There's a misconception that a lot of job openings means alot of opportunities... In cybersecurity unfortunately, that's not true at all, which is very counter intuitive, but it's the unfortunate truth, (Cyber)Security is one of the most gate kept career paths in the country. And alot of companies don't take security as seriously as they should until something happens to them. Which is unfortunate.
