The inserts is also where you would “substitute” the channel strip, if you wanted to use 3rd party plug ins instead of built in strip for your dynamics/eq, i feel like alot of people get confused about that with reason, i usually just use the channel strip myself, its great, but sometimes im lazy n just want to throw neutron AI on every channel to get me started lol, and thats exactly where insert slot comes in handy
Thank you ❤❤ Ive been a FL user for long and didnt want to pirate my daw anymore so I bought a Reason+ subscription because its affordable for me and your videos are probably the best and most informative tutorials ive seen on youtube expecially how you describe the fundamental parts of mixing and mastering and how to navigate reason 😊 now im even more excited to dive into Reason. One question tho do you have any video on how Combinator works and how you use it properly? I find it probably better to use combinator for my effects on my synths but I cant really figure it out properly.
Those are called "sends" or "sends effects" or "send and return tracks" are used for time based effects like reverb or delay, they help with CPU usage and clear up sounding mix, it's basically a effect bus
I opened reason and my rack extensions no longer there. Says "indiacates something with internet connection. My master inserts also disappeared. All I see is the bypass button. Any suggestions?
Hi, I have a reason 10, how can I save midi, I don't know when I export a midi file, so everything sounds like a piano. Drums and bass in reason 10 hear a nice bass, drums but when I save it all the soundtrack so only the piano sounds please help thank you.
If you save midi, you ably export the notes and it’s normal that they play with a piano sound , because you do not save the sound, you just save the note information! 😌
@@robertcallash3634MIDI is strictly the data/notes you put, not the instruments they're assigned to. You're essentially exporting your piano roll and nothing else. If you want the whole song you'd want to export as WAV or MP3 so you also have the instruments.
But we can not use 3rd party plugins. I lile to use soundradix auto align for phase alignment it is really a must. Reason is very nice but got to be open for 3rd party plugins proper usage
So this is the thing: I have 2 Reason licenses: one Reason 10 and one Reason 11. I purchase an upgrade of Reason 12 to go towards my Reason 10. As I have always been doing since record, (upgrading the older version). However Reason would only upgrade my version 11 stealing away my version 10 because they are saying it is in my same account and they do not want to operate like that anymore. This is unethical and even unlawful. Many years and $$$ investing in this platform and now they act careless with their Lawal customer's.. They have given me a extremely bad experience. I have been Lawal with this software, buying everything legit. And investing on it. I think it's time to leave it behind.
Beginner? This is a great deep dive!
Excellent tutorial, very well explained. Thanks Thomas.
Best Tutorial on reason 12 I saw!!! Thank you!

So good 😊
Helped a lot thank you
Does Reason still support 3rd party plug-ins and Vst's?do you know if they will bring back rewire?
What is the advantage of using the master effects, like reverb and echo instead of putting them onto the vocal track directly?

@@ThomasFostermusicproduction So reason 10 I can't export save midi as on cubase save midi can play in windows media player.

dumb question: once i have done the m ixing, do I save the song and in doing so save the mixing settings?
Absolut, you should always save and everything that changes the sound will be part of this saving

Reason has allowed 3rd party plugins for over 7 years now.
