Tough to watch a kid (especially your own) or anyone on the ground moaning in shock and pain like that, but also an important eye-opening and alarming reminder to always ride safe. You could've easily cut that out of the video, but i'm glad you included that to show the reality of riding E-rides/PEV (OW, EUCs, etc). Also very happy to see her get back up and ride through!

I just got my first EUC Kingsong S18. I never ride EUC before, I tried to practice already and its just like learning how to ride bicycle again but I won't stop until I learn. Thanks for very inspiring video, I love it. And I'm glad your daughter is okay.
Just saw the vid. You picked a great day to ride. My city is the prettiest when the sun is out. I thought there might be a large one wheel/euc community here. I see them once in awhile when I'm out & about. I think this vid just helped me decide to order my 1st euc. Safe riding and come back anytime !!

Great ride through a great city. If you are ever in San Francisco over a Saturday you should check out the BAESK8 rides. I just started riding with that group about 5 weeks ago and it is a 25 mile ride throughout a lot of San Francisco. Unfortunately due to the increasing spread of COVID-19 our rides are on hiatus until things settle down a bit more with infection rates. Until then I practice on my MTen3. It hurt a little inside to see an MTen3 on fire.
What a fantastic ride! 👍👍👍 Some awesome EUC riding skills there, with the big stairs and skate park stuff. 😮🤘 Shame about the EUC fire, now someone must have had a very sad walk home... 100% loss there nothing salvageable. 😥

BTW this was a good video the only thing is that it was too short. You should try making a 20min to 30min one. I'm addictive to EUC and PEV videos. Do any of the other riders have video of this ride on RUclips?

with battery fires you pretty much have to wait for all of the cells to burn first. if you don't each cell will start burning once you've 'put the fire out' and re start the fire.

Are the electric unicycles as hard as normal unicycles to ride? The electric unicycles seem much faster than my 20” unicycle and seem like much less effort to ride, so I’ve thought about getting an EUC on multiple occasions.
Why that EUC caught on fire? Did someone crash it real bad? What type of EUC was it? Brand name and model....That way I won't get it since I'm new and learning.
He said it in the video, it was a "MODDED" wheel. These wheels don't just catch fire but if you start messing with the batteries now you might just have problems coming your way?
Jimmy could have done a much better job explaining: someone messed with that EUC and modified it's batteries. That is why it caught on fire. Modern EUC and OneWheels are very safe and this will not happen unless you start taking it apart and trying to make changes when you're not qualified.
So for the record: this was an euc modded to have power from a backpack wired straight in to the controller to keep the wheel rolling further. It worked flawlessly for months. Onewheels do this on a very regular basis without issue. The problem came when he crashed earlier on in the ride and damaged the cable where it went through the shell. This eventually became a dead short and he didn’t notice until much too late to do anything to stop the fire. Normal unmodified wheels from any of the major manufacturers have almost no risk of this happening. None of the other eucs on this ride had been modified in this way.
I so much enjoyed this video Jimmy. I just wish I could be a part of the group, or any other group in my area, but alas I made poor choices in my life where I can't even afford the wheel I want that is the Veteran Sherman. I'm trying to save up for it though. Again great video.

Besides the great visuals, that was some of the best EUC riding I've ever seen, from the five-year-old all the way up to the older guy that was riding down the stairs. What model EUC caught on fire? It's North of los Angeles California about 4 hrs near the coast going to Big Sur, CA and San Jose CA, and Monterey, CA, maybe 3 hrs away from Santa Cruz, CA where the Onewheel was invented. And as it turns out, a lot of college students have Onewheels in the city of San Luis Obispo itself because it is a college town, and we also have a university called California Polytechnic State University.

I know of 2 EUC fires. Both were modded. So it doesn't happen often. I think this thumbnail looked better than any of the fire scenes.

I like to test ride the wheel and inspect it before buying. I also don't like to pay for shipping.
