Polymer Clay Amanita Mushroom Sculpture // How to Sculpt Tutorial

- I'm showing you how I sculpt Amanita Mushrooms using polymer clay (fimo in my case) and acrylic paints.
My favorite handmade tools aren't available anymore.
Instead try to find "spatulas" or dental tools. Though you can get away with a needle tool or needle as well.
◉ART SUPPLIES◉
Polymer clay brands I use are Fimo and Cernit.

A lot of acrylic paints get sticky onto polymer clay. These are good options

20 secs in, I'mma have to stop you right there. Lol what?
Amanita Muscaria is definitely NOT one of the deadliest mushrooms on earth.
Amanita Pantherina is much more poisonous and Amanita Phalloides and Amanita Virosa are definitely lethal. The common fly agaric is notoriously overestimated in its toxicity, though. Fatalities caused by Amanita Muscaria ingestion are not completely unheard of, but pretty rare.
I admire your skill and your art, but please don't spread false information
yeah, plenty have corrected me since, I just pinned your comment now, so others can see the mistake I made. Sorry about that!
So what? She said, its ONE of the most deadliest mushrooms. And I can correct both of you. It is not poisonous. Its hallucinogenic and its so popular because of that. Shamans of north used it for rituals. It is called soma.
jozef kozienka I have to give it to this guy. The common fly agaric and yellow orange fly agaric (Amanita Muscaria) are hallucinogenic in large quantities and has been known to be psychoactive for thousands of years. However, wild mushrooms can carry bacteria in which will make you sick, but that’s just a known fact for all wild mushrooms, not just a certain species.
Lol at 3:36 she says “skirt” instead of veil
Love these mushrooms. Legal and not one single recorded death. Legal to buy sell give away or propogate if you had the means
LOVE the sinister background music to accompany the creation of the sinister mushroom. I liked the bit of history at the beginning as well.
:-)
This mushroom is not deadly at all. It just has to be cooked. It is very good medicine. It gave me my life back. This is why I am here. I want to make these and decorate a wreath with it to celebrate this amazing mushroom. Thank you for this tutorial!!
As a person who appreciates mushrooms, especially Amanitas, I LOVE the detail you put into these. Such amazing little sculptures, you've inspired me to try my own :)
thank you! have fun trying these out :)
Thank you so much for posting this. I'm a mycologist and was making a necklace for a colleague with various fungi. I made a perfect amanita first time I tried your tutorial.
Awesome! :)
Very pretty fly agaric mushroom!
Love this video.... but good thing I'm not actually on mushrooms while watching this, that music is a bit of a dark tripp lol
Hahaha! I was thinking the same thing. It's super intense. Awesome video though! Cheers 💃👽🍄👽
That’s awesome!
Omg I read that wrong I thought you said you actually WERE on mushrooms while watching this. I thought someone was on shrooms looking up mushrooms on RUclips lol!
was thinking this exactly.. 🤣 either dark or just INCREDIBLY introspective 🤣🤣
I’ve watched this video so many times now. Partly because I love mushrooms and watching people sculpt with clay, but mostly because I enjoy how relaxing your voice and accent are.
Clay art jaz, if you like looking at clay artists check out Ace of Clay videos, he does some awesome sculptures
Beautiful ❤️ I laughed at your skirt joke, wasn’t expecting the “that sounded perverted” LOL 😂
Love the frequency 😍 and thnx for going through the effort for the gills❤️❤️❤️
Inspirational, can’t wait to get sculpting
You're becoming a true mushroom expert, the details are amazing!
+Star of the East haha, kinda 😄 thank you!
these are amazing! I never new how to enhance the details, thanks for helping explain how to make them pop!
*knew, not new
+TheWanderingDruid you're welcome!
Superb👌🏻💖

+Mandy Thomas-Wilson glad you like them 😊
Absolutely adorable. Thanks for sharing for this lovely tutorial. 👍👍👍
Absolutely beautiful and so clever!! Thank you so much. You’re very gifted.
I just want to thank you for your relaxing and inspiring videos! I am currently working on a polymer clay fairy house shaped like a mushroom for a fairy garden. Your succulent and mushroom videos are my favorites and I think are what helped me come up with the fairy garden idea. I hope you keep making these wonderful videos Miss Stephanie!
I try to make at least one video per week ^^
glad you felt inspired by my work!
they are absolutely adorable!!! ty so much for a great tutorial and sharing ur technique with us !!! loved it
It looks so realastic! 🍄🍄🍄
+Tilda Ne thank you 😊
I'm still a beginner at polymer clay, but your're amazing!! I can't believe you don't have more subs!! love your work!
Fabulous video
im high as hell and the music was insane. beautiful mushie rooms
I loved watching you sculpt the Amanita mushroom, or, as I know them: Fly Argaric mushroom. I've actually had the pleasure of seeing a clump of these mushrooms in person in a public garden. I have often drawn these, and looked at photos of them in books. I love your method of sculpting this mushroom, and enjoyed this video a lot! You made it look dead easy to make, and I feel that even I can try this! Thank you so much!! ~Janet in Canada 👍🍄
thank you! yes, these mushrooms are such beauties!
The “skirt” is called a vail, it covers the gills when the mushroom is small then opens as it matures 🍄
They are just lovely!
girl. i love your videos. they're so informative without being overwhelming. thanks!
Jus seen this today....YOU ARE AN AMAZING ARTIST!!
Thank you so much!
The "skirt" is called veil. It is a membrane attached to the edge of the cap, as the mushroom matures, the veil breaks, detach from the cap and allow spores to drop from the gills.
Very nice tutorial Thank you
Great idea. wonderful works.
Love the music! So fun!
Those mushrooms are so realistic!💜💚
Beautiful
These are wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing your technique.
This videos is old, but this is nonetheless a beautiful work of art, and a beautiful depiction of the Amanita muscaria. The Amanita muscaria is in fact toxic, but only when consumed raw! Once heat dried, boiled, they are safe to eat, and are actually psychedelic (though not similar to the effects experienced after consuming, for example, a Psilocybe cubensis. Most people report Amanita trips to be bad). As an shroom-loving American, these are great. These are everywhere across the US too!
Bon travail! Les champignon sont super extraordinaires et beaux. L'Amanita muscaria est toxique et psychédélique. Ils sont super cool !
Stephanie, these are amazing! Such detail!👍👍👍 Beautiful work! ❤
The skirt part is known annulus. My grandfather was an amateur mycologist with some fascinating books which I learned a lot from :)
Sorry I meant to write that as known as an annulus :)
+Tessa Rosina basically "ring" thank you for the info! 😊
You deserve zillions of thumbs up 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
This is a really cool project. Yes, I love your mushrooms and I love to watch all the tiny details..... thanks for sharing!

Wow.. I love how you use a chunk of clay like a pallette! Such skill!!
thank you!
Also a very potent hallucinogen used by shamans for centuries, if not longer.
You are so talented, I admire your skill and attention to detail on these ones especially, you should have a way bigger following, how do more people not watch your videos?!? You should start tagging them as "most satisfying video" because even just watching them to relax and desires is great, your work is brilliant/mesmerizing and your voice is soothing as well, the perfect combo lol
youtube is not my priority :) so I don't invest as much time in it as other huge youtubers. I focus on my art first.
And thank you! Glad you liked it so much!
Nice Video! tkx for sharing!❤
You are my new favorite crafting channel :)
Excellent video my dearest friend
