I don't know, I have no interest in VR. I'm very old school and don't see any draw to it. I'm sure I am among a very small percent of the population

Well the thing is, compared to pc vr (and in some cases console vr) phone vr is terrible. If you still don't like it though, then I won't try to change your opinion

i could see it being interesting in about ten years perhaps but right now it just seems gimmicky. The applications i could see it working well in would be school and business. vr teachers, replacing conference calls with "in person" vr meetings. Stuff like that.

My dad was thinking of buying a VR headset with a PS4. I told him that the headset itself is expensive and like $200. NOPE. $400. The headset costs more than the system itself. No one is going to play with VR if they can't afford it. Especially since it's in a gimmicky stage right now where it's only cool for a short time till it becomes boring.

am i the only one who is noticing the vr industry about to crush? it's just like the videogame crush of 1983: too little quality software, waaaay to much hardware that is too simular each other, as well as being too expansive, or too limited. people are already losing interest in it, and revenues are shrinking. but i don't think anyone is going to be the nintendo of this crush and save the day with a good, competitive headest and quality software.

***** I want it to happen, i want VR to succeed, but I just can't believe any company with enough money will know how to make it work or see it as a good investment. Almost any hardware company has made or supported a VR headset by now, and probably with the exception of the Gear VR (the old, white one), either is or is going to be a flop. Actually, arcades might be the answer for VR. sure, peronal $800 headsets are nice, but with arcades, top of the line $10,000 devices can be the norm, but for end user, it's only going to cost a few dollars each time they want to play.
I've never tried any of these yet, but I do feel a little nausea even when I wear the 3D glasses. For like the first 30 mins then I'm ok/

Here I am, I belong to the group who knows VR is out there but is unable to get my hands on it to truly appreciate / experience this kind of technology. Innovation of any kind is kinda wasted if people aren't able to have the chance to experience it for what it is.

VR was "here" in the 80's, then again 90's, 2000... almost here.. hit 2016, still a big clunky headset that costs way too much. Is this really where we are nearly 30 years later? I think augmented reality games are a much better direction at this point. Less dizziness and your not totally cut off from others around you.
If you ever saw SAO I or II you'd understand that that's why VR multiplayer with friends exists.

After experiencing VR & 360 contents, now my 1st phone buying criteria became a 1080p/5.5"Display & a gyroscope at least....anything without this, I don't consider them at all....
Your rant is valid, and this is the reason Microsoft is moving more towards Augmented Reality instead of Virtual Reality. AR solves most of the motion sickness ant antisocial aspects of VR. But there's still the biggest issue that none of these can overcome: most people do not want to wear tech, of any kind.
get a jbl xtreme and unbox it. It has much more sound and bass than ue megaboom :)And its the same price too. Jbl had quality parts. Try that and the megaboom sounds like a toy. :D
100%, if you are against VR, it means you haven't tried it yet. And no, PSVR, cardboard, and gear VR are not real VR. Real VR is only with the Rift and the Vive.
