I think that the best solution is a class action suit to get our promised planets back. Durning most of my life, it was always taught that a man could literally become a god and have his own planet if he made it to the highest degree of the Celestial Kingdom.
I am totally bummed that I no longer get my own planet. How can I become a God if I don't get my own planet? After all, "as man is, God once was". I feel deceived.
At 2:45 when you talked about taking a brain break vs hustling for your worthiness: YES! That reminds me of the Good, Better, Best talk by Oaks in 2007. We always have to be doing the BEST thing. The issue comes from the definition of 'best'. Is it OK rest (good) when we could be studying scriptures (best)? It depends. Sometimes rest IS best! I know that for a long time I listened to General Conference talks while I worked out at the gym. I felt that if I was doing something selfish and not gospel centered, like working out, that I had to balance it with something that was in the 'best' category. Let me tell you, a workout done to songs that I love and that have rhythm are far better (if not BEST) than workouts down with the sound track of an old man talking. The list of gospel to-dos is just so long and endless that i think it fully explains Utah's high use of anxiety and depression medication. We never can know when we've done enough because we never have done enough. There's always a temple session that we could do, instead of going on a bike ride with our kids. There's always a person we could minister to, instead of read a book. There's always more fast offering we could give, instead of going out for dinner.
The more I delve into the spiritual depths of the LDS Church, the more I get the impression that at some point God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit were numbed by endless recitations from the BoM or all D&C and then locked in some basement from which they can no longer escape.
We had a bishopric member in my old ward that had a large family of all daughters and a very sad and tired looking wife. When the daughters got older it was discovered he was molesting all those girls. Last I heard he was in prison.
9:28 it’s a weasel wording situation by the church. They said humans will have our own worlds to create and populate. Now when someone asks if people can have their own planet they can “honestly” (but only on a semantic technicality) say that’s never been taught. They can claim they don’t know of a world is a planet or some other things. Never mind that it was regularly talked about that space is worlds without number and somewhere out there is god, that he created it all and one day we will be like god. Becoming like god is part of the doctrine, so if God has a planet or planets, then so will the humans who progress in the celestial kingdom to become gods. For the church to say it’s not our doctrine, just because there isn’t a wording in the scriptures that says humans will have their own planets is silly and gaslighting.
Church and discipline is like oil and water they don’t mix. Church members should not be in charge of disciplining anyone. The “ leaders” hold no authority over others. This environment where people are elevated to hold members “accountable” needs to stop.
I love how the church keeps denying its doctrine. We all grew up believing we would be exalted and be heavenly parents over our own spirit children on our own planet. Being a woman I would get to look forward to eternal polygamy. This bothered me before I was even old enough to be baptized.
I've listened to all the available episodes. Excellent!
Same - it's so good and can't wait for more!
I never cease to be amazed how much control the LDS holds over it's members! If it quacks like a cult...
I have listened to two episodes here in South Africa.Good stuff.

Getting our own planet was just one of those "temporary doctrines".

@@The_Damninal LOL, Who needs a dumb old planet anyway. It's too much upkeep. Better to be zooming around the universe having fun.

They were like "damn this is boring."

Only the Church of Scientology can save this poor, lost woman.
You mean one of the other corporations masquerading as a religion?
@@GenerallyUnquotable Only Scientology can help you. Can you come up with a $10,000 deposit?
Never hear any of this in the 44 plus thousands of non-denominations…not
