waste of time, very educational: Taiwan, KS18XL, Gogoro, WeMo, push-cart foods, gas scooters, road surfaces, traffic rules, bike paths.
Glad you enjoy it and hopefully we'll get to ride together again soon!
Thanks, great shooting!
thank you!
Another excellent production my friend! This pretty much felt like broadcast quality to be honest :)
Thank you!!

Yay! Hsiang :) thanks I'm famous now. The video is amazing, it portrays Taipei in such a different light. Thank you ^^
Hope ur staying safe and all goods back at NYC.

The uni rider in Taiwan told me they already did a trip with their wheels around Taiwan!
Market scene looks a bit scary to me right now. Nice, but scary. Not as scary as 5:54 , but still scary. You are really good at travelogues!

Damn, 600 miles route for the win !
you mean the ride around the island? I love to do it one day!
Perfect views 👍
Thank you!!!
Great vid 👍

welcome to Taiwan, i like your videos

Oh the food!!
Amazing video even if I really can't agree with your decision to go to Taiwan from NYC at this moment.
Oh this was from a month ago. God that feels like an eternity ago now.

Ha! and when you are there don't forget to go to a night market and try the stinky tofu!!
👍🏻 Nice!
thank you!
It be nice if roads are like this in the States and laws allow for more friendly usage of moped
We need to be a bit less car obsesses as a nation, especially in urban areas they create more problems then they solve.
Yes! Spreading the virus at high speed!😂😂😂
Good vid

In the US roads are not just for cars and trucks, bicycle have right of way also. EUC is a cycle. Classed such a way here any way.
Regulation/ enforcement/ actual behaviors are like 3 completely different things here in NYC!!
@@OWGAC good to know, yeah nyc is a strange place
Hi Hsiang! Wondering what you think about riding in TW? Would you do it again? Is there a business that'll rent out EUC's in Taipei?
lol@ missing a wheel man.
I'm in Taipei. Call me next time man for some serious riding ;)

Hsiang I guess I am. Anyway, just ask for Philippe
hey do you think 18xl es working with a 6´1 tall ( 1.86 m) and 200 lb ( 90 kg) guy with no problem?
How're you riding an euc in Taiwan??? Who's wheel??? Oh....jack
Yeah! so happy to have an euc when I was there, best way to see city!

when will u come to Australia, I’m a EUC rider and I’m soooo lonely...
LOL I had heard from a few so there must be other EUC riders there!

thank you! if you save up I am sure you will! they aren't cheap but at least they aren't anything close the cost of a nice motorcycle or even cars!
I love food.
I agree with it! its an national obsession for the Taiwanese!
On a lighter note, are those “ hammer pants” ?
LOL we’re old enough where things that were cool when we were young are now making a comeback!
C'mon "It's Hammer Time!"
Funny in Oz they're called Indonesian Fishing Pants
Me dumdum. I meant Vietnamese fishing pants
Yoyoyo man, is it better than Ninebot Z10?
When did you film this???
this was about a month ago now. boy things feel really different now..
Top speed?
like all king song wheel, its limited to 50kph or 31mph. I think I been spoiled by the monster so need a bit more speed..

nothing wrong with the 18XL, if you enjoy then that's great! no need to rain on my parade just because I have different preferences no?

@8:10 there is zero point in wearing a skid lid if the chinstrap isn’t done up. 🤦🏻♂️
Yikes the one time I missed the buckle..
Taiwan is good! And it is so sad to know that soon China will attac Taiwan.
