I really enjoyed your video. This is one of my favorite war game designs and I'm glad to see people still making videos for it.
I may have missed it if you covered this, but one reason why morale on the back is higher than morale on the front is that it also represents that some units make better use of the terrain to avoid further casualties. So the American line unit just isn't better at coming back to the fight sooner, but they are better trained and or experienced to seek cover when under attack and are more difficult to kill vs. a unit that is not as well trained.
On the other hand, Volksgrenadier units were formed later in the war and have a lower backside morale to reflect that they are not as combat experienced or equipped to take advantage of the terrain when taking fire. All subject to opinion.
I very much agree with the narrative aspect. The random events add some great story elements. I have had troops in a building before and a random fire started near the building and then spread to the building causing me to abandon it. I just imagined that strays rounds caught the fields next to it on fire and off we ran.
The game does handle many things abstractly through the use of the cards, but if you open your mind to the game play, stories just write themselves creating great narrative and atmosphere. Very fun game. Thank you for posting.

+Bad Karma Thanks for your comments - much appreciated. The morale issue that I have is that every American unit has a lower morale than its counterpart from other nations. This makes them more likely to go to ground when under fire. But my understanding of US infantry training (and famously put into practice by the airborne forces) was that they were trained to push forward if hit by fire. This seems to be the opposite of the game effect. It doesn't detract from the game though and it isn't meant to be a study of infantry combat in any case. It is a game that creates great stories. Am looking forward to playing the "Sea Lion" Battle Pack for that very reason.

I just like to add narrative to the rules to help put things in perspective. So i like what you said about US infantry pushing forward under fire also helps with a high morale value. Just makes it easier to get them fighting again to push forward.
Your right, it's not a study of infantry combat as this game isn't a simulation. I just enjoy the story aspect :D

If you really want to be funny, become a comedian and get on a stage. Except I suspect you won't be at all amusing.
