Simone has this fantasy about her son living with her. The kid is difficult and troubled. He's never going to allow her to be happy until she gets back with his dad or has her all to himself. Simone will die alone at this rate. Op needs to rethink his marriage, if not end it altogether. Also, I think Jacob was causing problems at dad's house which is why his dad pawned him off on his mom.

Wait, OP had confidential documents but left it in an open office area? And he couldn't do the renovation to the basement for an office instead? He could have put a lock on the door, which should have happened because of those documents.
He should have kicked Simone out sooner instead of her storming off. She consistently blew off her son's behavior. Even when they verge on being illegal. When she thinks she's able to handle her son's issues on her own, that would have been another straw added to the already many straws. She was hiding something HUGE that would (and did) affect everyone around him. This OP couldn't even grow a spine and only continued to think with his little head.

The office was being used as Jacob temporary bedroom..but the office area should've been moved to the basement.
Not putting Jacob in the renovated basement. Jacob wasn't wrong about op.
He does favour his daughter over Jacob. Jacob felt that for sure.
Op never cared about his stepson & that caused the divide.
I grew up with brothers as a teenager & I didn't have to be in separate house. Just separate bedrooms.
My brothers got the bigger room because their was two of them.
We all shared a bathroom.
With outdoor toilet not fun.
But op caused it a lot for sure.
Op bitched about simone about putting her son before Emily.
But he was doing the same thing.
Op is a ahole for sure
Emily is a spoiled brat.
Simone needs to listen.

If the marriage ends because the mother protects her child who’s in the wrong, then it wasn’t strong to begin with. Evident by the pushback given to moving the stepson in. Plus the constant over reaction of being defensive , never backing OP, not listening, and running off to her sister’s. But OP definitely should have had stronger protection on his work computer to prevent this. But bottom line…this marriage is doomed if not already over

2: Was he acting out with his biological dad? You know, the person who broke up his family!
3: This proves why you should ALWAYS stand up for yourself in your relationships!
