I lot of holiday makers don't realize that when you get up to this elevation on the Funchal hillsides, the weather is very different from Centro or Lido. This is a disappointment to many.
Hello Sally! That’s a great point. The elevation really does make a difference. I guess if the price is good and you’re planning to be gone all day sightseeing and have a car it can work. @@Track_Us_Down yeah, I visited some visited friends who rented a lovely home up there (I think this is Boa Nova) with a pool, and it was misty and cloudy the whole time they were there. It was sunny and warm in the Lido. They were a bit bewildered because they did a lot of careful planning and paid top price for the rental. But the micro climates here are so dramatic it's understandable that very few people would understand the potential issues.

Great video and wonderful property! Do you know if new licences for Airbnb / short term rentals are still allowed in Madeira. I was under the impression that it has been stopped for the whole of Portugal and that existing licences can also not be transferred to new owners?
