- Meet Scarlett, the Raspberry 2022 Specialized Epic Evo, base model. You don't see these as often as its a base and people despise base models. I wanted the color so I got it. The base model has the parts below and you will be surprised at how it performs. The 2023 is the last run of the Epic Evo that was released as a 2020 model. The Frame has not changed but the part kits and colors on certain models from 2022-2023 has changed. It has 120/110mm of travel and is a Down Country style bike that was a perfect split with XC/Trail. Even with the base model the weight with XT SPD pedals came to 28.14lbs Considering you can lose a bunch of weight, a custom Expert version was 25.5lbs with a bunch of carbon.
Reach out to your nearest dealer to nab yourself one before they are all gone for good. This is an XL and I'm 6'3" with a 32" inseam. They run longer than you think when seated pedaling, so the Reach #'s don't account for the slack 74 degree seat angle that stretches you out more. I plan to change the stem but I wanted the longer bike for stability. It comes with a 60mm stem but the popular move has be 45mm and a riser bar.
This Bike just moves! Coming from a porky yet efficient Ibis Ripmo, this bike is perfect for single track and the common XC trails. it can hold its work on the smooth DH but this is no enduro bike so rock smashing isn't its strong suit. This was the perfect blend for me and exactly what I wanted.

That's gotta be the lightest MTB bell ever. Sometimes it goes beep beep, sometimes ding ding. Cool!
I wish i started my research a few months ago. My 8th grader is racing x. And im going down the rabbit hole. Learning alot from your channel.
Just stumbled across your channel researching an Epic Evo! Love the video man, the ‘beep beep’ had me laughing! Great review of the bike!
Carbon full suspension from specialized for 2,400. That’s a crazy good deal
That Reba over the Judy all day, it's thicker, stiffer yet Lighter!
Great bike for that money, for sure! Had an alloy Epic years ago and seriously considering an EVO. Seems like a great blend of XC and Trail. Nice trails - looks like fun.
Sadly the great deal is over but the new Epic 8 is really this bike but better. If you get the Epic 8 Evo, get a 120mm fork, and sell the stock 130mm fork, you will have a great XC/trail bike. Doing the above would have been the plan but that $2400 price was too good. I’ll swap later if I care to.
The 120 down country bikes are so good now for 90% of the regular person trails.
@@ShaneXCS Glad I saw this and followed up on the deal - found a 2023 from another shop through the S site and they are shipping the bike to me for the $2399 price plus shipping! Can't wait! Thanks for posting - you got me a much better bike than I would have been able to get for the money!
@@NCtrailX How are you liking the Epic Evo?
@@ShaneXCS Loving it! It's versatile, and shines as a fast trail bike. Fast in the woods and on gravel roads on the way to the trails - really efficient. Thanks again for highlighting the deal!
If you are in NA, that is not a 2023... that colorway was from 2022.
Good catch. The frame design is the same from 2020-2023 and the color is from 2022. I do end up stating that in the description or video.
Grats bro!
U said the only think you will keep was the stem? Lol congrats on your new bike day
LOL yea paying all that $ and All I'm gonna keep is the stem. Anyone want the Frame? LOL
Actually the only thing left now is the frame, the seat, and the headtube bearings. Everything has changed.
My local dealer is still asking for full msrp. Do you know if specialized dealer must match clearance price?
Full MSRP on the site was $2399 but have since gone up to the $4k. Shop around once you know what you want and call shops. Some will want them gone with the new ones out.
Finally managed to get a deal at my LBS, paid 3400 for a 2023 Epic Evo. At least got a 600 dollar discount 😢
120 mll travel on the fork? woah not enough travel not even for where im at. i would upgrade to something with more travel in the future. nice bike and the color
I have an all mountain bike, 170/150, for the big hits and parks. This is for XC and runs great for most of the stuff in my area.
