Looks like a gray tabby house cat. Glad they both live for another day
Two cute animals I'm glad they never fight
That was interesting. How sweet he is 😊 Amazing how tame they are with you. Thank you for sharing.
It cracks me up when people call wild animals SWEET and TAME. They're not pets. Try to pick one up and see what happens
@Atman Gotango like i said. Try to pick one up and see what happens. Pine martin is in the weasel family. Weasels can kill prey 4 times their size. Sure it might take a grape. But if you tried to pet or pick up the tame sweet creature i promise you,d be sorry
Amazing until they get into your chicken coup and bite their heads off.
Cat : Hey Ron
Marten : Hey billy
They are both young, I think.
holy cow what a beautiful cat!!!
That cat didn't even have a reservation. The cheek. 🙂
Your porch is a small enchanted spot where many feel welcome. Well done.
Look at the claws on that Marten!
Here in the US we have these wildcats too. We call them house cats and name them Buffy or Little Girl.
No, we don't have the ancestor of the domesticated cat, we have feral house cats that live in the wild. Think of Felis sylvestris like a wolf.
the two perfect assasins
They are both so beautiful... 🤗🥰
Wow.
That is amazing.
You fed a Martin grapes?
So cool 😎
That looks like a baby bobcat.
...if actually a Bobcat at all.
Looks like a mini wolverine ,,,,
it is, essentially, they are both a type of weasel or mustelid.
their related smilar to how a lynx is related to a tiger or jaguar.. wolverines, otters, minks, ferrets, badgers and weasels, all related..
While not as fearless as Wolverine far as will battle other predators...
Far as prey an adult pune martin will ambush a deer...
And eat porcupines no problem
Martens kick arse! Apparently they're in the Glen behind me
Domestic cats are know to kill Martens but they pretty much just leave each other alone.
Depends on the species of marten. Beech and yellow throated martens sometimes hunt cats due to being bigger and more aggressive than pine martens such as this one but yes wild cats and sometimes domestic cats will kill pine martens from time to time if it comes down to an altercation. Cats are fierce fighters.
Great video. cats will chase an adult pine marten away and usually they don't engage. there not as heavy as a domestic cat but just as deadly.
That was very nice ... what a beautiful animal. Wonder if the cat is like some bobcat/cat mixes here in the Southwestern US.
What? Bobcats do NOT interbreed with domestic/feral cats in the wild. Delete this misinforming comment NOW.
A Scottish Wildcat is an indigenous wild cat from Scotland and Europe. Slightly larger than the domestic cat, thicker tail with dark rings, greyish/brown tabby coat. The one in the video is a mix between it and a regular domestic cat.
His name is Rocket
He looks like a cat dog!
Now we know what Michael Jackson came back as, lol.
These two will become friends.
You're doing wrong thing feeding wild animals in any other time of year than winter.
never a good thing... unless in danger of extinction. survival of the fittest
@@jessemartinez3652 Exactly.
Pine marten is bigger, but his agility is not as good as smaller marten.
Abit of a deceptive title.
Were it not for the fact that the thumbnail states that it is a cerebral encounter.
How many of you noted a Demon's Hand in the end?
" Denouement " - I had to google that one.
Marten is much bigger than the senior cat .
What is that fruit🤔the red balls, salute from 🇲🇽🇨🇦🇺🇸
Hello Ryky - they are grapes. They do not grow in Scotland (too far north), so it is a little surprising that the martens love them. Mind you, strawberry jam and peanut butter are also favourites. They turn their noses up at dog food.
Ok sweet ,,😋😋thanks for the answer 🙂🙂🇲🇽🇨🇦🇺🇸
Common tabby cat... Lol
Hi, Looking for some info, I have a Pine Marten friend, I call him Guy. He has been visiting me every night since spring, to the point I could film him within 2 feet, he has given my fingers a quick sniff once but generally he ignores me sitting quietly watching. I leave him a small jam piece, an egg and some fruit n nuts, which he seems to relish. .... However, for 2 weeks he has suddenly been absent, I'm so sad and worried. there is a pair cats local to me but they usually ignore each other, could it just be there is pleny food about? Do they uaually visit less at this time of year? I dont want to give up hope just yet :(
Hello. I know your pain. Over the last few years, despite visiting me every night without fail, one of my chums has sometimes gone missing for up to two weeks or more. It is usually during the summer, but my regulars have always returned. Sometimes it is because a female is otherwise occupied with her kits, but males also go missing. I have now ceased to worry. I have assumed it is often because they have an adequacy of proper food (there is a superabundance of rowan berries in Scotland at the moment), but lately it is probably because of cats. They don't seem overly bothered with their presence, but they do seem to avoid close contact (within a couple of metres) if possible (i.e. if they are not too hungry). There is usually an exchange of growling between them but nothing more serious. Another reason for a particular marten to go awol is the presence of another marten. Sometimes they are the best of pals, other times they cannot stand each other. Young martens will also be 'encouraged' to move away when they get to a certain age by their mother.
@@scottishpinemartens8461 Thank you for your reply, I will be more patient and hope he returns, we also have a problem with Mink in the area ( south Skye) so maybe it has a bearing on things too as they have been setting traps for them recently. Fingers crossed
@@caledoniadreamin93 wishing your little friend the best
@@caledoniadreamin93did it ever return?
Martens can be tamed and have as pets for advance pet keepers
So you’re encouraging extinctions to happen. Got it. Domesticated animals are right there but ok.
A hunter can be aggressive towards martens.
Thats not a widcat its just a cat
It's a hybrid . The markings on the legs and tail are wild . I looked after 2 in a reserve for a couple of years .
Mini wolverine.
Mini wolverine
That Marten wouldn't have an easy time with the cat. Cats will fight a coyote or dog.
Is the Hybrid cat not a true wild cat ? If so it should be destroyed because is it not this mix that is destroying the true wild cats ?
Why destroy? Maybe neutering or spaying would be a better option?
@@cherrylovell404 declaw.it !
@@gonorrheadischarges3021 you’re nuts
Are you dumb?? Why?
Leave cats alone people, there amazing, that marten destroys anything on its path, except the cat, dont even try to mess with him which was interesting, martens attack anything !!!
Sorry, but if this is in Scotland and the cat is a european wild cat and not a feral house cat, the Pine marten was wise to back of. The wild cat is very different to your feral house cat!!
O Please!
Better watch ya cats
wild cat. 😜
3. Adult Pine Martins are enough to take down mouse deer and barking deer...
That's insane to think about!
The one on the porch is a juvenile.
Hello. Indeed it does look youngish, but it is in fact an adult male Martes martes (European pine marten). I have been communicating with it for over five years. It shows the signs of age when inspected closely (such as loss of teeth).
Why do you feed this animal!! it’s not cat friendly 😡
Yo check out Silvester the cat
Nothing happened 👎🏽
I had to define two words u used to describe the so called fight like WTF extant/Denouement
…
comedy🤔.... let's stick to wildlife
Click bait bullshit. Why do you people feel the need to lie all the time?
Bab
Clickbait
It's a pet marten raised by humans. Had it been a wild marten, the cat would have been on its menu.
I had a Black large male cat growing up, killed a Marten easily, and one who was wild. All depends on the animal.
Never underestimate a weasel, it was probably young marten. An adult marten will not think twice about making a meal of cat.
Cats rely on ambush tactics, mustelids are pure ferocity. Cat wins quickly, or else it escapes, or else the marten wins grimly. And pine martens can climb trees, so that takes away a potential avenue of escape
Long story short: Don't sleep on weasels, badgers, or otters
@@kaifrahman2703 lol Fossa kick those marten ass
