For years cuban- Canadians like me advised not travel to Cuba, but nobody listen.They even ignore the advice for our own goverment See the goverment website about travel advisory.

Get a lawyer . 😢😢. My loved one died in Mexico , they say heart attack. I had very good help from Mexican people and airlines, I was devastated, alone there. unfortunatelly no real help from Canadian Government..

Sad, but there are many details missing from this story to make a judgement. It is always a risk vacationing in a foreign country especially if you have an existing medical condition... and the medical insurance is very expensive. Always check out the info on Global Affairs website to any country you want to go to, and if you have an existing medical condition - and are older many times the family Dr will advise the person not to go. Unfortunate as the death is, the details will come to light. Why didn't the wife go with the rest of the family?
The family should be in Cuba dealing with the coroner, not blabbing on news media airwaves blaming the government...had they had proper medical insurance that covers repatriation in the event of death and or illness the insurance people would have dealt with the hassle and admin.
Never ceases to amaze me how privileged ppl feel the gov is supposed to be at their beck and call regardless whereever they are..
Careless trotting the globe without doing their homework and traveling with all bases covered...
Blame Trudeau, and blame Cuba... It's obvious someone made an error, why would they even leave Cuba without making sure they had all the boxes checked
